This one’s (Gab,Ab,Chad) hard to figure as Chad does seem commited to Abby and very sincere in his feelings ala today’s show. I got the impression he was putting Gabi aside for good, especially with the crumbling flower thing. But will he?
Also, this was an episode where I actually foun Abby likable.Gabi will be moving on soon.
Sorry to change the subject; I found it hard to get into the funeral since David was off screen for soooooo long and just feel this story was made up to introduce Eli.
supposed to feel much of anything when this guy was never mentioned except for longtime Days viewers way back. Suddenly Julie is all remorseful and broken – though I did appreciate her outspoken honesty. BTW, I thought she was looking quite lovely.
I found the entire scene awkward. I like Julie, but her acting was really bad. The people not there, spoke volumes to how pathetic and rushed this was. Hope was "sick," Jennifer was "out of town on an assignment," and where was his son Scotty? If Scotty called Julie to tell her of David’s death, why did he come to the funeral and comfort his grandmother. They could have cast anyone to be Scotty for a day. What crappy writing!
I also thought it odd to have such a funeral for a character that was out of sight and mind …even Julie’s…for decades. He was hopes stepbrother/nephew (?) . You think she would be there or be so sick she was in that Hospital room

(like once, when we saw them kiss multiple times), but at no time did he tell her that he told Gabi he still loved her, or her him. That was pretty dishonest as far as I’m concerned, or at the very least selective memory on his part. I do believe his desire for Gabi will fade and end game will be Abbey.
As for the David funeral, I agree with everyone that this was totally overdone. I almost forgot this character, David Banning, existed, and as much as I love SSH, she does tend to over-act, IMO!
And Hope had food poisoning from whatever her and Rafe did/ate in the park I guess because she was perfectly fine the day before. How sick do you have to be to miss your (?) stepbrothers funeral?!
It pains me. Nu Abby and Chad have the chemistry equivalent of watching paint dry. SO boring. And why is she always SO pale looking?!? Red is NOT her color.
Now Chad & Gabi as well as Abby & Dario have MUCH more chemistry. I dunno – Marci is a fine actress thus far (no Kate Mansi obviously but solid) but Chad and her just don’t do it for me. Maybe it’s the recast or maybe it’s chemistry – I dunno.
And at least ELI can act (and is nice to look at.)
