was so over-the-top, portrayal-wise, for Sami, E.J., and Rafe, that I honestly had to root for Stefano yesterday. Boy, did he say some things to Sami that needed to be said or not? I really enjoyed that whole fiasco, especially Joe M.’s performance. It’s about time he got a good script. I realize there were so many things wrong, on so many levels, with the whole scene, like how many times are people just going to walk into the DiMera casa without ringing the bell or knocking, and then being ‘invited’ in; how many times did Stefano tell Sami to get out of his house; do you think maybe Rafe should have reminded Sami and E.J. that it is illegal to record someone without their knowledge; shouldn’t Roman have reminded Sami, Rafe and E.J. that their plan was crazy from the start, not to mention illegal; shouldn’t Rafe have known that as a "former" FBI agent, he no longer has the right to wire-tap anyone, even if he expects to gain information regarding the commission of a crime; and so on, and so forth. BUT, all that being said, it was still my favorite part of the show yesterday. Stefano was so cool ripping Sami apart, at least up until he discovered the wire and ripped her shirt apart instead. His one-liners were great, as usual. He totally frustrated her with some very truthful accusations, forcing her to give herself and her motive for being there away. Loved every part of their scenes yesterday, especially him calling E.J. "Judas." I don’t think even Stefano realizes how close he was to the truth with that statement to E.J., as I am still of the opinion that E.J. is behind all of this. JMHO!

When Stephano told Sami she "couldn’t even keep her pretend baby alive" and Rafe just went in there after him, I was sooo rooting for Rafe!! Love how he protects her, no matter what. Great scenes all around! Though, gotta say, I really don’t know what to make of EJ right now. After watching today, with the whole drug dealer storyline, I can’t tell if he wants to be good, wants to be bad, or just is playing everyone. You can tell he has geniune feelings for Sami and wants to be with his daughter, yet continues in the family business – after declaring how much he hates Stephano and never wants to be like him. Really don’t know what he’s doing or who he’s playing. But, any time Sami and Stephano spar, it’s entertaining and gripping. Two amazing actors and the accusations really fly between the two of them! Loved it!!!

Although it may not be admissable in a court of law, it is your right to record their conversation with you without their permission.
December 17, 2009 at 3:02 pm #8511PattiParticipantIt depends on the state. In most states If you are recording someone without their knowledge you are violating the wiretapping law and may be subject to fines and/or even jail time, depending on the state law, or you can expose yourself to a civil lawsuit (see California wiretapping laws, as an example of state law).
Maybe somebody should have given Linda Tripp a "heads-up" when she decided to tape her telephone conversations with Monica Lewinsky. Sure, she did a lot of damage, but in the end she lost practically everything she owned.
December 17, 2009 at 3:30 pm #8513luckeyParticipantOhio it is not illegal to tape your conversation with someone else, whether they know they are being taped or not. It’s called one-party consent meaning that only one of the persons in a two-party conversation needs to know that it is being taped…even if that one knowledgeable person is the one doing the taping. Laws do vary from state to state.
