That was a good old fashioned arse whoopin!
June 13, 2011 at 7:56 pm #24496caseyParticipanta bit too violent. I’m hardly the sensitive type and I sure like EJ finally get his, but I hate seeing someone get beat up to a pulp. Brady has turned quite dark and I thought it was overdone.
June 13, 2011 at 8:48 pm #24499BonbonParticipantBrady was on, that certainly removed any doubt. Not quite a fair fight if you ask me. First of all he has his henchman whack him over the head and then he keeps kicking/punching him even when he was unconscious. Not quite cricket, Brady.
June 13, 2011 at 8:55 pm #2450153tdogsParticipantdrinking he’s been doing lately? (Gee do ya think?) I’m glad they’ve given Brady some meat on this character’s bones but it seems like they are trying to ruin him instead of building this character into an in-depth and interesting character…they were going that way with him for awhile until they dropped him into a bottle and turned him 180.
June 13, 2011 at 9:12 pm #24502PattiParticipantI’m no E.J. fan; BUT, let’s be fair here. It wasn’t a fair fight at all. If Brady’s minion hadn’t knocked him over the head with what looked to be a "blackjack", E.J. might have given him the fight of his life. As it was, he was practically unconscious from the henchman’s blow to his head before Brady started in on him. Well, now I guess the Kiriakis/DiMera war has officially begun, and the sad part is it probably won’t teach E.J. anything at all. I’m sure someone will have seen something or heard something and it will all come out at some point, and then the revenge game will fall into play. Too bad Brady’s motive was mis-directed, because E.J. really didn’t have anything to do with Ariana’s death, and if this is the beginning of Brady’s dark persona, I’m not so sure I like it. I want jail time for E.J. AND Stefano for what they did to Sami and Rafe, not for what happened to Ari, because they had nothing to do with that. Troy was solely responsible for Ari’s death, and Dario saw to it that he was punished for it. As for Nicole, that was pure b/s on Brady’s part considering everything Nicole has done, with Brady’s help, I might add. Shame, shame, shame, Brady — you get no knight in shining armor award from me on this one.
June 13, 2011 at 9:43 pm #24505NoraParticipantI too thought the beating was a bit violent. I cringed quite a few times watching it. almost as bad as watch Kate spew her venom at Jennifer and Daniel. I thought Brady was just about as big as the henchmen. all of today’s show was pretty disgusting if you ask me, from EJ getting the shit beat out of him, to Kate, To hearing TayHor yelling at Sami. Not a great show JMO.
June 13, 2011 at 10:36 pm #24506bluebonnetParticipantmen want to settle things physically, but if Brady really wanted to hurt EJ, then he should have figured out a way to hurt him inside–figured out a way to hurt his heart, if he has one!
June 13, 2011 at 11:09 pm #2450753tdogsParticipantwould have made for a more interesting story line for sure! Too bad the writer’s did not take the initiative.
June 14, 2011 at 2:54 am #24510VikieJParticipantI didn’t like the way the fight took place either…I thought it was really chickens%!* of Brady to have his guy knock EJ in the head before he started beating on him……I’ve always LOVED Brady….looks like the writers are going to trash his character also….GRRRRR
June 14, 2011 at 1:39 pm #24513IzzyBParticipantIt was ok with the fight. It wasn’t too violent for me and I kind of liked the punches one for each thing he has done. I edo think the henchman at the beginning was a little wrong, but I think it is showing Brady now with his "men" like all the baddies have. But I think think this fight served several purposes. First, it puts Brady on the dark side for good and showed he is no longer on the fence. They needed something big to push him completely to the dark side in everyone’s mind and this did it. Do I like the dark Brady? Depends on what he NEW writers do with it, because I know this current ones will just have him drinking all the time in spewing nonsense. Second, it brought back the fued because the two evil corps in Salem. You know eventually someone is going to find out about this and when they do there will be revenge and then revenge on that and so on. If it includes Stephano and Victor and the new writers, I think it could be a very good SL, but we will see. I also think it gets EJ out of commission for awhile which effects the Nicole/Taylor SL and the Rafe/Rafe2/Sami/EJ/Stephano SL. It allows Rafe more time to figure things out because Stephano is going to be all worried about his son and not in the right mind. It slows Nicole down because she can’t do anything with EJ in the hospital and it brings Taylor and EJ closer before the Rafe news is broken to her because she will feel sorry for EJ.
It moves some SLs along quickly, while slowing others down that need some time for other SLs to catch up.
June 14, 2011 at 4:31 pm #24517PattiParticipantbecause E.J. needed a good ass-whippin’; what I found foolish were Brady’s reasons, which were all wrong to begin with; and also that he felt the need to weaken E.J. first and then proceed to pummel him. But that’s not the worst of it for me …. that would be that if Brady had to submit a name and/or reason for each punch he threw AFTER E.J. was nearly unconscious, then the first one should have been "THIS IS FOR SHOOTING MY FATHER."
June 14, 2011 at 5:22 pm #24521powerpaw2ParticipantIt sure seems like the EJ/Nicole/Taylor thing coupled with finding out what really happened with Arianna pushed Brady over the edge. And we know that alcohol usually fuels the proverbial fire. I don’t like the fact that the writers have turned Brady into a full blown alcoholic. Would be more interesting if they had him doing all of this with a clear mind. God knows I’d love to get my hands on the female thugs who robbed/assaulted my mother back in the early 90s.
BTW, Brady’s thug hitting EJ first made me think of a WWE storyline, LOL.
June 14, 2011 at 7:08 pm #24529BonbonParticipantHe took control of Titan away from Victor because he wanted to make it a legitimate business and now he goes and acts like the other big wheel thugs in town. Also, Stefano and Victor had called a truce between the families but this is going to blow that all to hell. I think Brady has opened a can of worms he’s not going to be able to close again. It’s is one bell that can’t be unrung.
June 14, 2011 at 9:52 pm #24533bradysgmaParticipantwould have a little more easy to accept and understsand if Brady hadn’t been trying to kill EJ and might have if Mel hadn’t stopped him. Why didn’t she call 911? EJ could have died and how would she have answered to Stefano about that?
