Loved it when Sydney called Nicole. Ari’s smile always makes me smile. Glad the writers allowed EJ to do something nice too.
Loved the last camera shot today. Focused on baby Jesus as Christmas should be.
Loved Sami giving the thumbs up to Eric when they were singing at mass. Wonder if that was an ad lib by Ali?
Very cool with Hope "attending" the Horton tree decorating via Skype.
I miss Alice. Every time they show her and Tom’s ornaments I get all misty.
Merry Christmas everyone with an hour to spare!
December 26, 2012 at 1:40 pm #36933goodolddaysParticipantI agree. I loved the focus on Christmas, and the last shot of the manger scene. Loved the ornament hanging as usual, it always makes me tear up. It was a great sentimental episode.
December 26, 2012 at 3:15 pm #36934PattiParticipanteverything about the show screamed "Christmas," and that’s what it’s all about for me. The characters will return to stupidity soon enough, but for now the holidays were displayed beautifully and I could not have been happier about that.
They really need to recast Sydney. That child has no talent whatsoever and holds chemistry with absolutely no one.
December 26, 2012 at 7:25 pm #36935bradysgmaParticipantSydney sure had a sad or bored expression today (Dec.26) when she was sitting on the bench at Horton Square with Sammi and the penguin.
December 26, 2012 at 8:25 pm #36937majencoParticipantI loved the episode but I have to admit the singing in church was funny. No one even knew the words well enough to lip sync to the 3 part harmonies that were obviously sung by a non existant choir. Very funny!
December 26, 2012 at 11:17 pm #36938caseyParticipantwith all the young actors out there, to settle on this no expression actress drags down scenes. I love seeing Doug and Julie and the decorations were great.
December 26, 2012 at 11:21 pm #36939powerpaw2ParticipantAnd it’s a shame. I’ll bet they know all of the commercialized songs, but not the ones that describe the true meaning of Christmas.
I did notice Ari knew the words as did a handful of the others. What really cracks me up is Salem seems to be the biggest little town around and other than three or four other folks, the main cast members were the only ones attending mass.
December 27, 2012 at 11:36 am #36941BonbonParticipantI said this before but still believe it. Sidney is someone’s relative and there is some nepotism going on, And that is fine if they can improve their part but I see no hope for this little girl.
December 27, 2012 at 5:58 pm #36944luckeyParticipantgiving this beautiful Christmas homily during Mass that was to be so heartfelt, but I didn’t see it. Did they mean that private discussion he had with God before Mass when no one was around?
December 28, 2012 at 1:40 am #36947bluebonnetParticipantEven though the first Sydney was so young when she was on the show, she was a pretty good little actress. Remember how she would respond to Nicole? I don’t know why they replaced her. I remember reading something about the fact that the show wanted to age the character, but why? I think I’ll go with Bonbon’s theory.
December 28, 2012 at 1:46 am #36948bluebonnetParticipantIt was so wrong for the camera to keep panning the crowd only to see the people barely moving their mouths and only one or two knowing the words to the song.
December 28, 2012 at 12:53 pm #36953PattiParticipantthis child has no acting ability whatsoever, no chemistry with anyone, and is much more interested in her surroundings than she is with her fellow actors, who are supposed to be mom and dad. The little girl who plays Ally Horton runs rings around the child who plays Sydney. She may be a little older, but Sydney should be getting used to the lights, cameras action by now. I wish they would use Ally more in scenes. The child even looks like she could belong to Ali Sweeney, and she seems comfortable in front of the camera. Too bad the powers that be can’t (or won’t) see that.
December 28, 2012 at 4:53 pm #36957daysfanParticipantbut unfortunately, because she is not EJ’s daughter, she is not allowed screen time! Only EJ’s children are allowed to be in the story. JMO, of course.
