Just asked on the main board what I missed and how EJ got blood from Sydney? Now does anyone have any spoilers regarding when this horrible storyline is going to end and what kind of punishment EJ is going to get? Kate didn’t go to jail for trying to kill Chloe, Vivian is going to jail for trying to kill Melanie, so will EJ really be punished for kidnapping Sydney and faking her death? I hate this story more than anything they’ve ever done on this show. Totally stupid!
February 19, 2010 at 3:13 pm #10645majencoParticipantI just have to ask, while I agree this storyline is horrible, how long have you been watching Days, because if it’s long enough there have definitely been worse. I mean the Garden of Eden storyline and the Gemini Twins come to mind right away but there are so many others.
February 19, 2010 at 4:21 pm #10647mommytutuParticipantSince I was 4–that would be in the 60’s when the show was fairly new. Yeah those stories were horrible, I think JER was a crappy writer–I never liked anything he did. BUT! I don’t like the idea of using children to exact revenge. Sami hid her baby trying to protect the child from the Dimera family–not out of revenge. This is EJ at his worst and I just can’t stand all the manipulation. I just read spoilers saying he’s going to now write a new ransom note saying Sydney’s alive because he realizes he drove Rafe and Sami together instead of apart and he wants to be the hero for her. Just get the damn story overwith! The child’s going to be in college before they settle this.
February 19, 2010 at 5:37 pm #10654BonbonParticipantHowever, I think it’s gone on long enough and should be ready to be brought to an end. Gosh, Sydney should be walking now yet we never see it.
I’m thinking that Anna is going to take the rap for the kidnapping which will let EJ off the hook. However, I haven’t a clue what part Nicole is going to play when she returns. She’ll probably finger Anna but what’ll happen between her and EJ? And if she doesn’t go back to him, what then?
February 19, 2010 at 9:52 pm #10659PunkyParticipantThis storyline has lost my interest weeks ago. No wait it’s months now! The highlight of today was Arianna blaming Nicole for Sydney’s death. I don’t think she gets to register an opinion and having her yammer on and on about Nicole only makes me annoyed at this character. Anyway this storyline bleeds into so many characters and I am tired of hearing about it. I am sick of seeing Sami cry and yell and blame Rafe. I am tired of Rafe’s guilt and him telling Sami he’ll figure things out. I am tired of EJ and his ridiculous inhumane rage. I know he was wronged but how are we supposed to feel any sympathy for him? Then there’s Anna who knows it’s wrong yet who’s still cooperating with EJ…it’s driving me nuts. Although it is not as annoying as the destruction of Bo and Hope.
Quick question..was EJ’s mention of "Carrie having ring side seats" at Anna’s trial foreshadowing?
February 19, 2010 at 10:36 pm #10660majencoParticipantThis storyline is getting over ripe and fast.
February 20, 2010 at 1:54 pm #10652PattiParticipantDR is reporting that it should come to a head in about 2 more weeks (just about the time Nicole will be back on screen), and that’s exactly what E.J. is planning to do. He decides that if he can’t get Sami back with his sick plan, that he will be her hero instead. I wonder if he’ll bring Sydney back to Sami, and at the same time throw Anna under the bus. I just hope it backfires and Rafe has it all figured out by then and can finally blow E.J. out of the water. I also read something to the effect that Stefano becomes very aware that Rafe is onto something about E.J., so I’m guessing he’s going to get involved as well. E.J. hasn’t been very son-like to Stefano and he can’t stand it, so now we have to ask….is he going to help E.J., or is he going to go on his own? Also, what role will Nicole play in all of this? Just hope it’s the end of it and we can all move on to something else.
February 20, 2010 at 2:13 pm #10677justwonderingParticipantEj is a psychopath true and true. He is charming and highly intelligent, which leads him to be arrogant. He feels no remorse for anything that he does and he is all about manipulating people so that he can get his way. Anna was taken by his charm and now she is in too deep. He wants to punish Sami for having him mourn a child that was not even his (wow, talk about compassion), and make sure she is alone and miserable. He hates Nicole yet she is the one who made sure Sydney was with him. He professes great love for Sydney, yet when he thought she was not his biological child, he threw her out of his house with little regard for her welfare. I think that his SL will be resolved when Nicole returns and perhaps she becomes the hero!!! I have never been a EJ fan, cause I thought he was too smooth and a phoney. Now—I think he is just evil–far worse than Stefano.
February 23, 2010 at 1:05 pm #10755luckeyParticipantcompassion for Nicole. That’s all it says, so that may play into her outcome. I don’t believe that EJ wants Sami back at all. I just believe he wants her to suffer and suffer alone without anyone to love just like he is right now. I would really be satisifed if Stefano goes against EJ instead of helping him when he realizes that Rafe is onto Sydney’s whereabouts. I also think that Anna is going to take the fall for this whole thing. I’m hoping that Rafe turns out to be the hero and that he keeps Sami at a distance and doesn’t go falling back into her arms when she starts blubbering about how wrong she was to treat him so callously and that she loves him sooooooo much. (I’m doing a Joan Rivers here with my finger in my mouth).
February 23, 2010 at 2:33 pm #10762PattiParticipantand I read that Stuart Damon is coming to Salem in the role of Governor (Stuart, for those who don’t watch it, was Dr. Alan Quartermain on General Hospital). I think he will pardon Nicole for some reason (maybe she will remember who took Sydney, or maybe she will become too ill to remain in jail once she thinks Sydney is dead). Either way, the climax to the story will only be effective is Sydney is returned, which is why I think E.J. is planning to do that on his own, and I’m hoping that’s where he slips up and he gets caught in his own trap.
February 23, 2010 at 3:36 pm #10763luckeyParticipantget involved in Nicole’s case. And picking Stuart Damon is a fantastic choice! I’m afraid you might be right about EJ bringing Sydney home as the conquering hero. If that happens, I do believe it will be because EJ becomes aware of how close Rafe is getting to the truth and he’ll waltz in with Sydney saying his own men did a better job than the FBI and SPD in finding her. Now, will it be Stefano who will alert EJ to Rafe’s nearness or will he find out on his own? I’m with you hoping that EJ slips up and gets caught. I would be thrilled if someone finally had to pay for their dirty deeds! Listen to how often we keep hearing people saying out loud what Kate did to Chloe (poison) or what Vivian did to Carly (buried alive), but none of them were put in jail for it! Ah, one can only hope!
February 23, 2010 at 4:00 pm #10764Ms. JakeParticipantI’m sure once Nicole’s back in the picture we’ll all be watching with anticipation…enjoying this story again!
February 23, 2010 at 4:14 pm #10765imported_JennMParticipantI hadn’t watched in 3 weeks or so. Had yesterday’s episode on in the background as I was at home. I don’t think I’ve missed much of anything.
I hate when stories move that slowly – but that’s SOP for the soap biz.

February 24, 2010 at 7:49 pm #10802GoldenDaysFanParticipantI thought the stories were good back then. O.K., they weren’t perfect, but they were often about real problems (rebellious children, lost love, betrayal, etc.). When JER wrote for Days it was ridiculous. The stories were focused on the occult and threads of stories were simply dropped left and right. The kidnapping story has been dragging out a bit too long, I agree, but it is more interesting than anything JER ever wrote.
