I don’t know about anybody else, but I thought today’s show was the best it’s been in quite a while.
First, and foremost for me, Christopher Sean (Paul) has been the best find this show has had in years. His acting is fabulous, and today it was him who brought the tears to my eyes. His conversation with his mother and grandfather were so belilevable, so emotional, and he tore me up. I love this young man and hope he stays with the show for a long time.
I feel so bad for Sonny, but Freddie Smith, as well, did a terrific job today. He was fraught with pain today when Derrik revealed that it was Will who has been going to Paul’s room, and after Sonny had time to reflect, through flashbacks, he knew it was true. This is going to be a blockbuster of a story, but first they will all have to get through Sonny’s attack. That knifing almost made me scream out loud. Was it Clyde or Jeremiah or one of Clyde’s other minions? Sonny’s scenes with Victor were also terrific, IMO. Poor Vic trying to apologize for his club doing better than Sonny’s was the last thing on Sonny’s mind, and that will come back to haunt Victor, I’m sure.
I don’t know when Nichole will catch her break, but truth be told, there wasn’t one thing that Melanie said to her today that wasn’t the truth. Nichole is impulsive, makes mistakes, and then makes those same mistakes again and again. Maybe one day she will learn, but until then those mistakes will continue to be her own downfall.
Does Serena have a secret? Yes, she does. But, is it what everyone is thinking? I have not seen anything to prove to me, yet, that she is out to hurt or destroy Eric. All I know is that she is talking to someone on the phone, who we still don’t know a thing about, and she has been given some sort of instruction get that damned elephant. But, how do we know she isn’t the one being blackmailed, and how do we know if this person hasn’t threatened to harm Eric if she doesn’t get it. What does this person have on Serena to make her do this, because I don’t believe things are what they appear to be. Of course, I could be wrong about her, but I think she really does love Eric and this will come out completely different than most people are imagining. I think she’s the one who’s being targeted here, not Eric. But, we’ll see and if I’m wrong, I’ll be first to admit it.
Daniel and Jennifer — please, not again, whether Nikki and Daniel make up or not. I just can’t with those two.
Anyway, things are picking up nicely, and today was a great show. More, please, and good job today writers. These look more like sweeps sls now, and I hope this is just the beginning of the snowball that grows and grows each day. Really enjoyd the entire show today, start to finish!
February 5, 2015 at 2:29 am #46455powerpaw2ParticipantI relocated to FL and just haven’t been watching though I have been reading the comments on the board. Yesterday I caught a few minutes when I came home for lunch and ditto for today.
I absolutely adore Sonny and wanted to go through the TV screen when he got attacked. From what I’ve read, this is payback to Victor for whatever he did to Clyde. Will is a damn fool and is going to lose a really wonderful person.
Daniel and Nicole was just the same recycled dialogue from a few months ago. Y’all know Nicole/Ari is my gal, and I wish they would stop this crap and give Ari a SL that lets her shine like we all know she can.
JJ and Eve is just icky. I feel like I need to take a shower after listening to them talk.
Nice to see Melanie again, but who the heck is Serena? Every time I hear her name, all I can think of is Bewitched.
February 5, 2015 at 2:35 am #46456TFlo1018ParticipantWe agree!!! Christopher is incredible in this role – BRAVO for finding him – now let’s make sure we can flesh him out some more! For the first time EVER – I liked Guy as Will. You know I have had my issues with it being Guy and not Chandler – but for the first time today I said to myself "He’s Will now." They morphed the character of Will so much – and as amazing as Chandler is/was – I’m not sure I’d buy him as a cheater and/or as a confidante for the newly outed Paul. I can compare it to the way Austin was written/re-written. Patrick M. was Austin – and when Austin was dumbed down – well, who plays dumb better than Austin Peck?
The coming out scenes with Paul were amazing. Having lived through all of that I can say it struck a chord. I actually preferred his coming out to Will’s – well done DOOL. Well done!!!
What amazes me is how the same set of writers can write Sonny/Will/Paul but then write JJ/Eve/Paige?!? How the hell does that happen? LOL
February 5, 2015 at 3:29 am #46457dvalParticipantand let me tell you I also had tears in my eyes when Paul was talking to his mother and grandfather. And just let me say Yay to Grandfather for being so much wiser than his family was willing to credit him. I wasn’t sure I liked the actor portraying Paul at first but after today, I hope he sticks around for a long time too Patti.
When that knife went into Sonny, well, I can’t figure out who will feel worse, Victor because he caused it or Will because of what he did.
Lose the Eve/JJ/Paige stuff. When Eve went to Salem U, well as Paige told her, REALLY, who does that to their child? So embarrassing and so totally self-centered of Eve who is only interested in making sure Paige doesn’t find out she is the skank JJ slept with. And hooray for JJ putting it right back on Eve because they share equal blame and she is trying to put it all on him.
February 5, 2015 at 12:29 pm #46458KseeParticipantI thought it was down right CREEPY!! the way Will eves dropped on Paul’s coming out to his Mother! and absolutly none of his freaking business!! Will of all people should know how personal that conversation was to Paul!
February 5, 2015 at 1:50 pm #46459justwonderingParticipantThat was my first reaction. He shouldn’t have been listening to that conversation. It was too personal.
February 5, 2015 at 1:54 pm #46460justwonderingParticipantActually it is more on Eve. She is the mature adult who definitely knows better. Unfortunately she is so love starved that she will go after anyone (Daniel, Eric). Also her scheme made sure she ruined JJ relationship with Paige.
February 5, 2015 at 2:41 pm #46461caseyParticipantWhen he isn’t going after everything in pants, he can show a wide and believeable range of emotion. The grandparents were good as well.
I have to believe the Sonny attack came from Clyde (who thinks he’s really dead?) BTW wouldn’t someone in Vic’s camp have checked to see whether he was really dead? I mean it isn’t like they tossed his body w/ the fishes.
Serena, the way she’s reacted emotionally to Eric seems rather detached to me. I don’t know if this is intentional to throw viewers off or perhaps she is being blackmailed or perhaps truly is a villain. Why is she doing this now? It depends on what Days intends to do with her and Eric as a couple. I liked her briefly in the beginning but certainly have doubts now.
Eve and JJ – please put an end to this torture!February 5, 2015 at 2:50 pm #46462PattiParticipantI can’t wait for this one to blow up. I’m happy to see that Paige is finally putting her in her place where HER (Paige’s) life is concerned, but boy, when she finds out that the person who slept with JJ is her own mother …. well, this will undoubtedly open another umbrella s/l that will affect so many others than just Paige and JJ, and that’s what good writing is all about … getting everyone involved, just like they’re going to be doing with the Will/Sonny/Paul sl. Now if they can stay on this track, I will not be complaining about the show as much. Keep it going writers.
February 5, 2015 at 2:53 pm #46463PattiParticipantwas going try to comfort Paul and wind up sleeping with him again. He still might, because they evidently won’t know what happened to Sonny yet, but I hope Will is not that far gone.
February 5, 2015 at 4:04 pm #46464dvalParticipantBut the second time JJ was fully aware of what he was doing and I don’t think it’s fair to blame on his youthful horny-mones. The first time Eve should have put an end to it beyond a shadow of a doubt but the second time JJ should and could have walked away. He is mature enough to know it’s wrong, he should have been mature enough to say no.
February 5, 2015 at 5:56 pm #46465bluebonnetParticipantmore on Eve, but for different reasons than you state. I think Eve’s doing her daughter wrong is much worse than JJ cheating on his girlfriend. What parent would do something so mean to her/his child? Boy/girl relationships come and go, but a parent/child relationship should be forever.
February 6, 2015 at 12:48 am #46471PattiParticipantactually jealous of Paige, and now that she’s gotten her own claws into JJ, she’s going to try to keep it that way. Now, if that’s not a sicko, I don’t know what is.
February 6, 2015 at 2:17 am #46474dvalParticipantit appears Momma Eve cannot accept she is not the hot young thing her daughter is and is trying to recapture her youth with JJ even if it kills her daughter. Unless her daughter kills her when she finds out and in that case put me on the jury cause I will acquit Paige in a heartbeat, LOL
