dealt with the disease – it showed a doctor’s wife with the illness as it progressed. They (Grey’s) did a very good job of it, I hope that DOOL will attempt to try to go that far in showing what happens. And sad for the character of Caroline, since Bo won’t be around to help his Ma deal with it.
53tdogsParticipantShe was diagnosed during the last two years of her life. I tried to take care of her (with little or no family support) 24/7 (against her own doctor’s advice) for six months – it’s the toughest thing to watch have happen to someone. It is terrifying to see someone "fade" into someone that looks like the person you know – but they are not that person anymore.
I’m not sure of why the stat’s seem to show that this disease is becoming so much more prevalent here in our society today, I’ve read as much as possible – they just do not know. They have ideas, fat in the diet, aluminum foil, chemicals, to me all those things cause a lot of disease and illness. My mother was the only one in the family that I am aware of that developed the illness.
I applaud the show for tacking this issue – I just hope they don’t gloss over it as they have in the past with other health traumas however, I am sure that they will not do the issues justice – they won’t show the real "ugliness" of what actually happens to Caroline as the disease progresses, like she opens the door to strangers or goes off with them, or walks outside at 3:00 a.m. in her undies, or gives away items from her home and is secrertive and suspicious of family, or has "sundowners" (a symptom of Alzheimers where the person becomes agressive in the late afternoon and early evening even though two hours prior they were happy-go-lucky).
The show could surprise me if they do address the issue though, but given the shows history of people being shot and two weeks later ‘doing the macarana’ or "face transplants" or other serious medical issues – I don’t hold out hope for that – but it would be nice.
53tdogsParticipant"Thanks for the memories…" hahahha! Seriously.
53tdogsParticipantyour Dad and family (and Bonnie your friends Mom) – God does answer prayers and may He guide the surgeons hands as He heals.
53tdogsParticipanther men – was and is and will be "Sami".
53tdogsParticipantthose still!
53tdogsParticipantwould botch up a criminal investigation if they caught someone in the act of the crime. Ballistics in Salem? Nahhhh…that’s a store across from the Pub.
53tdogsParticipantJason Brooks…"caught with her hand in the proverbial cookie jar" as it were… Jason played Peter…and Jennifer and Peter did "hook up" (wayyyyyyyyy back in 1994) on the show as characters (and as well as in real life – hence Melissa had to quit the show immediately – she was sued by Corday as well). Remember the paint fumes in Laura Horton’s office that made Laura nutso that Peter did? Peter caused all kinds of havoc and mayhem.
53tdogsParticipantas well? I thought he was a handsome man.
53tdogsParticipantthat Tanya is doing well and fully recovered. I really did like her on the show, talented lady.
53tdogsParticipantbelly-dancer on in the top 20 of SYTYCD – she is proud of her mid-east heritage. What’s wrong with with the writers/NBC having Kristen/Susan being held captive in a harem? It’s a fact of life over there – women are still today third class citizens. Can’t change historical or current facts to puddin’ coat the Hollyweird bunch – I refuse to.
53tdogsParticipantI agree Patti – she WAS Celeste! I also thought she had class – and I loved the clothes she wore, (even when they were over the top – Celeste carried the outrageous fashions much better than Katie could ever hope to). Loved everytime I heard her say, "Well, you know darrrrrrrling…"
53tdogsParticipantwhat that is…) that doesn’t watch the big J and Alex! I sure hope that he gets better – he’s like a family friend on t.v. every evening just after dinner time. I love it because I learn things on it and keep my brain functioning! I am so amazed at the folks that answer some of those questions!
53tdogsParticipantwas sitting there in a harem suit with the chains…and then no more – that’s why I want an explanation! Come on writer’s it would take five minutes at the most doing a fast forward time line of what happened to her. And did Susan leave her beloved hubby to return to Salem? These are the kinds of things I wonder about…and go hmmmmmmm….
53tdogsParticipantCan’t wait for Eileen to return…just stay away from JB Kristen.
