that I’m just not comfortable with. First of all, doesn’t she look a lot (and act) like Melanie? Her mouth and expressions especially. They could very easily pass for sisters.
Her eyes are strange in that often you can see the white all the way around her pupils. It gives her kind of a surprised look. And the way she stares at Eric when he’s talking just makes me feel uncomfortable, like she’s hiding something.
I could be way off base here but that’s the feeling I’m getting about her right now. I was very surprised to find them in bed together in the flashbacks. How long before they are back there do you think?
December 11, 2014 at 2:33 pm #46096caseyParticipantwhen she saw Marlena was pretty intense, unless it was just that she was relating to her as Eric’s mother. She does seem a bit too good to be true and knowing Days I would guess maybe a skeleton or two in the closet.
I did not see a Mel resemblance but I’ll look for that.December 12, 2014 at 3:26 am #46099JohnnyboyParticipantPeople knocked Melanie for the way she smiles….
Serena with her eyes…….
Other members have been criticized for their mannerisms and such….
I say let’s just enjoy their performances and not petty appearances….
The show has been in a funk lately with plots and such….Let’s try to
find a few positives about the show we have grown to love….
I have watched it since 1968 continuously and maybe there have been
some better acting performances than others……
I know some characters are irksome and some we love, which is what
keeps us coming back for more…It is a healthy addiction and if Days were
ever cancelled I would likely get rid of my cable because that is pretty
well the only show I watch….
Even a 60 year old guy like myself appreciates those sands in the hourglass!December 12, 2014 at 5:54 am #46100BonbonParticipantThere was no criticism in my post whatsoever. I was making an observation about her eyes, not good, not bad, just what I saw. No different that if I had said her hair was really long or she’s pretty tall.
Okay, you got one year of viewership on me but I have 15 of age on you and I feel totally justified in making comments about the characters, good bad or indifferent. When there is something positive to post, I’m happy to do so but right now I can’t say much in that area. Not only has the show been in a funk, it’s buried in mire up to it’s hourglass’s top level.
December 12, 2014 at 11:24 am #46101PattiParticipantthat this board is nowhere near as critical toward the cast (be it a character or the actual actor portraying him/her) as they are on other message boards; however, that being said, I will say that the way your post reads is music to my ears. All 4 soaps are doing poorly when compared to the "good old days", and clearly soap operas themselves are in jeopardy; although I truly believe it’s the writing more than anything else.
December 12, 2014 at 2:22 pm #46103MKParticipantThere was nothing wrong with your post, Bonbon, and there is nothing wrong with making observations about a character’s quirks/mannerisms/features. We all do it.
December 12, 2014 at 5:40 pm #46104maxineParticipantI agree with you Johnnyboy.
December 16, 2014 at 12:58 am #46133PattiParticipantother than the actress portraying her, that I love Serena already. The way she handled Ann Milbauer today just made me stand and applaud this woman. She mentioned when she first appeared that she didn’t scare easily, and she proved that to me today. Of course, anyone who succeeds in putting Ann and Theresa in their places always makes me smile. Jennifer was right….having her and Mel, as well as Jen and Abbey, all working at the hospital is going to be a lot of fun for me. Talk about the taming of the shrews!!! I love it!!!
December 16, 2014 at 2:33 pm #46136caseyParticipantShe seems awfully assertive with Eric for just seeing him again. And is it just some coincidence she’s got a job in Salem right now?
December 16, 2014 at 5:33 pm #46139PattiParticipantso I’m betting she’s got some sort of skeleton hidden in her closet. Where did she come from and why, and what’s her and Melanie’s connection? I hope she doesn’t turn out to simply be another villainous character. Lord knows, we have enough of those women on board already.
December 16, 2014 at 8:36 pm #46140justwonderingParticipantIt seems like Serena is in a huge hurry to get in with Eric. I would think that he would be very hesitant to get involve with anyone so soon after leaving the church!!
She seems like a phoney.
Also what is it that she is always in a rush and late for a "meeting".
December 16, 2014 at 8:57 pm #46141dvalParticipantthey were a pretty hot item back in Africa until Eric decided to become a priest. I guess she has just been smoldering for all those years and now is in a rush to have those embers flamed, LOL.
She said today that she is always late for everything, so I guess that is just going to be her little quirk.
Overall I am liking Serena. Although everyone else who knew her seems to be crazy about her too so I am sure there must be something wrong with her, LOL.
December 16, 2014 at 10:24 pm #46142lynnekarenParticipantThat I notice. Yes, I went there, but it’s distracting to me.
