Gwen realizes she needs to get Xander off the Sarah track.
Nicole receives a visit from Eric.
As a favor to Xander, Maggie speaks to Jack on Gwen’s behalf.
Sami agrees to hear EJ’s side of the story.

begins with Nicole at home reading on her iPad “Father saves mother” lmao. She says if anyone can do it it’s you. Eric is at her door.
Jack brings Maggie in and she and Jennifer hug. Maggie says she wanted to stay close to Victor and Jen asks about Philip. Maggie says they’re staying positive
Maggie noticed the tree is down. Jen says they were up early and decided to pack it all up. They show her Laura’s angel and offer her food. Maggie says she’s not there for that – she wants to talk to Jack about Gwen
Gwen watching Xander sleep and having a fb about Xander saying he has to find Sarah and find out why she lied. She says to herself poor Sarah stuck on a desert island pining for X but she can’t lose him
Abby is clear in too a puzzle, Chad says the kids are on a play date with Jackson and Rosie. They talk about it being quiet and how they don’t miss EJ and his stupid accent. EJ walks in and says oh you missed me?
Lucas is in the pub and Sami appears in the doorway. She says she has to talk to him. He asks about her mother and she says she is fine – and devil free. She says she went to see Jason and he admitted Lucas kidnapped her
Lucas says wait wait and tells her he loves her as Sami yells at him. He says he never meant to hurt her! He is shouting he was desperate and she says Rafe is coming to arrest him and she hates him! Psyche it was all fake
Sami was talking to Lucas the EJ was the next scene. I forgot how to tweet today LOL
Abby says that’s ridiculous why would Chad do that? EJ says Chad wants to run DiMera without him. Or maybe it’s because EJ is playing John. Abby says that movie might not even happen
EJ says it could be Rafe or Lucas. Lucas covers – sorry he spaced out he was thinking about Philip. Sami says Jason stuck to his story that EJ was the kidnapper
Lucas asks if Sami is ready to give up on EJ now. She looks torn
Nicoke says hey…..Father. Eric is sure she wasn’t expecting this. She says actually she just read about it. She is glad Marlena is ok and isn’t surprised Eric returned to the priesthood – it’s his true calling
Eric says he felt at peace with his choice to return to the priesthood but he’s not saying that their marriage was the wrong choice. Nicole jokes with tears in her eyes that at least she ruined him for all other women
Maggie is talking about Sarah, how badly she hurt Xander and she doesn’t understand it. But if Gwen reconciling with her father made her happy and that would make Xander happy she would feel like she’s repaying Sarah’s debt.
Xander wakes up, says he slept like the dead. He’s excited about New Years – out with the ok’d and embrace the new. He asks what Gwen meant when she said she has to get him off the Sarah track – he heard the last thing she said as he was waking up
Nicole broke my heart a little. Trying to smile and be happy for Eric that he found his calling but heartbroken and unable to stop the tears in her eyes
Xander says so when you say out with the old – you’re talking about Sarah? Gwen says not specifically but what good can come from you chasing her? X says Gwen can’t blame him for wanting to know if Sarah regrets it
X says Rex says Sarah jilted him too. Gwen points out she’s not around, she doesn’t want you either. X says thanks a lot for pointing that out. She says look darling, I’m your girlfriend and we were supposed to be in London
Gwen says Xander is ruminating about Sarah and she is his girlfriend – she is the one who needs compassion and reassurance it’s her
Eric smiles, she’s making jokes – she can’t be too upset. She says what she is is sad that their marriage ended but when it did he was free to choose his future. She wants what’s best for him. He wants the same for her “I just want you to be happy
Eric says this is his awkward way of asking if she is seeing anyone. She says yes – EJ. “I know as partners go he falls a little short of Jesus
Eric says he can’t be happy for her being with the man who kidnapped his sister
Sami still doesn’t believe it’s EJ – why wouldn’t he grab her at the house? Lucas says who then?
Abby defends Lucas, he would never do this. EJ says well even though tomorrow is a holiday the markets are still open – let’s head to the office. Chad says really? Why would you go anywhere near the office
Xander is sorry. He doesn’t want Sarah back, he’s just concerned. Something about this doesn’t add up
X points out Sarah has been sending Maggie texts how happy she is with Rex. Gwen says not all daughters want their mothers to know what’s happening in their lives
Xander say Maggie and Sarah were super close. Gwen says before her mother overdosed there were tons of secrets she kept from her mom. Xander says Maggie was a great mom to Sarah it’s not like thatGwen says she doesn’t know about that, Maggie is an addict too? Xander gets offended – why is she down on Maggie
Maggie is there as an advocate for Gwen to help Xander. She said Xander would like to be his friend again too and Jack says that our friendships over. He says Xander hurt everyone including Abigail.
Nicole says that EJ told her he didn’t do it and she believes him and she says Eric’s boss says there’s good in everyone. Eric says that’s true. Nicole asks what brought him by
Eric says he wanted to say hello before he went back to Africa. He has to go say hello to Roman and then he’s heading to the airport. Nicole says she’ll miss him and Eric says he will miss her too and they hug. Nicole is crying and Eric is affected also
Eric says he meant what he said – he just wants Nicole to be happy
Chad says EJ should stay away so the board doesn’t get upset. EJ is frustrated – says he’s innocent. Chad says EJ should keep a low profile and let Chad be the face of DE for now
Lucas is still trying to convince Sami that it was EJ – he says who else could it have been?
Gwen is just saying before Maggie got sober her addiction probably caused trust issues with Sarah. Xander says he’s never seen that and Maggie’s been a good friend to him – and her
Gwen says what did Maggie do for her – she must have missed the all is forgiven note from Jack. X doesn’t know how Maggie’s talk went so he’s gonna go talk to her and then he can ask about Sarah also. He says they they can put it behind them
Maggie hugs Jack and Jennifer goodbye and heads out. Jen says that was unexpected – and she says the holidays are a time for families to come together
Jen says she supports Jack no matter what. Jack says yes but will Abigail?
EJ agrees to hold back for now but once he clears his name he’s back behind his desk. Chad is going to update Shin and Abby is going to her parents
Chad wishes EJ a happy new year and EJ takes out his phone when they leave. He calls Sami. She answers and he says it’s good to hear her voice. He says he needs to see her and she hesitates but then says I’ll be right there. Lucas tries to stop her but she leaves
Lucas tells himself he has to put the final nail in the coffin but how? He smiles and says bingo
Jen says that only Abigail can answer that question and Abigail walks in and says what did you want to ask me? Jen takes a call and Jack says it’s not an easy question. Abby guesses it’s about Gwen. Jack says he’s thinking about reconciling with Gwen
Jack knows how much Gwen has hurt her so he won’t do anything until he knows how Abigail feels
Xander is at the mansion. Maggie says she just talked to Jack, to give it some time. Xander is grateful but says he is there about Sarah. He tells Maggie that Rex says he and Sarah were never together. Maggie is shocked
Maggie says oh hmmm I haven’t heard from Sarah in a while. She texted her on Xmas but didn’t get a reply and thought she was out of cell range. Maggie gets upset, this is worrisome
EJ gives himself a pep talk and says you can do this EJ, just tell Samantha the truth, she loves you, she’ll believe you. He opens the door and is surprised “Nicole!
Nicole said she came to check on him and EJ is a little flustered. He turns and there is Sami in the doorway who snaps “what is she doing here?”
Chad on the phone with Shin and he steps out of his (EJs?) office. Lucas sneaks in
Abby says Gwen did hurt her and she’s be happy to never see her again but that hurts Jack so she understands if he wants to rebuild his relationship with Gwen
Jack tells Jen my gracious amazing daughter gave me her blessing. Abby says we’re moving into a new year and she wants to make it a good one. Jack wants to call Gwen but Jen says wait – she has some really big news that’s going to impact all their lives
Maggie tries to call Sarah again and her number is no longer in service. She’s upset and Xander is shocked
Nicole says EJ should have locked the door behind her. Sami tells EJ to have Nicole leave. He says Nicole can hear what he has to say and he swears that he didn’t kidnap her. He says it was Lucas
Lucas is on EJ’s laptop and mutters to himself sorry mom but if you didn’t want me to use your password you shouldn’t have written it down in your planner. Chad comes in and catches him and asks what are you doing here? End
