I never thought I would, but now that they are together for the right reasons, I’m beginning to warm to EJAMI. I’ll have to wait until Stefano’s return to see how it affects E.J.
February 14, 2013 at 3:40 pm #37871justwonderingParticipantI find EJ boring right now. He is a mere shadow of himself. Although I took Marlena’s comment about him changing when Stefano returns to be a clue that his old self will reemerge. THat’s why I liked EJ with Nicole–she wanted the REAL EJ not some lap dog. Sami keeps saying EJ has changed, but that it not the real EJ.
February 14, 2013 at 4:43 pm #37873BonbonParticipantnot Lauren.
Besides, 60 isn’t really that old anymore. I still wore a bikini at 60. It wasn’t until I hit 65-70 that things started going south, especially after I lost so much weight. There was nothing there anymore to fill in the wrinkles. :o)
February 14, 2013 at 5:24 pm #37878PattiParticipantKate and Lauren are the same person.
February 14, 2013 at 6:48 pm #37879luckeyParticipantAfter all the sexual abuse that EJ has inflicted on Sami, I can’t imagine anyone liking that character. Every time I picture Sami in that car with EJ and the smug remarks he made to her regarding saving Lucas’ life and replacing Rafe with a fake and EJ laughing about her making love to someone she thought was her husband! So many of his hurtful actions against Sami were so blatantly sexual in nature. It’s very difficult for me to watch the two of them in any scenes together. I know that’s just me, but I always felt very insulted, as a woman, regarding the writers’ uncaring feelings toward women who may have experienced this in real life. JMHO.
February 14, 2013 at 7:37 pm #37880PattiParticipantI don’t think anyone hated E.J. on this board or any other more than I did, for years now. It’s just that since the writers and KC have decided that they are going with EJAMI, and they have both been irredeemable for so long, it’s like winding back the clock for me to see what life could be like for both of them if they were to put it behind them and move on, especially since Sami isn’t the only woman in Salem who was sexually abused, but managed to do exactly that. And Sami, herself, abused Austin in much the same way. Don’t get me wrong, I’m not condoning what E.J. did at all, and I certainly don’t expect their new-found love to last, but I can, for the first time in forever, enjoy watching them together now with that thought in mind. Sorry!
February 14, 2013 at 7:56 pm #37881BonbonParticipantis a hated, meddling, over-sexed, cradle-robbing, murderous, busybody?
February 14, 2013 at 9:28 pm #37882majencoParticipantSo it all starts accelerating in your mid 60’s? Just wanted to know what I had to look forward to. A bikini in your 60’s? You are a very cool lady!
February 14, 2013 at 10:38 pm #37883PattiParticipanteom!
February 15, 2013 at 1:32 am #37886luckeyParticipantI’m just not at that point with these two characters. It would be much easier for me to watch them if I was at that point; but, alas, not there yet…probably never will be.
February 15, 2013 at 9:42 am #37890BonbonParticipantFor my 60th birthday, my kids took me to Belize on a dive vacation and I bought a new bikini for that trip. It’s easier to wear under a wetsuit than a one-piece. But now, I’m not diving anymore and the old bod isn’t as tight as it used to be. :o) I have graduated to a much more "mature" one-piece now. Plus, like I said, I lost a lot of weight after several stomach surgeries so I’ve got an excess of skin with no place for it to go.
I think when you stay active as you get older (and you’re blessed with good genes…which I was), you can still stay in shape. (When my mom was 74 people thought she was in her 50s.) I’m sure Lauren doesn’t just sit around all day and still look the way she does. If you look at her arms, I’m pretty certain she works out regularly. I’d say Dee does also. But I didn’t. Because of back problems, I stopped doing what I did and now you can tell.
But thanks for your nice words anyway.
February 15, 2013 at 1:40 pm #37893dvalParticipantI think Marlena portended that when she asked if EJ would stay changed once his "fatha" comes back.
But sadly, I have to agree with Patti. I am starting to like EJ and Sami together the way they are now. Both very calm, both very understanding. Sami going to Marlena without getting all riled up was pretty nice. Although I would like to see some spark of the old EJ in him cuz he is just a little bit too much like a puppy dog around Sami right now. And being that happy together never lasts on a soap so you know things are gonna change.
February 15, 2013 at 1:42 pm #37894caseyParticipantgive you away as you age if you don’t tone up.
February 16, 2013 at 4:23 am #37907majencoParticipantI agree that genes help but you must stay active as much as you can. My dad is 74 and still plays on the softball team. He looks great. It’s inspiring to hear that it doesn’t all have to go to hell. More important than looking good it helps you feel good!
