Participanthow bad is it? It’s so bad that nobody even has any comments to make. I don’t think I’ve ever seen the group this dead.

ParticipantBonbon, you made me laugh! How true!
Speaking of bad, I was laughing yesterday when Daniel was talking to Jennifer on the bed in her hospital room. Their hair looked so bad! Jennifer’s was way too flat ironed and put in various barrets and the color was weird. Daniel’s hair is usually kind of messy but yesterday it was totally flat on top. It just looked like there was a hard rain that rained only on their two heads. Bizarre! But that was the highlight of the show for me. It gave me a laugh.

Participantthat while other soaps have been lauded with nominations/awards, Days rarely has? Why is it that Days has brought in a slew of writing teams and none has offered anything fresh or interesting? That tells me it comes from the top and as the saying goes, you cut off the head and the body dies.

ParticipantDays has always done well with the Soap Opera Awards (used to frequently sweep them) but has, for years, been consistently snubbed by the Daytime Emmys. I can’t even remember what the reason for it was anymore but I thought with so few soaps left that would surely change, but, nope, they don’t even get nominations, let alone awards.
Without writing a terribly long post, IMO, there are good things these writers are doing. They have come up with some interesting stories, they’re not letting things drag out forever, I think the directing has been great as are costumes, make-up, hair, set decoration, lighting, and all the other stuff.
What I’m having a problem with is the boring dialogue being thrown at us day after day. It pretty much consists of us watching two people consulting, consoling or chastizing each other. AND, rehashing the same lines over and over, e.g. Daniel/Jen/Maggie and Sami/EJ/Rafe and John/Marlena/Kristin. And now it’s starting with Gabby/Will/Nick.
