it can’t compare to AI.  Too much glitz, glamour and talking between performances for me.  Best part was when the guy dropped his pants on stage and showed "it all" (blurred, of course, to television audience).  Ridiculous display and I’m surprised he wasn’t immediately escorted off the stage.  Unless something changes dramatically, I don’t think it’s going to come anywhere close to the success of AI.  JMO.

but the one girl who sang Aretha Franklin’s Natural Woman blew me off my seat. Like the judges, I too, had never heard a better audition. Where has this girl been?!
It appears, early on, to be much more formal and restrained than AI. But again, I didn’t see much and that could change.

way for Simon to "stroke" his ego – AI is a much better show.  The XF was like a frog in a blender – march the contestants on and march them off…and the part about the guy with the dropped pants – Where the he LL was security?  Surely since there were kids 14 years old as contestants, there must have been young people in the audience as well.  That part of the show was done for ratings for as long as they let it go on, right down to Paula’s being sick.  The good contestants were good, but you only got to see about three of them in the entire show.  I’m not wasting any of my time to watch this one…to many others to enjoy.

can’t say I was impressed.  It was 30 minutes before we saw any talent at all.  They need to show fewer doofuses and more potential talent.  And the judges comments are too contrived.  It’s almost like they have a menu of responses they pick from.

I will say the guy that sung the Elvis song was great.  Not that his singing was so good but he was pure entertainment.  Paula told him to drop the Michael Jackson moves but I thought that was the best part of him.  He moved BETTER than Jackson.

Maybe once they get through all the auditions it’ll be better.  I know it was a huge hit in Great Britian.

I have to say, the contestants I’ve seen (and I’ve only watched here and there) that have been good have been phenomenally good. I feel the show would improve if the one lady judge – don’t know her or her qualifications – would be dropped. I find her not useful or interesting at all. Three judges would be plenty.

and she is a former member of The Pussycat Dolls.  She was a season 10 contestant on DWTS which she won with Derek Hough.  She is also a record producer so she probably actually has more qualifications than Paula, who is mainly just a choreographer.

I dont think i’m going to watch it.  i just watched a few minutes of it last night and it just looked like a bad knock off of AI.  I’ll just wait til Janurary til the real one comes back!!!!!!!!!!!

and Simon Cowell looks like he just stepped out of a dirty laundry bag?  Honestly, would it kill the guy to throw that damned wrinkled tee-shirt away for his own show, in which he claims he has invested $5 million of his own money.  He looks like a bum next to the other judges.

she needs to step up the comments. Maybe once she gets settled in she’ll have more to say, but she seemed rather redundant.

Everybody else was all dressed up and he’s just in a t-shirt, and a white one at that.  At least he could have worn a colored.

Don was wondering where the police were as that was public nudity and indecency and isn’t that still a crime.  There were kids in the audience and they showed one woman running down the aisle with her young child ahead of her).  I think Paula’s nausea and bathroom scene was staged for the show though.

it doesn’t hold a candle to AI.

I’ve watched here and there. The contestants have now been separated into groups – ala gals, guys, over 30s – and are being “mentored” by the judges at these lavish homes. There are a few contestants quite good. But it’s not a program by any means I’ve viewed regularly and it lacks the excitement and spontaneity of AI.
