In today’s show she mentioned her having beaten stage 4 cancer. I don’t remember seeing that before though I did stop watching for a while.
December 27, 2010 at 8:07 pm #19389DeeLanParticipantBefore Lucas and Chloe got married Kate had lung cancer. That’s when Chelsea was with Dan and found out he’d slept with Kate. That broke them up then Kate was given a miracle treatment and was fine after that with no side effects of the treatment or anything.

December 27, 2010 at 11:23 pm #19401PattiParticipantstoryline to ever underplay a serious disease like lung cancer, which, at 4-stage, is rarely cured let alone lasting, what, a month or so at best, and then magically cured. It was practically insulting to people who suffered from it, or had loved one suffer and die from it.
December 27, 2010 at 11:38 pm #1940453tdogsParticipantbe and play god (small g out of respect to the real one) – in their writings. It would have been better for them to take a serious disease like that and portray a beloved character who was being written off the show permanently having an insidious plague of a disease like that instead of treating it so lightly and cavalier.
December 27, 2010 at 11:48 pm #1940753tdogsParticipantill to watch him kiss her. His head looked so large against hers. And then she was all of 18 or 19 and he was suppose to be a 30+ something (in reality 45!) – Bo should have kicked his doctor behind to the emergency room! I think Dr. Dan at that time had little girl tendencies…ick!
December 28, 2010 at 10:12 pm #19438luckeyParticipantfor a possible cure for Kate and it worked…I say this with tongue in cheek! At the time, I also remember many of us questioning Chloe’s ability to offer bone marrow because she also had cancer at one time. That was the "miracle treatment" that Kate had.
December 28, 2010 at 10:55 pm #19442jesigirl22ParticipantThat was one of those story lines that came and went. I think I may have bypassed that one as it came along at the time my mother, a life long non-smoker, was fighting stage 4 lung cancer. That was not fun, and although she survived 7 years, it is kind of insulting to show some of these characters bearly touched but these devastating diseases with the slimest survival rates and coming through like they just had a cough and cold.
I know that we watch these shows for our escape and we don’t always want realism, but when they are soooo far removed from reality, it can be hard to watch.
December 30, 2010 at 3:04 am #19474ta143ParticipantI didn’t know Dan and Chelsea had been an item. Ewww! He really likes them young. At least Chloe is a little older.
December 30, 2010 at 3:51 am #19479December 30, 2010 at 12:32 pm #19494BonbonParticipantI mean, look at Hugh Hefner, marrying a girl SIXTY years his junior. That has to be some kind of record.
Besides, Daniel and Chelsea never "got it on" if that makes any difference.
