While I said I wouldn’t be disappointed who won it, I very much disagreed with the outcome. I thought Kathrine should have won with William second and Donald third. I think so many football players have won because of the enormous fan bases they have but he just wasn’t as good (technically) as the other two. Although I was really happy for Peta winning in only her second year. Oh, well!
Next season should be interesting. They are asking us to go to ABC.com and say who of the former contestants we’d like to see come back for an All-Stars show. I’d definitely like to see Gilles Marini, the race car driver (Casa… why can I never remember his name?), Nicole Shwartz…., Maria Menudos (sp?), Stacey Keebler, and Drew Lachey. Maybe Donny and Marie. How about you guys? Whoever they bring back, I sure hope they pair up Tony and Maks with someone decent and a chance to win.
Did anybody else think the other dancers looked MUCH better when they danced last night than when they were competing? Maybe it was because they weren’t under any stress. Except Jaleel sure blue that last lift, BIG TIME, otherwise, I thought they all did great.
May 23, 2012 at 12:38 pm #33192SWParticipantThat they don’t have the 2 guys with Len G. doing their "commentary crap" on the dancers. It’s more annoying than Bruno and his over the top sexual comments.
May 23, 2012 at 1:20 pm #33194MKParticipantI agree, Bonbon. I wanted Katherine to win and if not her, then William. Donald was very good at times but I didn’t think he deserved the win. He was not the better dancer. Oh well, it is, after all, mostly a popularity contest and I should know that by now. I only watched the beginning of last night’s show but I did record it and heard who won this morning.
I am happy they are doing an all-stars show in the fall. I would like to see Mario Lopez since I think he is the best dancer they ever had on the show. He absolutely should have won his season. I would also like to see Sabrina Bryan who was voted off much to early, Gilles Marina, and definitely Joey Lawrence. I will always remember Joey’s dance to "Singin’ in the Rain." It was so beautiful. I didn’t know we could vote so I’ll be sure to do that.
May 23, 2012 at 1:34 pm #33196BonbonParticipantHis schtik has gotten old and stale. I wish he’d some up with something new…a new way to present his comments.
And agree wholly about Jerry Rice and that other dum-dum. They are not funny anymore. Except for Tom, their comedy always seems to fall flat. They should probably stay away from trying to be funny and stick to what they do best, music, dance, choreography, costumes, hair, make-up, etc. That’s mostly why I watch.
May 23, 2012 at 10:00 pm #33202PattiParticipantof the three, and although William Levy was hot hot hot as a firecracker, I found his Latin dances were his best, because they sure did show his sexuality, and were by far his best dances, plus they got the audience (and Bruno) screaming for more, not to mention the most excited—and even Cheryl knew it and took advantage of it. Katherine should have won, because she was, as Len said, the "complete package," but there was something about Donald that made him so likable because these dances didn’t come easy to him and I think the audience related to that. I know I did.
I’m really looking forward to the all-star show. Some of my favorites I would love to see return are:
Killy Monoco (first ever winner) but she’s currently on front-burner story at GH, so don’t know if she would have the time to compete, or if she would even be allowed to;
Apolo Ohno;
Helio (Race Car Driver) (won’t attempt his last name);
Evan Lysocek;
Hines Ward;
Gilles Marini;
Christie Yamaguchi (sp?);
Brooke Burke (doubtful since she’s now co-hosting the show); and
J. R. Martinez (I think he’s my all-time favorite).
May 24, 2012 at 1:53 am #33204shadowParticipantKatherine should have won, then William and third for Donald. I loved Katherine and William, but Donald, I was never real sure he could dance well enough to win.
Oh, but, Gladys Knight was WONDERFUL. It was very emotional.
I could have done without Sherry Shepherd showing her stupidity again.
May 24, 2012 at 2:02 pm #33223annieoParticipantIt’s a dance competition and of the three, Donald improved the most over the weeks. I found myself saying, I want Katherine to win, then I’d say, no, Donald, no Katherine. I really couldn’t make up my mind. Levy was really eye candy and could really shake his booty. I felt bad for his little boy. He was so upset his dad was eliminated. My only comment on the finale was that Mark almost overshadowed Katherine in the dance. My eyes were drawn to him instead of watching her. He’s a great dancer, but seemed almost over the top to me on Tuesday. Maybe it was the orange coat! I really enjoyed Katherine’s singing before she danced on Monday. That was genius.
May 24, 2012 at 2:19 pm #33225BonbonParticipantis it for the most improved or the best dancer? I’d agree that Donald was the most improved but I think, by far, Katherine was the best dancer and that should be who the trophy goes to. But, and I know I’ve said this before, the football players seem to have the biggest fan base and Katherine, being from the UK, is not well-known here, otherwise, I think she would have won.
And, yeah, I felt sorry for William’s little boy too, that was so sad. Almost like the little seven-year old that Howard Stern made cry on AGT (but that’s another story).
I also agree about Mark overshadowing Katherine. Over the year, I’ve seen other pros do the same thing. Mark and Darrick are two that come to mind. Maybe they think they will look better as a couple of the dance well. I don’t particularily agree.
You know what I’d like to see in the future? An award for the "best pro." It would be based on their choreography and how much their "star" improves over the season.
May 24, 2012 at 3:07 pm #33226PattiParticipantit’s who has the best fans and that those fans actually call, text or get on-line and vote for their favorites that determines the winner. I’m sure hundreds of thousands watch every week and never vote. It’s like any other reality show, whether it be DWTS, SYTYCD (which starts tonight), AI, AGT, and the list goes on and. All things considered, these shows are based on popularity—always were, always will.
