ParticipantI’d say the show isn’t very much different than has been for the past 40+ years. I think we tend to forget the horrible stories that dragged on forever. I know, since the internet, where I’ve been active regarding the show since 1994, there have been the same complaints over and over and over. Why we forget about this, I can’t imagine. At least we no longer have to suffer through people talking to themselves ad infinitum, or some of the other horrible things James Reilly consistently threw at us.
So, I just tell myself, this will eventually go away to be replaced with something else we can gripe about and I’ll just enjoy the good stuff when it’s on. Totalling it all up, I think we get more good than bad. In fact, a lot of the good stuff turns bad only because it’s repeated so often. So, hang in there, ladies, this too shall pass.

Participantthem ever hanging a Christmas ornament for him either. Maybe he went with Don Craig to the mailbox and they disappeared together. I suppose Cassie and lots of others are with them too.

Participantthe tape was just a ploy to discover whatever it is Kate found in that envelope. I think that’s going to be the main storyline.
BTW, poor Madeline is buying her clothes at WalMart. While visiting my son, we were going out on his boat and his MIL didn’t have anything appropriate to wear so she ran over to WalMart and came back with the exact same blouse Madeline is wearing. And, gawd!, I wish they’d do something with that horrible hair. With her face shape, that long, straight, thin, hair certainly isn’t very flattering.

Participantshe was engaged to Philip Collier, played by Richard Burgi, who also played Bree Van de Kamp’s lover and Susan’s ex on Desperate Housewives. I would think by now she would have either married him or moved on.

Participantbecause he was adopted.
And I don’t know about anybody else but I’m tired of this storyline already. I can see it’s going to be EXTREMELY contrived.

ParticipantI leave a state that’s going to fall off into the Pacific Ocean and move to one that’s going to explode!
Seriously, I don’t think most people fully understand the potential impact this is having. It has been dubbed the worst natural disaster in recorded history.
And I’ve heard the same thing about the animals. Not only what you mentioned but the cleaning removes all their natural oils that protect their bodies and they will die of many other causes.
Now I’m not a rocket scientist but it seems to me the drilling of one, or ideally two, relief wells would solve the problem. So why aren’t they frantically this done? I don’t know. But somebody better get it taken care of soon or we may not live to regret it.
The Sun-Sentinel newpaper published my letter to the editor last week that I think sums up the whole thing. It said: We can send a man to the moon, why can’t we stop this oil leak."
And thanks for your offer. Do you really have 53 dogs??? I guess you wouldn’t notice my two then.

ParticipantOr was that intentional. LOL
I agree about the alcohol and they should have been able to determine the drug was a "roofie" and not something an addict would typically take. You don’t take a recreational drug to make you fall asleep and forget everything that happened.

ParticipantI would definitely NOT say anything. It is none of my business and has nothing to do with me. First of all, they’re not married yet which has some bearing on it. Second, I believe that Chloe is truly sorry for what she did and there was no emotional involvement with Philip nor will there be any temptations with him in the future. Chloe loves Daniel very much, and, had she not had every belief that he was sleeping with Carly, it never would have happened…not that that justifies it, I just don’t see anything good that could come out of Daniel knowing and could totally destroy their future together should he find out. Too much of a chance to take. I’m not God.
Now if it were a close family member (the harmed one, not the harmee), I might reconsider.

Participantwho know everything <tongue in cheek> he says it is probably because of all the medical claims they got from volunteers after the Valdez oil spill in Alaska. So this way, everybody will have had the hazmat training and, because they are actual employees, will be covered by worker’s comp and therefore cannot make any claims against the company for what may arise in the future.
I can understand that reasoning but haven’t they ever heard of a waiver? I’d certainly be willing to sign one that I will not bring any claim of any sort that may result from my volunteering. It just seems to be such a waste of manpower. And with all these poor people (fishermen, etc.) losing their livelyhood too. Pity.

Participantnever had any interaction at all. It was all a back story when they decided they wanted Lucas to be a Horton.
There was someone keeping Laura drugged and in the mental hospital though but I can’t remember right now who it was. (The only one I can think of who might have done it is Angelica Devereaux.) They played with Laura’s mental illness so much we didn’t really know if she was or if she wasn’t. There was bad writing even way back then.

Participantdidn’t know what to do with myself so went back to work for another six years. At least I got full Social Security then. This time I made it.
Congratulations on your acheivement. Enjoy it while you’re young. There’s nothing like getting up in the morning and being able to do whatever you darn well want to. The only problem I’m having now is I can’t sleep any later than I did before. My eyes just pop open at 6:15. That’s just not fair!

ParticipantI think I posted about this before. I looked into volunteering to help clean up. But here’s the catch. NO VOLUNTEERS! You have to become an employee and take the OSHA hazmat course mentioned above to the tune of $300!!!
I don’t want a full-time job but I DO want to help clean up animals or beaches or whatever I can do during the time I have available…but not under these constraints. There are thousands of people willing to volunteer but they are not being used/accepted. What’s wrong with this picture?

ParticipantI don’t know what was. There wasn’t even a pinch of belief that Brady might be telling the truth. Wouldn’t the first inclination be to believe the one you love? Nah! Not in Salem it isn’t. Brady was right on the money when he said he had doubts about the future of this relationship. Well you got that one right Brady.
Yes, this will certainly leave vacancies for others to move into. Time to switch partners, all the way around.

ParticipantI don’t think so. Since Arianna is his fiance, it would be perfectly okay for Lexie to notify her that he is in the hospital and why he is there. I don’t think it would have been any different than if he’d been in a car accident.

ParticipantI didn’t think he looked older than 59. And he seemed to be doing a very credible job of "being" Bill. Yes, I hope he stays around for awhile too. Maybe he’ll seduce Kate and then break her heart. Oh, please, oh, please…
I don’t know what he’s doing with Laura either. Maybe we are just to assume they have ‘hooked up’ again? Laura certainly hasn’t aged very well has she? I thought she looked awful, almost like she has had plastic surgery that went wrong. I’m not being catty, just frank.
