if the writers feel something is justified, that makes it legal, or, at least, not unethical.
It would be okay for someone to kill Stefano because he’s a very bad guy but they couldn’t kill someone else. Same with Dan, he couldn’t have done that for anyone else or it would have been a bad thing.
