that he could recite the Hail Mary. There are things you don’t forget when you have amnesia, like how to read, speak, etc. Knowing a prayer that Catholics know as well as they know their own name would of course not be lost. The only thing that would prove is that he’s Catholic.
Now, I’m wondering, is that the same convent that he and Sami were in during the safe house period (which is why the name was familiar to him?). If so, all they need is to have the nun that knew them see him. But I suppose that would be too simple. BTW, that’s an awfully pretty nun. It’s also a very nice bed and bedding for a convent. They have obviously not taken a vow of poverty. I have those same sheets and they didn’t come from WalMart.

I know the nuns take a vow of poverty, but they also accept any donations that are made to them. Many times they will forward the donations to a family who is in need; but, there are times when the donation is kept for the members of the convent. It all depends on the needs at the time it is given.

Maybe it was a room just reserved for guests to the convent but I certainly couldn’t have been a nun’s room. I know they don’t live in abject poverty but that was just a little too plush IMO.
May 5, 2011 at 1:00 pm #23350dvalParticipantthen it is probably the room they use for visitors. Didn’t Sami go to the convent to be alone and think at one point?
May 5, 2011 at 1:05 pm #23352PattiParticipantI vividly remember my grandmother, who was severely afflicted with the disease, not being able to recognize anyone or any event in the present, but if you asked her to sing a song from the 20’s or 30’s, she could sing it from beginning to end and never miss a word.
May 5, 2011 at 2:05 pm #23362BonbonParticipantwhen he had his stroke. He couldn’t speak a word but he could sing songs. The doc said that’s because that used a different part of the brain other than what was affected by the stroke. We tried to get him to sing responses to our questions but he couldn’t do that. I guess he was only able to recall the songs, not put his thoughts in song.
May 5, 2011 at 2:35 pm #23370NoraParticipantI think she did go there. cant remember why but i think she was there with Sydney??
May 6, 2011 at 4:59 am #23399DeeLanParticipantIf it’s the same one they went to when she was in the safe house then Rafe has a connection to the convent and the nuns, at least the Mother Superior or one of the older nuns knew him.
