I just have to say that if Chandler Massey is not nominated for a daytime emmy (and win) they may as well stop handing those things out. That kid can act.
December 30, 2011 at 7:09 pm #30039NoraParticipantMe too! I just posted about will in another post! he is amazing! Love him!
December 30, 2011 at 8:22 pm #30040GoodyParticipantis absolutely outstanding!!!!! His emotions seem so real; as a grandmother, I wanted to give him a hug as he cried. I hate that Sami has always caused him so much heartache.

December 30, 2011 at 8:59 pm #30041PattiParticipantshe certainly is NOT the only one causing Will heartache in his life. His refusal to accept that he’s realizing more and more each day that he is gay is playing a huge part in his emotional breakdown right now. I guess it’s easy to blame Sami for EVERYTHING Will is going through, but that, simply put, is just not the case.
December 30, 2011 at 9:53 pm #30043bluebonnetParticipantChandler Massey. He WAS Will today and has been playing that part so completely and perfectly lately. I loved his scenes with Marlena today. I’m usually not a huge Marlena fan, but this week she has been saying all the right things to Will and has been spot on with her advice to him. He just broke my heart today–he is so confused and angry, and thank goodness he turned to Marlena. Their relationship is so believeable; I just hope the writers continue with more of these kinds of scenes.
December 31, 2011 at 2:11 am #30057MoGirlParticipantWill was awesome and as said in this post he WAS WILL today. I too am enjoying Will and Marlena together.
December 31, 2011 at 3:29 am #30061GoodyParticipantI did not say that I hate Sami, nor did I say that she was the only one who caused Will heartaches. Even though you like the character, surely you see that she has caused a lot of heartache in Will’s life.
Even before Will’s birth, she was shuffling everything about his conception around to suit HER wishes. Sami has always put herself before her children.
We all have favorite characters, and it is true that Sami is NOT one of mine, but HATE is far too strong a word.

December 31, 2011 at 4:15 am #30062caseyParticipantof the best relationships going on Days right now. Especially considering Marlena historically has not had much to do with her grandkids. I think both actors make each other shine in these scenes. Chandler’s performance has got to be awards material!
December 31, 2011 at 7:04 am #30063PattiParticipantnot only in Will’s life, but in the lives of many members of her family. I just don’t think it is fair to put ALL of the blame on her. Will is going through some life changing anxiety right now, and I feel that Sami is a forefront for much of his trauma. It’s much easier for him to blame Sami for his guilt than it is to admit that he has other reasons for it. You said you felt so bad that Sami has caused Will so much heartache. All I’m saying is that Sami is not the sole reason for the trauma in his life. She seems to be trying very hard to make Will tell her why he is acting out, but Will is so, and I use this word loosely, "ashamed" of his true feelings that he feels it is easier to blame his mother for it than he is to admit, even to himself, the truth, which is that he is finally realizing his own identity. And, although we all have our favorite characters, whether we love them, hate them, or love to hate them, I think sometimes it’s easier to blame Sami than to look deeper to discover the truth hidden beneath the trauma. I’m sorry if I offended your POV, but sometimes I think Sami is road-kill, no matter what the situation. You might not come out and say you "hate" the character, I have to say that I perceive comments about Sami by many here that she is a hopeless character who doesn’t love her children and thinks only of herself, and many times this is true. I just think in this particular instance, Sami is being used as an excuse for Will’s deep, hidden feelings, so it’s much easier to blame Sami than for Will to admit what is really tearing him apart, and I think that will soon become evident. Sorry, Goody, if I offended you with my response. I just think Sami is a perfect excuse for Will’s actions right now. Love ya’, and hope we’re still DOOL buddies, no matter what each other’s POV’s are.

Happy New Year.

December 31, 2011 at 3:01 pm #30067luckeyParticipantscenario here than most others. I don’t see any correlation between Will’s realizing he’s gay and Sami’s tryst with EJ. I see Will trying to deal with two completely devastating issues that just happened to be crashing down on him at the same time. Patti, you say "he feels it is easier to blame his mother for it than he is to admit, even to himself, the truth, which is that he is finally realizing his own identity." I see him struggling with the fact that he just couldn’t be what Gabby needed when he so wanted to be exactly that. To me, therein lies his struggle with his identity…nothing to do with Sami. Then he has to witness his mother spouting all of this rhetoric about how much she loves Rafe and is so lucky to have him in her life…even to the point of renewing her vows with him…when Will knows for a fact that Sami broke those vows. Maybe I’m hearing a completely different conversation between Will and Marlena; but, I just recall him saying how confused he is and not knowing what to do about it. He is confused for sure…about his sexuality AND his mother’s dishonesty, which has nothing to do with his sexual orientation.
December 31, 2011 at 4:01 pm #30069mommytutuParticipantthe same thing on the annex. He’s doing such a great job that he better be nominated. What a treasure Days has in this young actor.
January 19, 2012 at 11:40 pm #30507Sugar PlumParticipantI agree 100%! I particularly love his scenes with "Grandma," Diedra Hall–a seasoned veteran and a relative newcomer, and Chandler holds his own all the way.
January 22, 2012 at 4:42 am #30543powerpaw2ParticipantSometimes I’ll rewind scenes with him in it just because he does such a great job.
January 22, 2012 at 5:40 am #30544jessad7ParticipantI think he’s doing great, too. I’m confused why we haven’t seen Kate’s reaction to Will working for EJ, though. Even if Kate doesn’t find out (right away) about the Sami/EJ tryst, if she found out it was Will and not Lucas that shot EJ, she would find a way to get Will out of this situation. She would protect him before she would protect EJ.
