How pathetically superficial and desperate she is. It seems obvious she will unearth the big secret and I wouldn’t put it past her to pull a Sami switcheroo in DNA results. I can’t wait for Nathan to kick her to the curb, preferably outta Salem!
August 12, 2010 at 10:00 pm #15393NoraParticipantI know! UGH! Cant stand that girl! i was quoting Forrest Gump while watching her at the end of today’s show, " Are you crazy or just plain Stupid" She just looked like a deer caught in the headlights. yeah keep standing there. Shes gonna get a whoppin for hanging up on Caroline! LOL
August 13, 2010 at 1:45 am #15399daysbrokenwingsParticipanta lot of anger from me, I just plain can’t stand her. She is the one person when on I YELL at me TV. Ugh. What an insecure twit. I hope she comes crashing DOWN and while down Chloe steps on her!
August 13, 2010 at 2:28 am #1540353tdogsParticipantStephanie is in I FF through. I may have to watch her now while she blows up Chole and Phillip little "perfect" worlds, but I will watch with relish as Mel gravitates toward Nathan.
I haven’t cared for the Stephanie character since day one…she doesn’t mature or change or do "much of anything else" except for the same ol’ "I need a man" story – at least Sami (who hasn’t matured either in the last upteen years), is interesting in her story lines. (No disrespect to the actress who plays Stephanie, just can’t bring myself to like or care for the character of Stephanie as they write her).
August 13, 2010 at 11:45 am #15408BonbonParticipantI don’t understand why people dislike Stephanie so intensly. I don’t get the same opinions of her that so many of you do. Is she a saint? Absolutely not but I don’t see her to be that awful. Hmmmm, maybe it’s ME? Yikes!
August 13, 2010 at 12:37 pm #15410caseyParticipantShe doesn’t have that “love to hate” passion about her. All she ever wants is a guy – any guy it seems – to justify her existence. And how low she sinks to hang onto her man is so jr high. The difference w/Sami who has pulled similar stunts in her day is Sami has spark and vitality and a back story. Steph for me is one trick pony blah.
August 13, 2010 at 2:31 pm #15411PattiParticipantbut thanks to your post did. She’s boring, dull, bland, you name it. When they brought her back to Salem she was this very popular female racecar driver with spunk and vitality. She was flirtatious, and didn’t take any crap from anyone, and that’s how Stephanie should be written. After all, she is the daughter of Patch and Kayla — and then it was out with Shayna Rose and in with Shelly Henning — and Stephanie Johnson went from bad (with the airline Mile-High Club stories with that despicable Horton kid) to this pathetic whiny, needy loser who has now reverted to sneaking around town sticking her nose where it doesn’t belong to uncover information that has nothing to do with her — all to hold on to a man who would drop her like a hot potato if he could get back with the one he truly loves. Shelly may be a beautiful actress, but nothing they have tried with her has worked. She is just not interesting enough for me to care about her.
August 13, 2010 at 4:23 pm #1541253tdogsParticipantyour description of Stephanie, no dimension in the character, a "one-trick pony" was excellent! And Patti couldn’t have said it better either – Stephanie isn’t an interesting enough character to care about. Thank you ladies for articulating so much more eloquently what I have said about Stephanie "I just FF’d through her scenes because I can’t stand her". There are a few characters I don’t like, but I watch them, Stephanie’s character is unwatchable and predicatable.
August 13, 2010 at 5:58 pm #15413BonoSugaRayParticipantI don’t think it’s you, BonBon…It’s definitely STEPHANIE! I never liked this character ever since the writers decided to remove the red-head, and bring in the dumbfound-head! Ugh! I dislike even looking at her. There’s just something about this character that makes me wanna vomit all over the place.
August 14, 2010 at 9:41 am #15425SWParticipantif it comes out the the kid is his, her precious Nathan would fly back to Mel in a heartbeat! She’d be a loser again.
I do agree with all of your assessments of the character/actress. No matter what they have tried with her, it doesn’t work. I don’t see chemistry with any of her leading men either – I can’t root for her because there’s nothing there to make me want to! As she’s being written right not, she’s just pathetic and dull! She doesn’t even look like her parents, much less act like them! Days should just cut their losses with her and send her to Africa!
August 14, 2010 at 2:11 pm #15428JohnnyboyParticipantOh give little Stephanie a break. She is not that bad an actress. How else can she play it with the scenes written for her. She is an attactive young woman and for those who want to "vomit" when they see her, you really need Tums or Rolaids or something strong for that condition.
Sometimes you guys here are more fun than the show itself with your delicate tummy conditions and how some people or scenes make you want to throw up. I have never in my life watched a show or seen an actor that made me want to heave. If you cannot tolerate such scenes, gee Sesame Street is still on the air I think, or another tummy friendly sitcom.
August 14, 2010 at 3:08 pm #15430BonbonParticipantThere’s someone else out there that doesn’t think Stephanie is that bad. I agree, she has to be pretty good at her craft to be able to deliver thos horrible lines day after day. And I think there are probably more young women out there like Steph than we’d like to admit.
But, Johnnyboy, I think you are taking these remarks too literally. I don’t think these ladies actually get physically sick over her, it’s just an expression.
August 14, 2010 at 9:08 pm #15433PattiParticipant"But, Johnnyboy, I think you are taking these remarks too literally. I don’t think these ladies actually get physically sick over her, it’s just an expression."
So no, I don’t get physically sick when I see Stephanie, or even hear her speak, but would it be the same if I thought that whenever she is in a scene, whether it’s with a man or a woman, she sucks all of the oxygen out the room? Oh, well, all I can say in that case is:
Sunny Day
Sweepin’ the clouds away
On my way
to where the air is sweet….
Can you tell me how to get
How to get to Sesame Street
Sorry, just couldn’t resist!August 14, 2010 at 9:42 pm #1543453tdogsParticipantStephanie is not redeemable as a character…I had to suffer through "the closet" scene a few minutes ago when I was catching up with Friday’s show…normally, I wouldn’t give her the time of day, but had to see where the scene was going – I was hoping against hope that she’d get nailed in there by Phillip, Daniel, and Chole.
August 16, 2010 at 8:30 pm #15465Ms. JakeParticipantOk…I think I get it now….So most of you liked the first actress who played Stephanie! See…that might be part of the reason for the dislike of Shelly’s portrayal….I didn’t quite like the first Stephanie, but I loved the character especially the race car driver! Wow, something different! BUT, I didn’t like the chemistry between her and Max. She was pushy and pathetic…not very pretty or at all sexy. When they brought in Shelly….they changed direction and made her more feminine and flirty. I thought Max and Stephanie had great chemistry….but alot of viewers couldn’t get past the "family relationship…so with the change in character and that, she already had viewers ticked. I looked at her with more sympathy because she was so pretty,(ok so I’m shallow) and had been so rejected by her all time crush Max, that I could understand WHY she threw herself into this dangerous relationship with Jeremey. She wanted to prove she could party and be the kind of girl Max was known to be with. Then TPTB couldn’t let these two be happy when she finally got her man, they throw Melanie in there. And the way I see it she has gotten the raw end of the stick from there on in …with bad relationships and bad writting!
