for most of East Coast corridor, with Maryland expecting 2 feet or more of heavy, wet snow beginning around rush hour on Friday and staying around until clearing out Sunday. Ugh! Good luck everyone who’s going to be in its path!
January 21, 2016 at 7:18 pm #50555lynnekarenParticipantin Philadelphia, with more locally. I’m ready but not panicked, because they have been know to be off by a lot before. Stay safe everyone, let the kids shovel!
January 21, 2016 at 10:10 pm #50558TFlo1018ParticipantI guess I can’t complain – I had on a t-shirt on Christmas day. Was BOUND to happen right?
January 21, 2016 at 10:15 pm #50559Donna1051ParticipantWe got so much snow last winter… enough to last a lifetime. This time around we are missing the snow. It’s still very cold and very, very windy!
January 21, 2016 at 10:24 pm #50561dvalParticipantCannot complain at all. I had my AC on Christmas Eve, about an hour outside of NYC in Jersey. Craziness all around
January 21, 2016 at 10:50 pm #50562lynnekarenParticipantit was very bizarre!
January 22, 2016 at 1:23 am #50567majencoParticipant20 minutes outside NYC in Jersey possibility of 6-12 inches. Jeep and snowblower gassed up. We shall see. We have been very lucky so far. Knew the streak had to end.
January 22, 2016 at 2:31 pm #50569caseyParticipantI’m well used to these kind of events. But my brother lives outside of DC and it will be like the apocalypse! Just hope everyone gets through it safely.
January 22, 2016 at 2:59 pm #50574PattiParticipantI’m in Baltimore, so D.C. is my next-door neighbor. They are still predicting 1 1/2 – 2 feet for my area, but not willing to make that a final prediction. Besides predicting a white-out, we will be dealing with severe winds. Hoping just to be lucky enough to not lose power, but I’m ready for it if we do.
Everyones’ comments on the mild fall and winter temps are true, though. Guess it’s pay-back time!!!
January 22, 2016 at 3:02 pm #50575BonbonParticipantthe last time I was in Tahoe they had about 12″ and it was really fun watching it come down and going out to shovel. It was so beautiful and quiet. You could hear a dog barking several blocks away. But as long as it stays there, it is just fine with me. We are getting a lot of rain here but at least you don’t have to shovel it. :o)
January 22, 2016 at 3:08 pm #50576PattiParticipantmy son drives the big tractor trailers for UPS and his route for today is Maryland to Philly. I’m praying for his safe return (just driving next to those big trucks makes me nervous), but he just told me he would stay overnight if things are too bad out there.
January 23, 2016 at 3:28 pm #50587lynnekarenParticipantAnd I’m hoping that there’s no deliveries today, nothing could be that important.
January 23, 2016 at 3:57 pm #50589PattiParticipantbut good news….UPS called off his Philly run due to the impending blizzard, thank God, so yes, he’s safe and sound at home. This is one horrendous blizzard. Hope everyone is safe from this storm.
January 23, 2016 at 4:02 pm #50590PattiParticipantand our local news just put a yardstick in the ground showing 17", and it’s still coming down. We’re really being hammered here and still in full ‘blizzard’ mode. Thank God I haven’t lost power…..yet!!! Good luck everyone having to deal with this FIRST storm of 2016…. I did have to laugh at it’s name ….. "Winter Storm ‘Jonas’." (Daniel’s revenge????) LOL!
January 24, 2016 at 7:06 am #50598PattiParticipantwhen it finally stopped snowing, Baltimore’s Blizzard of 2016 reached a record high 29.2". Right now I am literally snowed in, but clean-up starts tomorrow. I can just bearly see my car, but my sons are coming to my aid early tomorrow morning to dig me out! Worst I’ve ever seen in my lifetime, that’s for sure!!!
