annieoParticipant
Loved that the teeny bit of today’s show that I caught was Victor in Maggie’s room. When he left and then watched from the hallway, it actually made me emotional. I’m glad they put the two of them together as a couple.
annieoParticipantI think after watching yesterday it’s sometimes used to hide a "crying baby" when you obviously could see he wasn’t crying, under a blanket or not under a blanket. I thought they were never going to turn off the crying baby sound.
annieoParticipantEOM
annieoParticipantHave only seen him a couple times, Smarmy, Slimy, Gives me the Creeps. Why did they go with an Australian accent when they just had a villain character on that looked (and sounded) practically like the current character. Not a good choice.
annieoParticipantDon’t they have the early shows on tape so they can go back and look at them? Seems like that would be the ideal way to get hair and clothing styles correct. DOOL was always very glamorous, Liz in the nightclub, etc. Why not start with the footage and work from that? Too late, the show was shot months ago!
annieoParticipant[Aug 10-23 issue with Miss Piggy & Kermit on the front.] The article starts out "There’s Bad, There’s evil. There’s utterly contemptible. And then there’s Theresa Donovan. The hilarious, pint-size hellcat of NBC Days of our Lives played with sex, sass and sarcasm. . . even hitting Drake Hogestyn on the head with a poker. . . didn’t seem to shake viewer devotion." Hilarious?? Viewer devotion? I must have missed something. I just have to tell myself it’s only the character she’s playing, but I really hate the character. Interesting, though, she’s been married 8 years to a truck driver who delivers chips for Frito-Lay, she’s a deeply committed Christian, and has a degree in envrionmental science from the Univ. of Virginia.
annieoParticipantI enjoyed both of them alot. My husband and I are also great fans of Downton Abbey and I saw two of the actors (both butlers on Downton) in The Crimson Field. They set some mysteries on The Crimson Field; it will be interesting to see them play out. We are also huge fans of Call the Midwife. I go through a whole range of emotions, from laughing to crying, watching the Midwife’s. I’m glad to see something replace both those shows on Sunday evening until the new seasons start. We never watched the original Poldark way back in the mid-70’s. Probably hadn’t discovered PBS at that time! Of course, for humor, there’s always Doc Martin which I believe/hope is coming back in 2016.
annieoParticipantI looked up Melissa Archer images – Definitely no uniboob there! She seems to favor the let ’em all hang out approach.
annieoParticipantI signed up for the Adult Summer Reading Program at our local library. I’ve read four books in the last 2 weeks. I pick them strictly for enjoyment, unlike my husband, who only reads non-fiction, technical stuff! The TV has been gathering dust in our house this summer – not that we’re huge TV watchers anyway, but we do stream movies from Netflix. If you do have Netflix, watch Grace and Frankie, with Jane Fonda, Lily Tomlin, Martin Sheen and Sam Waterston. Two actresses portraying their actual ages! It’s well acted and well scripted, funny, and hits home all at the same time. Seems like every time I get invested in a TV show, it’s cancelled.
annieoParticipantChildish, ditzy, silly. Remember Calliope? She was all those things, but Melanie’s portrayal of them wears thin after awhile, where Calliope’s were part of her charm. Loved her and Eugene together. The good ‘ole days!
annieoParticipantI swear in the one scene where she was getting ready, the dress from the back looked like you could see her butt crack it was so tight. And the hair extension, if that’s what it was, looked like a horse tail. Not attractive. I wonder how many more days this wedding will last.
annieoParticipantThe only good thing about Theresa not showing up for her job is that we don’t have to witness Anne and Theresa in the same scenes. And I said the same thing weeks ago – how can Brady continue to do his job when he is supposedly high all the time? Theresa definitely keeps "feeding" the stuff to Brady – using his money of course. This storyline absolutely has gone on far too long. My dad always had some good sayings stored up and this is one time I want to say to the writers "S##t or get off the pot" – no pun intended.
annieoParticipantMore disgusting characters – Brady and Theresa.
annieoParticipantLike Sami, with all their money, couldn’t hire a wedding planner? Probably the powers that be didn’t want to pay an extra to play the part, so sure, let’s ask Abigail. Like we all can’t see where this is going. The circle of Salemites is too small that everybody is in everybody’s face and business all the time. I’m so tired of Sami and her acting out, flying off the handle, "harrumphing" around, and her impulsive behavior with Kate. How many adults do you know that would go off like that? If I were AS, I would be so glad to get the h&ll out of Dodge. I would be bone weary of playing the part of Sami Brady. I know I’m bone weary of watching her.
annieoParticipantShe may have shot him, but she sure has had a complete about face with her demeanor. When she hit Nick with the rock and then went through all the crap with Sami and Kate you couldn’t shut her up. That’s why everyone knew about it because she was so jumpy. Now she’s acting like nothing has happened and has been that way for days, like nothing is wrong. Maybe she’s supposed to be in shock.
