Paulina says she is losing her mind not knowing whats going on. Eli goes to find out.
Kayla in surgery, they are losing Abe
John with the devil. “Aren’t you the clever one, John Black? Your precious Marlena is mine now.”
John says my dear God and Marlena appears behind him “you’ve confused me with the other guy – let me clarify for you” MarDevil makes the cross on the wall turn upside down
John says leave her alone! Release her this instance! The devil says after all the effort I put into possessing her? I don’t think so. John calls I am here for you Doc! I will never give up on you
MarDevil says one more step and I will hurt her. John won’t let her and he reaches for the holy water. The devil says you think I am not prepared? She puts her hand in the water and it turns red and boils. She asks any more ideas?
Julie gets to the hospital, comforts Paulina. Hopefully Abe is past the worst of it. Eli walks into surgery (thats so annoying) and here’s the monitor flatline, he asks whats going on?? Kayla says grimly “he’s gone”
Abe is walking in a garden by a white bench in a white sweater and white light. He’s looking around and calls Lexie? Someone blurred by white light says “Hello Abe
John is praying “in the name of the Father, Son and the Holy Spirit” and MarDevil shouts knock it off!! She says this just makes her want to hurt Marlena. John rushes for her but she appears across the room
MarDevil tells John that he can kill Marlena in an instant – thats what he was going to do to Doug, thats why Marlena let him in “We are back together again!”
Julie tells Paulina to sit, tells her congrats on your engagement! She says they’ve known Abe forever, thats why they were so happy when Lani married Eli. Paulina asks how long they’ve known him
Julie says its been 40 years – he was working on a case with my son David. Eli says so that’s it, you give up? Kayla says well its a long shot but I am going to keep trying
Abe says he sees her face in Theo. Lexie says you raised him well. Abe won’t take credit, she was there and she is in his heart and in his smile. He tells Lexie she is there always. He takes her in his arms with tears in his eyes
The devil says the first time he took control of Marlena she was alone and in despair – made his job so easy. “But now…” John says she is surrounded by people who love her. The devil says yes, it made a very effective shield
MarDevil says John and Marlena’s deep love made her stronger than ever. The devil talks about Marlena killing all those people but then they were alive – even Abe. “I guess he is not so lucky right now
Paulina says she first saw Abe 8 months ago but she feels like she has known him forever. We get a fb of them meeting
Eli comes out and Paulina asks is Abe going to be alright? Kayla still doing chest compressions saying come back to us
Abe telling Lexie (we only see her back) that he was just looking through photo albums, they were so young and in love and then there were 3 of us. She says “you, me and our precious Theo
Ok, good flashback!! Abe and Lexie talking about having a child. Lexie wants a baby so much, no matter what they have to do. Abe says so does he but even just the two of them, thats enough for him
In this flashback Lexie clearly looks worried LOL but I guess they had to use what they had
Another fb – Lexie says something happened today after we decided to try again. She is so excited and Abe laughs just tell me! She says honey we are having a baby!
Abe says and 9 months later there he was “our Theo, our miracle
Abe says Lexie lives on in Theo “and so will we both.”
Abe and Lexie on the bench in Heaven’s waiting room. He tells her there was another album with pics of us and I saw the sadness in our eyes. He says it made him wish he had been kinder, more compassionate
Abe sees with the perspective of time what kind of struggle she had and how much she had to overcome. FB to Abe asking Lexie about the baby switch
FB Abe can’t believe what Lexie did. It won’t buy her love or happiness or another child. Lexie cries “Abe….” Abe says Lexie above all the other people because she was so jealous and selfish
FB Abe is sick about what they did. They just talked about forever when it should have been never. Abe now says there are always difficult times but that hardest thing for him was losing her
Eli says they are still working on Abe. Paulina does not have a good feeling about this. Julie suggests they go to St Lukes
MarDevil says he thought he had his chance when Marlena felt so guilty about what Andre made her do but then everyone was alive and she was blameless
ohn calls her Doc and MarDevil says there is no Doc – only what I create
MarDevil says Stefano created a situation where Marlena thought John was killed and she was distraught. John says yes but then she found out I was alive and MarDevil snarks yes and you got back together like you always do. “That’s when I found Doug”
MarDevil says Doug tried to tell you about me but he’s been taken care off. She says he can’t have visitors, not even his cute but annoying wife
MarDevil says Doug was taken care of and he was the only one who knew about me but now you know about me. The devils voice deepens and says “We have a problem”
Lani says she has been putting off Theo and Brandon but doesn’t want to wait anymore. Eli asks if she wants him to make the call and she says no, just don’t leave
Lani calls Theo, she says something happened – its Dad
Julie helps Paulina to pour water since her hands are shaking. Paulina says she never falls apart, she hates being so helpless. Julie understands, they wouldn’t let her see Doug. Paulina is surprised
Julie thinks Abe and Doug know they are with them but until they can hold them, can they just be there for each other? Julie says we get each other, don’t we? Paulina says yeah, you and me – we got the same chip
Abe says Lexie wanted to make it easier for him to lose her and he wanted her to think she had succeeded. FB to the same bench when Lexie died in Abe’s arms
Abe is trying to wake up Lexie and realizes she has died.
FB Abe starts to kiss her face and cry “wake up sweetheart – oh god oh god”
Abe takes Lexie’s hand and stands and smiles “now my love, we will be together again.” Lexie says no Abe – we can’t
MarDevil says he knew it wouldn’t take John to figure it out but he has picked up new techniques over the decades. John says he beat the devil once and he leans in “I am going to beat you again.
I am going to beat you again – because the love that Doc and I share is stronger than any bond you will ever have on her. I am going to get my wife back and I am not going to leave this church until I take her with me.
MarDevil tilts her head and smiles, amused at John.
MarDevil shouts you are wasting your time! “She has given herself to me completely. She is lost to you
“I’ll never believe that! Listen to me Doc! I know what you are going thru right now and I am here for you – don’t surrender!” The devil shouts she can’t hear you!
We hear Marlena’s voice as John shouts I LOVE YOU “yes I can! I hear you and I feel you, your love is making me stronger! I’m trying John!
MarDevil is weakening and John steps close and says Doc? MarDevil stands and shouts SILENCE! and backhands John. The devil compels John to walk forward to him and then backhands him across the room into the wall. MarDevil laughs
Paulina asks how Theo took the news? Lani says is he coming on the first flight. Julie says its a blessing Lani is here, she hopes Lani knows how crazy Abe is about her
Lani says Abe is the dad she always dreamed of and they were robbed of so much time this can’t be the end. Paulina looks uncomfortable
Lexie says she will be there waiting but its not Abe’s time yet. He says he knows that now, his children need him, and his grandchildren and friends, Paulina.
Abe says he has to go back and tells Lexie God bless you. He cups her face and kisses her “I’ll be seeing you in my heart, and so will TheoAbe turns and walks away. He looks back one time and Lexie holds her hand up in goodbye
Kayla is still trying but the nurse says I think its time, we’ve been at this for a while. Kayla says “time of death” and Abe’s heart beats again. Kayla shouts Abe can you hear me??
John is unconscious on the floor and MarDevil says he has waited a lifetime for this. He takes a candle holder and tries to hit John and Marlena says no, I won’t let you kill him!
MarDevil says fine, I won’t kill him. He may be useful. But I can’t leave him here in this condition. He drags John away
Kayla comes out, says Abe still needs to go to surgery but I am optimistic he will pull thru. Lani wants to see him. Paulina swears to be quiet as a mouse. Eli and Julie hug
Abe opens his eyes and says Paulina? He says Lani and she says don’t talk, you opening your eyes is enough for me, you are going to be ok. Paulina says thank you for finding your way back to us, we love you so much
Paulina smiles and Lani and Abe together but also looks concerned. Lexie is in shadows in the back and leaves the room. End
