Today’s group therapy was beautifully written and Matt was very powerful.

The closing was just so unexpected and so heartfelt. It really brought tears to my eyes. Any, yes, Thanks always to those who gave so much. Does anyone know if those were actors or folks from the military.

They don’t usually use people without their SAG card.  I can see occasionally using one for a PSA or something but other than that…probably not.

a veteran and partially blind, is still suffering from PTSD.  I thought the entire segment was wonderfully portrayed.

For all the negatives about this show, today’s show with the veterans was one of the most moving episodes ever. I think they were all vets. You got that sense.

Matthew’s performance was extraordinary and I wish Days would let him be this serious character all the time now. He has great timing and puts his heart and soul into the role.

This is what Days has been about over the years, moving movements that brings tears to the eyes. We remember these much longer than the silly plot lines that fade faster than winter snow.

Great job by Matt and the other folks in the group whether they were actors or actually veterans.  God bless everyone who has served or is serving.  I too had tears in my eyes.

when I commented about the actors.  I can see where the woman was probably actually a vet but I still think the others were actors.  Not that it makes any difference.  The woman did an excellent job for not being a professional.

It was very nicely done and I loved how they gave the tribute to the service people at the end.

Speaking of the end, how come no more previews?  I really liked those.

in Who’s Coming: "Leslie Nicole Smith (War Veteran): Smith is amoung the real-life vets who appear on January 26, when Jack attends Marlena’s therapy group session for vets who have struggled with post-traumatic  stress."   That to me means they were all vets.  She probably has the card to do acting but the others may not.  I seem to remember when AMC hired JR Martinez, he didn’t have a card and was asked because it was supposed to be a 1-2 day job but the show loved him and he got the card when he was put on contract.  I’m sure there are ways around things when they are doing something special like this.

I wouldn’t want Jack to lose all his quirkiness, but episodes like today make me fervently hope and wish Days leans more toward this side of him.

you can get your SAG card if you get a job so as soon as they offer someone a place on the show, they can get it.  The problem usually is that you can’t get the job without the card.  It’s kind of a vicious circle…you need the card to get the job and you need the job to get the card.

Maybe that explains why the one guy didn’t have any lines.  He probably wasn’t very good at it.  If the young guy was a vet and not an actor, he certainly did a good job with his part.

Before I watched that episode I had recorded, I was so sure I’d be fast forwarding through all of Jack’s scenes as I didn’t want to seem him act like a buffoon.  I really thought he’d ruin it with his incessant babble and silliness.  BUT, was I surprised!  He was very good and the real-life vets were fantastic.  I had a feeling at least the woman was an actual vet and after reading posts here, I now know she really is.  Very moving, especially the tribute at the end.

show.  Sorry I missed it and hope that the writers produce more for the show that is good, instead of everyone one running around playing musical beds all the time.
