DO YA’ WANNA’ WATCH SOME FOOTBALL?
Sorry, couldn’t hold back. Most who know me know I’m a football fanatic and a Raven Maniac to boot, with the Ravens kicking off 2012 "Monday Night Football" once again. I am so psyched for today though. By the way, congrats to the Cowboys for their win on Wednesday night.
Also, big whoop to the Orioles; tied for first place with the Yankees. What a season. CC, my prayers are with you that you didn’t take Nick out on purpose. Shame on you if you did, and then trying to say it was a foul ball when you just ended a man’s season in a playoff race.
Finally, rest in peace, Art Modell, and my deepest condolences to your family. You may not have been too popular in Cleveland, but you are, and always will be, a hero in Baltimore.
September 10, 2012 at 12:28 pm #35442caseyParticipantfor the moment. I sure hope Baltimore knocks them out – so sick of them winning all the time.
My home team the Bills were trounced yesterday – same ‘ol.
Looks like rookie Heisman Trophy QB Robert Griffon is making a big splash.
Congrats aso to the Dallas boys – but they tend to get out of the gate fast then fade at the end.September 10, 2012 at 1:43 pm #35443luckeyParticipantI was truly impressed and happy for Peyton Manning. Hubby and I loved watching him when he was a Tennessee Vol and he’s still got what it takes. I was also happy to watch the Lions win (Hubby’s favorite team) in spite of Stafford’s costly interceptions. I hope he shakes it off and that the Lions have a great season. So…to all of us football fans…Yes! We are ready for some football!!
September 10, 2012 at 1:48 pm #35444PattiParticipantbut these last 22 games are going to be the most exciting we’ve witnessed here in Charm City for our O’s in more than 14 years. Talk about a psyched town …. just hoping our Ravens do well tonight. We always have trouble with the Bengals, but more times than not seem to pull off the win. Anyway, so much fun, and we’re flying high with our "birds" of Baltimore on the football field as well as the baseball field. Have to say, though, it was nice to see Peyton Manning playing in the Orange and Navy Blue last night, with Denver pulling off the win against the Steelers (OUR never-ending nemesis). Hope the Bills can pick it up for you guys this season.
September 10, 2012 at 7:34 pm #35445maxineParticipantYes I am ready for some football.. Last year we had Tebow and this year Manning I love them both but the Denver Broncos is my heart and I hope we do better than we did last year,, I am still a great fan of Tim Tebow, I think we all fell in love with him last year so I am keeping an eye on him as well ..smile… Have a great day .
September 10, 2012 at 10:14 pm #35449caseyParticipantthe Jets had him doing everything yesterday – on defense, offense, special teams – geesh the guy did everything but take tickets! I just love his attitude and predict there will be a QB controversy in the Big Apple should Mark Sanchez falter.
September 11, 2012 at 4:44 pm #35453PattiParticipantto complain that Joe Flacco is not an "elite" quarterback this year. Ravens kicked butt tonight (44-13 – sorry Cincinnati fans), and a majority of it was due to the brilliant performance of Joe Flacco. I do have to admit, I have mixed emotions because of Marvin Lewis, our former defensive coordinator and now head coach of the Bengals. He was superb when he was with the Ravens, but it just goes to show that without a great quarterback, well, all I can say is …. Joe is so cool, calm and collected, Andy Dalton …. not so much (tonight anyway). Still love you, Marv, and you’re a great coach, but in your defense, not too many could keep up with the Ravens tonight; way to kick off the season …. LOVE OUR BIRDS, whether they be in purple and black or orange and black!
GO RAVENS
GO ORIOLES
WOOP WOOP!
September 11, 2012 at 9:43 pm #35461caseyParticipantreally have a kick butt, take no prisoners attitude. The other teams should take notice of the “Purple Passion” on every play, especially by that outstanding defense.
You are so fortunate to be backing this team. And yes I do think Flacco is improving and I believe the coaching staff is trusting him more. But it’s a long season.September 11, 2012 at 11:42 pm #35462PattiParticipantit’s "Any Given Sunday," but what a way to start it off.
September 17, 2012 at 1:39 pm #35515PattiParticipantwhen we lost to the Philadelphia Phillies by one point (24-23). Like I said, "any given Sunday," although, if I can make one request, I would asked my beloved birds of purple and black if next week, at the start of the second half, they can make sure that THE FREAKIN’ OFFENSE SHOWS UP. Seriously, Joe! What happened to the "no huddle" offense this week?
In any case……Congrats on the Bills yesterday, casey! And, Lucky, looks like Big Ben didn’t disappoint the Steelers fans yesterday (just the Ravens ones – LOL!)
GO RAVENS!
September 17, 2012 at 11:07 pm #35523caseyParticipantlooking great. Don’t worry Patti, your Ravens are gonna do okay.
The team that impresses me so far is the San Fran 49ers.September 18, 2012 at 12:52 am #35524PattiParticipantmeant the Eagles, not the Phillies!
September 18, 2012 at 1:00 am #35525luckeyParticipant"any given Sunday". The Steelers that played yesterday looked nothing like the Steelers that played last week. You and I will continue to be friendly rivals in the same division, sticking by our favorite team win or lose!
September 18, 2012 at 2:31 pm #35528PattiParticipantEOM!
September 28, 2012 at 12:40 pm #35660PattiParticipantstarting tonight with the Ravens at Cleveland. I am ecstatic about this news. Now maybe the players, most of all, can get back to real football and referees who know what they’re doing. Great job, and kudos to all of the NFL owners for getting this settled.
(P.S. …. RAVENS WIN – 23-16 …. WOOP WOOP!!!!!)
