They’ve been leading up to it with Caroline’s story for the last couple of weeks, and I thought what was shown throughout today’s epi was very emotionally effective. I thought it really looked like Bo was personally tormented by his emotions depicted in his scenes, as was Hope. It brought tears to my eyes, and not so much because of the fact that Bo was leaving with Caroline, but that Bo was simply leaving DAYS. It grabbed me the way I thought it would, especially the scenes between Peter and Kristian. Now, what would disappoint me is if no further mention or follow-up is made once Bo has a chance to review the CD Hope gave him about Stefano, knowing that Bo’s plan is to take down Stefano, maybe like further communications on-screen between Bo and John, even though Bo will not be seen. The CD from Hope can’t simply be ignored, or that storyline dropped, simply because Peter is gone.
they will be replacing Bo. I mean, how long would he be in California with Caroline? Even rehab is only a couple of weeks. They acted like Bo was going to be gone for months.
because as far as the SL is concerned Bo is not leaving for good; therefore the sendoff had to be limited. Days put themselves in no man’s land trying to negotiate a fine line between the character apparently only being gone temporarily to the actor leaving for good. Maybe the brass is holding out hope PR will return on their terms at some point ala John and Marlena.
But yes, Days cannot keep him simply off camera indefinitely and I have no idea if fans will accept another actor in the role. They did have some success with Kelker-Kelly.I didn’t like Robert Kelker-Kelly as Bo. The character of Bo, played by Peter Reckell, is what made me love DOOL in the first place. No substitutes!
last time but I don’t think I’d like a recast now. Peter has just played the part too long to replace him. That would be like replacing Hope or John or Marlena…just wouldn’t be the same.
I agree, Patti. I was choked up as well, as I felt the actor, not the character, was saying goodbye to his leading lady.
The producers said they would leave the door open and that is what has happened. I thought the send off was handled well. Peter got to interact with all the cast , Saving his last words with Hope. My guess is that Caroline will return alone at some time. Possibly with another Brady as escort.
the Bo storyline will move on to stopping Stephano and he will be in limbo like Patch was for so many years.
Yes, Hope will get involved with someone else. that is the way Soaps work.
has commented on his departure? If so does he have something in mind for work? Would he consider returning at some point?
I would think given time and if no one comes calling we may well see him as Bo again.had me thinking that Roman’s words "don’t worry, I’ll take care of Hope and Ciara" was just a forewarning that Hope and Roman may get entangled. Just a thought.
I think this time he is pretty positive this is over for him. We read how tired Lexie was of the show so it’s possible Peter had gotten to the same place. The last I read he didn’t have anyhthing specific in mind he was going to do, but I’m sure he had some thoughts and maybe even some offers but I doubt it will be in soaps.
