I really enjoyed today’s show. well except for Lexi’s doom and gloom face, esp since we know that Sami is going to be just fine. Loved the beach scene from everyone telling T what a complete jack ass he is being. i thought it was a fun scene after he left. I also really enjoyed Jenn and Dan today, I’m really liking them now. of course JAck is going to be here soon to throw it all away. ugh, soooooo not looking forward to that at all. also loved seeing sami, Rafe and Roman eating the icecream. so cute. i so hope the new writers use Roman more, maybe he’ll be involved with Carrie and Austin. I also thought Carly did an awesome job too.
August 31, 2011 at 9:59 am #26221BonbonParticipantI agree, Carly did a great job but I was really getting tired of listening to that. But isn’t that new psychiatrist great? I really, really liked her. She reminded me a lot of Catherine Zeta-Jones. I wonder how long she’ll be around.
August 31, 2011 at 2:08 pm #26225MKParticipantI think the actress playing the psychiatrist is Sydney Penny. It looks like her. I think she was in another soap, maybe "All My Children" for a while but I know her from "The Thorn Birds". She played the role of the young Meggie.
August 31, 2011 at 3:02 pm #26228PattiParticipantand I knew I remembered her from AMC, but I completely forgot about her role as a young Meggie in The Thorn Birds. She certainly did a great job in both, and I’m enjoying her on now on Days. Unfortunately, I don’t believe it’s a long-term role, but she would be quite an asset, especially with Marlena returning. Salem could certainly use more than one psychiatrist, that’s for sure.
August 31, 2011 at 10:17 pm #26231SWParticipantshe played Kim Zimmer’s (Guiding Light) daughter and married a guy that’s on B&B. Sorry, brain is tired and I don’t remember their character names but they married in the final episode of SB.
September 2, 2011 at 1:59 am #26255luckeyParticipantseen her before. I’ve always enjoyed watching her act. "Thorn Birds" is one of my favorite books and movies. I was reading it while I was in the hospital after the birth of our son in 1979.
September 2, 2011 at 9:00 pm #26287MKParticipantThe "Thorn Birds" is my favorite mini-series of all time! I was 15 when it first aired on television and at that time, I didn’t even know who Richard Chamberlain was. I remember being initially disappointed that I didn’t recognize the actor from anything. How quickly that feeling changed!!! During the movie, I developed a huge crush on him and by the time it was over, I was so infatuated with him! I even did a high-school book report on "Thorn Birds". I am not as ga-ga over him now, but I still like seeing him on tv. I think I’ve seen most things he’s been in, with the exception of "Dr. Kildare" which was before my time. I also saw him on stage when he came to Boston years ago in "My Fair Lady".
September 3, 2011 at 12:47 am #26296BonbonParticipantas a gay guy. Unfortunately, time has not been very good to him.
September 3, 2011 at 1:08 am #26297luckeyParticipantwhen that show was on TV and I was absolutely "in love" with him! My best friend was a "Ben Casey" fan, so we were always at odds about these two cool doctors. Those were the two doctor shows that were on TV at the time and very popular. I just googled the show and it was on from 1961-66, so I was 11 when it started and 16 when it went off the air. Geez, how could it have been that long ago!!
September 3, 2011 at 2:05 am #26299DeeLanParticipantAbout the same time as Mr. Novak. I don’t remember who played him but I had a crush on him and of course Ben Casey. Not too much Dr. Kildare.
September 3, 2011 at 11:36 am #26303SWParticipantRichard Chamberland was (is) gay. Back then a lot of gay guys hid their sexual preference. They were always in shows where they were romantic type heroes for women but they obviously weren’t interested in women in real life.
September 3, 2011 at 11:45 am #26305BonbonParticipantHe’s got certain mannerisms that make him look like he is.
I loved him in The Thornbirds too, he was soooo sexy. That was a great show. After reading the book (which I absolutely couldn’t put down) I HAD to see the series.
September 3, 2011 at 12:29 pm #26306DeeLanParticipantat age 69 in his tell all biography Shattered Love.

I thought his acting and mannerisms changed when he came back to the US after years of acting in England
September 3, 2011 at 12:49 pm #26308PattiParticipantHe was another hottie from that era.
