Was the woman playing Nick’s mother really the original Jessica? I didn’t recognize her but then, she was on pre-VCR when I was employed full time and I missed a lot of shows.
Anyway, it was kind of strange how she was portrayed and not seeming to know much about Nick’s life in prison. It was more like Hope was his mother and she was a distant aunt or something. As his mother, wouldn’t she have been there encouraging him to apply for the parole? This just didn’t make sense.
Anyway, was that the original Jessica or a replacement actor?

So, when I saw her name here (thanks, Patti), I googled her and…sure enough! she’s the actress that I thought of when she appeared on Days yesterday! I always thought she was a good actress…really cute and made any role she was playing seem real.
September 2, 2012 at 12:25 pm #35353SWParticipantsince I knew she’d be on, I was surprised when she appeared. She didn’t look much like she did when she was originally on. The years seem to show that she didn’t work as an actress during that time. As to her not knowing much about her son, I think he was supposed to have been embarrassed by what he did that led to jail and therefore stopped communicating so as to spare her. Since as Jessica, we never knew that she had had a child as it was all ‘invented’ when Nick first appeared so I’ll give her and him a break on that one! Atleast she looks like someone who might have had a child Nick’s age now. I just don’t get what he’s needed for?
