ParticipantI’m ready to get back into the routine, although not entirely because I’m anxious for Days, but the Olympics are starting to lose their appeal. I’ve had my fill of volleyball and water polo!
But mainly, I’m interested to see what the new writing regime will bring.August 9, 2012 at 2:42 pm #34856luckey
Participantnight to refresh my memory of what happened last. As I always do when there are new writers…I’ll be cautiously optimistic.

ParticipantI still have the last episode and I’m so ready for the Olympics to be done. Can’t wait to see what happens on Monday. Maybe this is what soaps need, a good cliff hanger and a long break every now and then. I think it’s made most of us more excited to see what happens when the show returns.

ParticipantI not only miss Days but the other shows I watch. I like some of the olympics but I don’t know what is on when so I just have been channel surfing and being bored with TV.
I want to see who is left on the show. going to hate seeing Bo leave tho.

ParticipantI wish I had done that.
I sometimes have trouble remembering what happened last when a show has been gone for the summer. I’m going to start recording and keeping all season finales. Thanks for the idea.

ParticipantI’m looking forward to days returning too. I miss it. I just hope we aren’t disappointed this time like we were last time when they promised new SLs and our favs returning. What a huge letdown many of them were. I just hope the new writers deliver on their promises alot longer than the last bunch did! but I am getting anxious for my days at 1pm to return!

Participanthis departure will have on viewership. And what on earth will they do with Hope romantically? But I’m not so sure Peter R won’t return at some point, if Days lasts that long.

Participantwithout Bo. I didn’t realize he was leaving because of a salary dispute until I read it last week. Boy, it must have been really instulting for him to leave after all these years. I guess TPTB must think nobody is irreplacable.

ParticipantThe only part of summer olympics I care about is Artistic Gymnastics…so it’s been "over" for me for a while

Participantthey would choose to keep more peripheral or at least “lesser” players than lose a staple popular one if money were the issue. In other words, let go of a few people to finance your bread ‘n butter. But they did this with Deidre and Drake too.

ParticipantI recorded each show from the last season and kept them for a couple of years. I went back and watched them all several months ago and was so glad I did. So many of the main characters who had left (George Clooney included) came back for the story line about the closing of the hospital. For me, that was a show that never, ever got old…still miss it!

Participantsomewhere on this Board it was said that TPTB wanted to cut his salary 45%! I don’t know how accurate that is, but that’s a pretty big chunk of change to ask a star of a show to give up.

ParticipantI am away on vacation so can’t rematch it, but just because I liked it. And yes, I’m hoping this isn’t another reboot like last September.

Participantinstead of letting several people go, they can just do one with a large salary. I’m not saying it makes sense to me but…
I would think if they had financial difficulties, they know what these veteran actors make so they should keep that in mind before hiring new actors, Cameron, Andrew, Spencer, to name a few. They could have gotten along without them.
And, really, what is the purpose of having Kayla, Sonny, Adrienne and Justin on? As much as I like seeing them all, you could add Julie and hubby too.
I also think they could cut their non-speaking extras down considerably. Yes, it’s nice to see people in the pub or the square but if you have to lose a star to pay them? Kind of a no-brainer to me.
