Argh, I can’t stand it. Is that how people would really act if the house they were in was about to explode? I would think the idea of trying to protect themselves the best way possible would have been first and foremost in their minds instead of Rafe’s afterthought.
I would have been trying to figure out how to get under a couch and other furniture or some such protection to minimize the blast any way I could. Since the explosives are apparently by the door, go to the room furthest way, shut the door, barracade it with as much shock-absorbing material they can find, get flat on the floor and hope for the best.
But, nooooo, what do they do? Stand around and profess their undying (not for long!) love for each other. Bah!
Shane, you have disappointed me, something as simple as disarming a bomb and you blew it. Turn in your ISA badge. I don’t know why they didn’t have the bomb squad there anyway. They certainly had enough time if they’d called them in the very beginning (which I think would be the normal protocol).
May 5, 2012 at 11:38 am #32803bluebonnetParticipantTotally! Especially the part about getting in another room and calling the bomb squad! I am laughing as I write this because the whole situation is so absurd!
May 6, 2012 at 3:24 am #32814lynnekarenParticipantThe cutting of the wires, Friday’s literally had me rolling my eyes.
May 6, 2012 at 1:19 pm #32821SWParticipant1. Did I miss something or how did Shane just happen to appear in Salem since he and Kim live in Calif?
2. Is it possible that Stefano only wanted to scare the gang and show them he was in control?
3. Bluebonnet, bomb squad – how about having the fire department there too since if you know there’s a bomb, it seems rather logical that an explosion inside a house would result in some type of fire that needs to be put out with more than a fire extinguisher!! Oh, wait, maybe Salem only has regular cops and no firefighters??? lol This is why the show appears dumb at times!
May 6, 2012 at 2:08 pm #32822PattiParticipanttalking to John, he said he was sending his "boss." Although he did not refer to him by name, that was Shane.
I don’t think Stefano ever authoirzed or even knew that Harmon wired the safehouse with the bomb, but I believe he (Stef) certainly meant to have them think if they didn’t turn over the coin, they were going to die. I think that was all Harmon’s doing.
May 6, 2012 at 4:26 pm #32823annieoParticipant"at times?" Had to really laugh at your comment SW.
May 6, 2012 at 5:30 pm #32824BonbonParticipantto kill them, only scare them, like the fake attack on Marlena. I guess we’ll find out for sure Monday but I guarantee that none of those characters will be killed. :o)
If Stefano kills them he won’t be able to get the half of the coin he is after. I don’t know why THEY don’t realize that.
May 6, 2012 at 9:33 pm #32827SWParticipanthe told Harmon to do whatever he had to or something like that. Stefano just didn’t want his hands to show up as dirty with whatever happened.
May 6, 2012 at 9:53 pm #32828BonbonParticipanthe said that after Harmon had already left the safe house. I think he decided that later. Don’t know for sure though.
May 6, 2012 at 11:26 pm #32830majencoParticipantAfter Friday’s show I am convinced that every single person involved in that debacle is a complete idiot.
May 7, 2012 at 12:15 pm #32833SWParticipantthey had it, not John so John couldn’t give it to Steffy because he no longer had it. I thought Harmon was in charge at the safe house so he could have done that. Plus, Salem is always in the ‘time warp’ so we don’t know how much time he had between seeing Steffie and leaving him.
I wonder if the rug was covering a cellar safe area. John’s last words were something like ‘Get down, get down" which while it could have meant on the floor behind the furniture but it could have meant get down into the cellar that Rafe/Carrie just found. Since I’m not buying their dying, I’m guessing there’s a rat hole of some type to escape into, lol.
May 8, 2012 at 12:14 am #32846bluebonnetParticipantWonder why the fire department didn’t find the secure basement when they were scouring the site after the bomb went off. Surely the trap door either burned up, blew off, or at least could be seen.
May 8, 2012 at 11:29 am #32850SWParticipantthe fire depart is dumb too? Plus, like all else in Dimerville, there are tunnels connecting the safe house to something else? Maybe they’ll all pop up in Stefano’s living room behind that painting of Steffie?? llol Or in Caroline’s wine cellar?
May 8, 2012 at 12:24 pm #32851caseyParticipanthis employee to “take care of them” I didn’t take it to mean just scare them.
