I wasn’t paying full attention but when Trask pulled out that photo is it possible she is really Haley’s mother instead of sister? That could explain the age difference.
Maybe Haley really is legal! Track could have had her at a young age, left her with her parents in China and immigrated to the US. Honestly, that would be the best story because it lets everyone off the hook and only Trask, who is a minor character, ends up being made to look bad.

she told Haley that she had something important to talk to her about, but then Tripp came in and she never finished talking to Haley. Maybe Melinda’s being Haley’s mother was the important thing she had to tell Haley.
