53tdogsParticipant
this last year, I am shocked that Elizabeth was on Survivor! (Don’t watch the View at all but I’ve seen her on another show and read bits of her book). Haven’t watched Top Shots but seems like it would be a good show considering I’m into all that…
53tdogsParticipantHistory Channel…something about a take off on "Around the World in 80 Days"…on to his next million…
53tdogsParticipantcorrect Majenco, Katie was always on the cutting edge of fashion and well put together for "a little ol’ lady" (of her age) and I have admired her, (and some times cringed at her style)…but a tail??? Grow up Kate!
53tdogsParticipantBBC isn’t censored – and you are correct Patti, it’s all done for ratings. Too much of the same thing "F" this and "F" that can make him yesterdays news real fast…His children will see his shows sometime in the future, so even if they are too young to know what their father’s potty mouth is…Some day it will be a revelation to them. Not much of an example for father of the year…
53tdogsParticipantEOM
53tdogsParticipantGrace once, but you’d think just a bit more as a loving mom.
53tdogsParticipantsomething called "The F Word" something on BBC America – http://www.bbcamerica.com/content/159/index.jsp It’s a cooking show…I can only imagine. And not a prude here as you know, I’m a big fan of "SOA" and the characters, (as gang club bikers) that use the "f" bomb some what frequently, but they don’t even begin to compare to this Gorden guy " a cook".
53tdogsParticipantyou never hear them mention him too much or their grandchild, even written off the show you’d think they’d mention, heck, I haven’t heard Hope even mention Zack either in a long while…For that matter has Hope even mentioned her beloved Gram in a while??? I don’t think so. Kids seem to be out of sight out of mind in the characters lives on Days. Sami ever mention Grace in one time in the past year? Once perhaps, even though she wasn’t her real child, she loved Grace…you’d think that she’d mention her more once in a great while. Jennifer barely mentions her son, (and she didn’t really speak about her daughter either before Abby came back on the show).
53tdogsParticipantwith Patch…they’d promise a good SL and then just fizzled…This BETTER NOT happen with my beloved John Black – do you hear me writers?????????????????????????
53tdogsParticipantLOL!
53tdogsParticipantShe wrote a series (now) starting 20 years ago. The books are in a word "amazing" and have it all,"history, warfare, medicine, sex, violence, spirituality, honor, betrayal, vengeance, hope and despair, relationships,
the building and destruction of families and societies, time travel, moral ambiguity, voyages of daring, journeys of both body and soul…" and love.
53tdogsParticipantfind anything that you like to watch this fall yet…I’m going to recommend a terrific book. It is out now in the theaters as well. I didn’t read the book as most of the books I purchase (or rent from library) are from Audible.com (no commercial here – you can get at library too). But I highly recommend reading it, or in this case listening to it on MP3 or CD form – The book is on the NYT Best seller list and just about every other best seller list and reader review. I could not put it down and had to "reread" it immediately again for the sheer fact that it was such a great book and neither could any of my friends. I recommend Audible because they have actors who act the parts and you get more out of the voices of the women.
"The Help" by Kathryn Stockett – from Publishers Weekly "set during the nascent civil rights movement in Jackson, Miss., where black women were trusted to raise white children but not to polish the household silver. Eugenia Skeeter Phelan is just home from college in 1962, and, anxious to become a writer, is advised to hone her chops by writing about what disturbs you. The budding social activist begins to collect the stories of the black women on whom the country club sets relies and mistrusts enlisting the help of Aibileen, a maid who’s raised 17 children, and Aibileen’s best friend Minny, who’s found herself unemployed more than a few times after mouthing off to her white employers. The book Skeeter puts together based on their stories is scathing and shocking, bringing pride and hope to the black community, while giving Skeeter the courage to break down her personal boundaries and pursue her dreams. Assured and layered, full of heart and history, this one has bestseller written all over it"
53tdogsParticipanteven seen any cats or dogs on the streets waiting for a forever kind and loving home. I’ll need to get my rescue group into Salem to check to see how that is done or else Salem must take them all to the edge of town and shoo them away. Or else Vivi is wearing fur again…maybe the missing children are taking care of the homeless pets up in Carolyn’s attic? (Said tongue in cheek)
53tdogsParticipantthat’s not an argument or discussion that I’m going to get into but suffice I think the original intention of God, nature and what the original birth certificate and plumbing is sufficient enough to say a girl is a girl is a girl…or a boy is a boy…and neither the twain shall meet.
If scientists or doctors can cross a dog and a cat, (for a simple example) it doesn’t make it correct or right – just because you can physically do something medically, scientifically, or otherwise. Take it one step further, suppose a person believes that they should have a third eye or arm to make them "whole" human being, (and doctor’s have the ablility), would that make it right?
Or are we just a feel good society that grants every wish whether solvent or not like a geni in a bottle? Suppose this girl changes her mind in 20 years and decides that she does not want the plumbing of a man anymore, are we going to "change back" like a hair color?
53tdogsParticipanttogether, Cher had Elija Blue with the rocker…
