BonbonParticipant
First, since I had lymph nodes removed from my right arm, they can’t use that one. Plus, having had chemo, in the other arm, it tends to shrink blood vessels and make them very difficult to access. Consequently, because I receive monthly iron infusions and quarterly stuff for my bones, my doctor has put a port in my chest under the skin. Now, they just stick the needle in the port and give or take whatever they need. In the past I have had techs poke me seven and eight times trying to get a vein. THAT is not fun!
BonbonParticipantTubes that need to keep the blood from coagulating have an anti-coagulate in them. Look and you will see some whitish-colored substance at the bottom of the tube.
BonbonParticipantI can remember hearing the story while the manger scene was played out by the kids, when I was very, very young.
But, then, if the kid has had no religious education, they probably wouldn’t understand.
BonbonParticipantThat was terrible! I’ve heard five-year olds sing it better than that. I was embarrassed for them.
BonbonParticipantIt’s supposed to be 84ยบ today. That’s okay though. I’ve had enough cold and snow in my lifetime. Santa puts wheels on his sled when he comes here. :o)
BonbonParticipantsome hilarious things at time. But isn’t it spelled Deveraux? Or do I have to slap you with the ruler again? :o)
BonbonParticipantThat way we won’t have to ever worry about her return. I wish they had done that to Ava so she couldn’t have come back. Hmmm, could we kill her off now?
BTW, if she fooled Kayla into believing she had leukemia, Kayla ought to be fired from her position in the hospital immediately and her doctor license permanently revoked. Heck, shut down the whole hospital if they confirmed it.
BonbonParticipantthat the writers don’t hire the actors?
BonbonParticipantYou obviously have never lost someone you love like life itself. I don’t think there is any age limit to the hurt it causes. That’s not limited to teens. And I think Maggie was referring to her understanding Victor’s motive for moving Caroline in and not acting like a love-sick teenager over it. Although I hate that Victor is putting her through that. Very insensitive of him.
But I agree with you over the cancer marker. I’m sure it can be very traumatic knowing it’s possible to get breast cancer but, as a survivor of it, I have to say it’s not the worst thing in the world to have. If I was going to get cancer, that is the kind to get because it is so curable. And after you have raised your children, you don’t really need them anymore anyway, plus, you can always get reconstruction which, in the end, you usually end up better looking than before. Besides, the statistics these days are that one in six women will get breast cancer in their lifetime. The only thing knowing about the marker can do is allow you to have a mastectomy in advance but you could do that anyway.
BonbonParticipantYou’ve said before how much you liked JER and I questioned your sanity then and I do again now. His writing would have been good for something like the X-Files but certainly not the quality TV we have in Days. I could barely watch it while he was at the wheel. The spinning bed, the floating possessed Marlena, the space twins, Horton the lion (or was it a tiger?), the pillow pregnancy, the Garden of Eden, the five Banks siblings and the amazing transformation of Susan into Kristen, someone please, stop me…
Seriously, though, we viewers are very fickle. We raved and raved about the storylines when they first came on because they were so good but it’s kind of impossible to keep that up all the time. We are going to have to accept some stinkers along the way. On the whole, I don’t think they have been all that bad but all I can say about JER’s is, O-M-G, what was he smoking?
BonbonParticipantDevereaux’s hate windows? I’ve never heard of a “hate windows.” Were there some kind of racial slurs written on them or something?
I would have said the Deverauxs hate windows. But then, so does Chad…poor windows.
BonbonParticipantWith so many beautiful Christmas songs, why did they have to pick that one? Ugh! Babes In Toyland certainly isn’t what I’d call a beloved classic.
BonbonParticipantNobody would notice Ava had had patch on her arm when the put the IV in her? Puhleeze! I think they have jumped the whale!
BonbonParticipantI didn’t like him at all for the way he treated Farah so I guess I won’t like him as Philip either. I wasn’t overly fond of the other one so it didn’t matter much to me who replaced him but now, when I see this dude, all I’ll be able to think of is what a sleaze he is IRL.
BonbonParticipantHe talks exactly the same way.
