I loved it. And I cried. Finally an episode that I felt, flew by.
May 24, 2016 at 7:15 pm #51650majencoParticipantAgreed. I just wish it didn’t happen all in one day! I wanted to see the progression. Show Jennifer hiding the pills. Show her freaking about JJ and Abigail. I loved her scenes with Jack and Lucas. I loved the flashbacks. I just wish there was more buildup.
May 24, 2016 at 11:05 pm #51652caseyParticipantwhere was all this buildup before? This is what I wanted all along – to see Jenn’s desperation and going through withdrawal. I bet this will be the end of this episode in her life and no setbacks which would have been reality. That I would like to see.
But is this a trend? We saw this with Abigail – an entire show devoted to one story. It seems this might be Days way of wrapping up SLs quickly instead of the usual way.May 25, 2016 at 1:55 am #51654lynnekarenParticipantI’d think they were wrapping up the show. Everything in a neat little package with an hour devoted to each story. That’s how it felt to me. But still really enjoyed the show today.
Matt Ashford looks amazing!
May 25, 2016 at 3:36 am #51657majencoParticipantI don’t mind a whole show devoted to one storyline. I enjoyed the Abigail losing it storyline with Ben. I enjoyed that EJ Sami ep that ended up not being true when she found out about his affair with Abigail. But a drug addiction storyline cannot be wrapped up in one day. This was not the way to handle this strong material. I loved having Jack there and would have liked to see more of this played over time. Jen needed a slow descent into what we witnessed today. It was way too rushed for me. This is the storyline I would have rather invested in instead of endless silliness with Aiden.
May 25, 2016 at 11:30 am #51659mommytutuParticipantWe’ve all been wondering how we were supposed to believe Jannifer was an addict when we never really saw much of an addiction. I’m glad they gave us a whole show. I also loved seeing Lucas and Jack. The three of them are so good, I find it sad that Lucas was back burnered and Jack is only here for these dream sequences.
May 25, 2016 at 1:30 pm #51660midwifemamaParticipantFelt like the rupture of an abcess, and now she is starting along process of recovery, I liked that it was the whole show, felt real to me, she was hiding and denying her disease so well, then she couldnt do it anymore and it all burst forth. And now the work starts.
May 25, 2016 at 3:18 pm #51662caseyParticipantbecause backsliding would be expected. I’m just not sure Days will give it the time and substance it deserves.
May 25, 2016 at 8:08 pm #51663bradysgmaParticipantJen was complaining about how bad her back pain was. The pills don’t do anything to heal the back, just take away the pain til they wear off. She should get help to heal her back, even if it’s surgery. After all, the accident was almost 5 months ago.
May 26, 2016 at 3:19 am #51665shadowParticipantall through the years I have really thoroughly, liked Jen so much, she has a sweet spirit. I know she has gone through an awful lot, when she had the car wreck, that caused her back to be in lots of pain.
I felt so sorry for her when she tried to speak her addiction problem. Tears felt down my face when the family gathered around her.May 26, 2016 at 2:55 pm #51669BonbonParticipantit all too often becomes cronic. I was in an accident over 25 years ago and I still suffer pain, in spite of three surgeries, hours and hours of PT and countless other kinds of treatments. The only thing that helps me now is pain pills
But I see a couple of problems with Jenn. First, it is way too soon for her to be so addicted that she is tearing up the house like that. Another thing is how she pleaded with Lucas that she needed help. If she is still in that much pain she wouldn’t give a second thought of feeling addicted and wanting to quit taking them. The problem comes when you no longer are taking them for the pain but for the addiction. Also, if she was in that much pain, she could have gone to the ER and told them she ran out of pills but was in a lot of pain and they would tide her over until she could see her regular doctor for a refil. (Plus, they can pick out the addicts pretty well, they see so many of them.
This is unusual to say but I think the writers have rushed this addiction SL too much. Like Lucas said, she had no addiction before the accident so she should still be justified taking the pills for her pain and not being so desperate that she has become a junkie.
May 26, 2016 at 3:52 pm #51672caseyParticipantwould she be on these (particularly if she’s taking many more than prescribed) before that kind of desperate behavior kicked in? Five months wouldn’t do it?
But I do agree, the SL blasted into full blown addiction in one day! -
