I am so disillusioned with Days right now. These speed-dating relationships, character assasination and ruin, recycled SLs and above all, blatant stupidity are making me seriously wonder if this show can be saved.

Another huge part of the problem is that they write too far in advance. There is no need for any script on a soap opera to be three months ahead of the actual air date. Most of the time, even if Corday and/or company finds that a storyline is completely failing, it’s been scripted too far in advance to change it. I’m sure there’s a reason for it; but, for the life of me, I will never appreciate it "Tweaking" certain already scripted parts of a storyline only means that someone decided they didn’t like what was about to happen, so they changed horses in mid-stream, making those who like spoilers (present company included) go bat-sh*t crazy, because what they read and thought WILL happen WON’T.

Drop the Gabi Stalker line, and the multiple partners. It is funny that they wrote an exit for Renee rather quickly. Don’t need another safe house!! Would love for the new stories to start as aoon as Days comes back on after the Olympics–they have a whole month to get it going!!!
May 6, 2012 at 9:21 am #32817BonbonParticipantwe’ve been having these same complaints for years and years. I can’t remember a time since I got on the internet (in 1995) when we weren’t complaining about the writing. And, you’ve got to admit, this isn’t the worse it’s ever been, by far.
AFAIC, I thought it’d go down the tubes completely when JER was writing but it survived. There is some good stuff mixed in with the dregs even now. I think Will’s "coming out" and Lexie’s storyline is going well and both have been well written and every once in a while, we get a ray of sunshine out of them. Keep the faith because I think this is a horse that won’t die.
