Ok I have to admit that Nicole brought tears to my eyes when she was on the stand. I also loved the judge sticking it to EJ and Sami for that matter!! That was great! I was also kind of surpised that Chloe wasnt there. I know she was pissed at Nicole for lying to her too but I thought they kind of made up.
January 6, 2010 at 8:24 pm #925653tdogsParticipantto see the show…but based on your comments – guess Nicole will get off scott free – again.
January 6, 2010 at 9:14 pm #9260PattiParticipantas far as I’m concerned. First of all, we won’t know the verdict until, I guess, tomorrow. Brady is the one I’m really hell-bent with. I hope Sami never talks to him again. And if Ariana has anything else to do with him, she’s just plain nuts, IMHO. It’s obvious he’s never going to throw Nicole under the bus, but is willing to throw his sister and girlfriend under, head first. The judge should have reprimanded Rafe for his cell phone going off. I don’t know about anywhere else, but here in Maryland cell phones are not allowed in the courtHOUSE, let alone a courtroom. Ridiculous writers. Sami was treated horribly by this judge. Regardless of what he felt for her past custody hearings, or anything else for that matter, it had nothing to do with this trial and should have never been brought by anyone. Even the lawyers had more sympathy than that judge did for what Sami went through. Mia and Chad were okay, but their part struck me as more of a performance for each other and for Gabby rather than from their heartfelt sorrow. Mia is turning into quite the little manipulator in her quest to reconquer Chad. As for E.J., since I believe he is behind all of this fiasco, I’m more tolerant of the judge’s criticisms toward him, which were accurate to say the least. Of course, he’ll probably pay for it down the road once his comments reach Stefano’s ears. But, Nicole was truly the star of the courtroom. She honestly made me believe that she was truly sorry, and I do believe it, even if I have not been on her side in recent months. She broke my heart today. The sincerity and genuineness in her statement and apology to all involved came from deep within her soul, and I could really feel her pain. God, you are not just good AZ…you are grrrrreat!
January 6, 2010 at 9:47 pm #9263loritrollParticipantSOOOO totally agree, Patti. As I usually do with you. I have no idea why the judge would bring up anything that had to do with Sami’s past. She wasn’t on the stand. She wasn’t the one who was being tried. Totally out of line. And, as much as I like Brady and love his chemistry with Nicole, I can’t believe he would go against his sister like that. I think that’s going to cause an even greater wedge between the two of them. And, Ari (Nicole) was superb as always. She had better get a nom this year. If she doesn’t, we’ll know once and for all that the Daytime Emmys are rigged.
January 7, 2010 at 12:00 am #926853tdogsParticipanton Ari’s acting and what the judge and every one else said in the courtroom today – but I am so mad about what may happen on tomorrow’s show I could just spit nails! I don’t care how sorry she is for all the things that she’s done.
January 7, 2010 at 12:06 am #9269BonbonParticipantSince there is no blood relathionship between them, and remember way back when, when Sami hated Brady because of the way he was treating her mother.
A;sp, Patti, why would he look so miserable when he’s alone. I don’t think they have the characters (when they are alone) emote just for us.
As far as the waterworks here went, I started crying while Brady was testifying and then Nicole let the flood gates open. By golly, you’re right about Emmy recognition. Several of ‘our’ actors have shown us some pretty amazing performances this past year.
January 7, 2010 at 4:19 am #9272Ms. JakeParticipantI just wished they would have given more backstory with Nicole…and brought up about how much love Sami had for Grace, even though she didn’t give birth to her, and that’s how Nicole felt about Sydney. And how the pregnancy was a miracle for Nicole, this could have been even more heartbreaking. I was let down that EJ was soo cruel! I thought he loved Nicole somewhat, just a little. But what I really hated is, this could of played so differently. Dr. Baker is dead! This all could have been blamed on him! That he switched the babies…And I don’t blame Brady for testifing on Nicole’s behalf..This is about her LIFE! not just about someone’s feelings. And what she did is not far from what Sami would have done in the same situation. Yes, the judge had no right to bring that up….but what he said about her and EJ was the truth,I’m just shocked that was even written in!!! She’s too good of an actress to send off to jail( for along time) soooo, bet it’ll be a suprisingly lite sentence and everyone will be appaulled, even Nicole will be shocked!
January 7, 2010 at 9:51 am #9276SWParticipantmaybe he’s behind the judge’s comments? He didn’t want Chad tied to Mia with a baby and was against Chad even trying to get his kid back. Maybe Nicole will just get a psych eval and therapy?
January 7, 2010 at 12:52 pm #9277BonbonParticipant…but, it seemed to me from the judge’s comments that she’s going to get off lightly. But then again, maybe that was just a red herring. I think the whole thing hinges on whether or not Ari is coming back after her maternity leave. And it scares me that she may not because she has been by far one of the best actors on this show. There doesn’t seem to be any scuttlebutt about it which is why I’m so concerned. (Has anybody heard anything?) I suppose if she’s not coming back, the judge will throw the book at her. If she is, she will probably get off with some time in a psychiatric hospital (maternity leave) and then be back.
I would love it if she would come back and get back with EJ. There is so much potential for those two as a couple. I DON"T want EJ to go back to Sami and I’d prefer he not ‘hook up’ with Arianna. He belongs to Nicole!!!
I also thought for a minute that EJ was having some sympathy for her and maybe he really DID have some love for her but then when he jumped up and protested the judge’s comments, alas, I guess not.
Whatever happens, this has certainly been an interesting ride for us viewers and I have to say that it has been one of the more enjoyable and intreguing storylines for me. I LOVE this show!
January 7, 2010 at 1:43 pm #9278PattiParticipantwhen he is alone he is, of course, thinking about Sydney; but, IMO, his major concerns are a) no one, especially Sami, finding out that he’s been working with Anna; and b) he’s trying his damnedest to keep Rafe from being involved; and c) he’s always looking for a way to plot his next ruse. I may be way off base with this feeling, but sorry that’s just how I feel about it. E.J. didn’t have any problems whatsoever conniving and scheming to keep Sami in his life (remember the immigration storyline just to keep her married to him?); well, this is no different. As a matter of fact, it’s his best chance yet of getting her back in his life, because he knows that she will do anything, and I do mean anything, to find Sydney, even if it means keeping it from Rafe. Silly girl…..she’ll never learn.
January 7, 2010 at 2:01 pm #9279PattiParticipantbut, seriously, Sami and E.J.’s past???? Would you like to take a little trip down Nicole’s road to hell???? Or, maybe we should have had Chloe in the courtroom and remind Brady how Nicole tried to disfigure her with a "flesh-eating bacteria" that she was more than willing to plan into Chloe. Now, I do feel hopeful for Nicole in the future, because she will undoubtedly come back and be redeemed, just like they did with Sami, who I have to admit, I really am starting to care much more for than in the past. But let’s not get carried away with Nicole’s innocence in all of this? The woman did a horrible, deceitful injustice, not just to Sami and E.J. (although I’m much less sympathetic to him), but to Mia and Chad and Brady (whom she used pathetically), but, even more egregious to me is what she was willing to stand back and allow two innocent babies to have been the greatest victims of her crime. No, I will not allow my pity for her now to supersede what she has done. Even Sami has gone to jail for her crimes in the past and almost was put to death at one point for a murder she did not even commit. Can we say the same for E.J. or for Nicole, for that matter? She spent some time in jail for Trent’s murder when she was a suspect for, oh, how long, 3 or 4 hours. That’s the trouble with soaps; everyone compares who did what to whom, and she did it, too, so what makes her/him any better than so and so. Well, I say in this particular instance, it’s time to pay the piper. Sorry!
January 7, 2010 at 2:23 pm #9281caseyParticipantLast we saw he was moving his fingers. He may yet reappear – maybe to spring Nicole once she returns from maternity leave, that is, if she gets a lengthy jail term.
I can’t believe she’ll be freed right away, but on this show who knows? This woman has to get some kind of punishment.January 7, 2010 at 7:40 pm #9289BonoSugaRayParticipantI totally agree with you! Nicole’s getting no love or sympathy from me!
January 7, 2010 at 10:36 pm #9302IzzyBParticipantAnd agree with Brady, I hope Sami gives him an ear full. But I disagree about the judge. Her past does have something to do with it. If Sami had not lied to EJ about her daughter, this would have never happened.
January 8, 2010 at 5:46 pm #9332loritrollParticipantMy biggest issue with Nicole throughout this whole saga was her manipulation of Mia. We’re supposed to think Mia is 15-16 yr old girl who has been kicked out of her house, living on her own, with a boyfriend who is MIA. Gotta be a terribly scary thing for someone so young to go through. Enter Nicole – a 30-something yr old that is telling her all the right things so she can get what she wants, which is Mia’s baby. Then, she doesn’t even KEEP that baby, opting instead to take Sami’s baby just to stick it to her. Anytime I had sympathy for Nicole it was destroyed when I would see her lay into Mia and yell at her for even thinking of mentioning the fact that she had a baby. Wouldn’t let her hold Sydney for the longest time. Tried to make her leave town. Convinced her to tell everyone that she had sleep with a bunch of guys. I mean, all these really terrible things and this is just a kid! When it came to the treatment of Mia, any and all sympathy I had for her was gone. Brady, Sami, and EJ – though hurt by her – are adults and can handle that better than a scared kid, going through what she went through. JMHO
