Any ideas here? Afterall, Sami in particular was key for all these years. Do you think someone(s) in the current cast will shoot to the forefront? Or will we see some new characters? Or no change at all, just the current cast getting more airtime.
I was thinking about that myself. I don’t find anyone that interesting at this point. Kristian coming back could help. How about grown up Shawn and Belle, Chad, Phillip and Melanie to kick Teresa’s rear.
I can think of that could really be central are Nicole and Will. The only problem with that is that I love AZ, but I’m not super interested in Nicole’s storyline since the last time she was with EJ. And I love the character of Will, but with the change of actor, I’m not super invested in him yet, either. Unfortunately with Sami and EJ leaving, it reminds me of Santa Barbara when Eden left and Another World right at the end. Days still has some great characters and some great actors, but they’re just not writing for them right now. When I started watching, I watched for Jennifer and Frankie, then it was Hope and Bo, Kayla and Patch. Granted it was years and years ago, but I don’t remember all bad guys all the time. It was mainly good people with bad experiences with bad people. But we knew who to root for and knew in the end the good guys would end up together, or at least we hoped they would.
Bring back some young adults (not teens.) Shawn/Belle – Chad/Melanie – but give them quality storylines. These are people that are tied to core familes – I don’t want to see new characters (i.e Jordan) that we are not invested in as main characters.
Pair Hope with Aiden for good – let them be the new focus of the show. But we have to put Bo to rest. Hire a "Peter Reckell look alike" and have him getting off a plane walking to Hope but we see him from behind. The plane blows up, Bo dies and Hope grieves. Aiden helps her and they pair up. That might be a good idea. We can’t have Hope move on w/o having her close the door on Bo (and she’d never do that w/o him dying in my opinion.)
I won’t stop watching this show – i’m going down with the ship. I just don’t see how it will surive w/o Sami and EJ. And that’s not b/c I love them (which you all know I do) but they have been the focus for so long. With viewer erosion this certainly won’t help
I would hate to see that, if in fact, it turned out that Billie was nothing more than an instigator or an interloper in Bo and Hope’s life. No, I say Peter had long enough to make up his mind….now, I don’t want him back. I’d take Aiden over Bo any day now.
but it did. Hopefully they will now spend quality time on someone who will come front and center now that they don ‘t have to write for EJ and Sami.
And make room on that ship becaise I’ll be going down with you. I can’t imagine not watching it anymore.
