Saw this on the IMDB board:
"When Will tries to blackmail EJ, EJ turns the tables on Will by admitting that he knows it was WILL who shot him at his first wedding to Sami and not Lucas!!!"
I think it was from an item in SOD. I can’t verify this, so it may not be correct.

Didn’t we know it was Will that shot EJ? If I remember correctly, Lucas (or someone) found candy/food wrappers at the spot where the shooter waited. The wrappers were from food that Will was known to eat. Lucas figured it was Will who shot EJ and "took the wrap" for his son.
The question is, how did EJ find out?
I’d read that EJ turns the tables and threatens to expose Will as being gay.
The viewers suspected that Will was the actual shooter and that’s why Lucas confessed and refused a trial. The police just suspected the candy wrappers were because kids used that area as a hangout.

of some posters here. Some of what gets posted at sites isn’t true, doesn’t come from the show, and can just be theories on fans’ part. I haven’t seen that in SOD.
And sometimes rumors/opinions/speculations are bantied about for so long, people begin to believe they really happened.
as evidenced by the previews at the end of Friday’s show…. E.J. will not only turn the tables on Will’s poor attempt to blackmail him, but he will reveal that he knows it was Will who shot him (don’t ask me how he knows), and strongly suggests that Will has a much more urgent secret that E.J. knows about, and E.J. would have no problem revealing it. Of course, how he knows Will is struggling with being gay is another questionmark with these writers. I know E.J. spied on Will and his friends at the HTS, but nothing ever was openly stated by Will indicating he was gay. E.J. probably just picked up on it from Will’s looks at Sonny’s friend, or something silly like that. In any case, E.J. will turn the tables on Will and make Will do whatever E.J. asks of him, thus making E.J. the blackmailer and Will the one being blackmailed. No, this one is not a spumor — Will is heading for a really bad fall when everything starts to cave in on him, thus the plot to bring Lucas home to Salem.
than some of the other s/l’s they have goin’ on right now, like the martial arts studio, Abbey’s googley eyes over Austin, then *itching out Mel and Chad after they both decided to break it off, and I can’t even begin to imagine anthing more boring than the egg-baby s/l. Oh, well, to each his own. At least I know JS and CM are going to give me watchable performances.
Will would laugh at EJ and then turn around and out himself before EJ had a chance to use this information to hurt Will. I guess they’re not going that route…too bad.
What the heck is that? I have to say "yawn" about the studio and Abbey’s lovelorn looks also.
As to their performances, I only hope that we won’t continue to see Will’s over-the-top acting. So far, it has been very appropriate and well-done but I don’t want it to continue for much longer. He has now told Marlena so I think it’s time he starts dealing with it with much less ranting and raving.
And now I am confused; is EJ supposedly blackmailing Will about him actually being his first shooter or about Will being gay?
about knowing that he was the one that shot him but he did elude to the fact that he knows something else that Will would not want people to know at this time.
I’m thinking egg baby has to do with Maggie’s eggs being stolen and trying to find out who the baby is/was or the rumors that Stefano isn’t EJ’s father and the possibility that Susan wasn’t his mother so then the question would be who’s his bio parents and who’s egg did they use.

As for who’s blackmailing who and why, E.J. will be blackmailing Will after he makes it known to Will that he knows (again, I don’t know how) that Will is gay, and E.J. will threaten to expose Will for that. Again, I think all of this E.J./Will will plot the course for the return of Lucas, who, as I understand it, will be there not only for Will, but for Sami as well.
