There has not been a good John/Marlena storyline since the Salem Stalker 2003/2004 in my opinion. Actually John and Marlena seem to work pretty well when they bring each other up to date in their apartment after interacting alone with othe cast members.
Yes , Caroline has been used several times now after a long dry spell. Today I believe was the first time a memory loss or memory mistake was mentioned. Unfortunantly I believe this will mean the eventual end of the character and unfortunantly Peggy McKay as a cast member.
I know the ageing of children on soaps varies with storylines but Brady should be much younger than Jennifer closer to Abigale or Melanie.
I imagine the subject of Soap Opera aging has already come up with Johnny. The young actor has grown with the part and has a lot of fans so it has been hard to do in this case. As long as he remains in the part it will be difficult to age the other young actors as well.
I thought the "slow scenes" were great. I feel that Nick is being looked at differently than say Hope who was going to burn Bo alive while on pills. Nick not only took a bullet for Melanie but he also gave her a formula that could have been worth a fortune if she hadn’t let it slip through her hands.
Brian was excellent. He is overlooked as an actor. He did have some attitude problems on his last contract but he seems to be a team player now. They will have to find a love interest for him or his stay may be over . Kate does need a child to argue with and with Billie going Lucas will be the only one on screen unless Parker’s father follows Chloe back to Salem.
Personally I’m glad to see the character back. Yes he will be used as part of the reason Melanie is leaving but I believe he may already have been considered before that plot line was decided on. He will give a fresh look to some of the younger characters and I am sure the Horton family angle will be played up. It already allowed Julie to get involved which hasn’t happened for a long time. Julie and Doug have only been holiday window dressing for several years.
The writers wern’t using the hospital set so they had no real reason to use a under 5/6 line recurring character. Yes it is good to see he back again.
It seems logical to tie Nick’s return in with Melanie’s (the character) exit. After almost being killed by a psycho in the tunnels she will come into contact with someone who she last interacted with in a somewhat same manner. Not to mention that she practically gave away the formual Nick gave her trying to make amends.
The actor is doing a great job, with more to come. He’s been away a year and picked up right where he left off. My analysis, his comments about how family/ friends think about you behind your back is going to affect Will when he is kissed by Sonny. He comforts Gabi, has sex , and then what, she is maybe pregnant , and then he returns to Sonny. Classic soap scenario.
Yes, it is possible T is a closet gay or at least hates gays because of his own personal mixed feelings. Common among homophobes.
Ian said all the stuff out loud to catch everybody up who probably forgot the storyline after two weeks off or forgot the storyline months ago because it was not watchable.
It appears Madison passed. I wonder if true to Salem history her spirit will make a few stops before she leaves for good.
Sami is not a small girl. I’ll give whoever credit, she was rubbing her shoulder after the fact, but I think the amount of time she was held by one arm would have caused her a more serious shoulder injury.
It was the Grey haired agent that was a turncoat not spencer. I think they wanted Rafe out of the way so that everyone wasn’t involved in the cliffhanger. COuld have even been vacation time for the actor.
Lucas is aother one of the guys in love/lust with Sammi. They have a long track record. His disgust with EJ is legitimate. EJ tried to kill him in a Refrigerated trailer for no other reason than to get rid of him. The character needs to man up and quit whining. I hope to goodness that they don’t put Rafe back in the mix but unfortunantly Carrie’s last comments make me think that might happen.
John Anniston is a very competent actor. He knows his character. He is one of the few on the show that can take whatever is written for him and make it sound like it is coming out of his character’s mouth. they have softened him over the years but he is still Victor. He hasn’t lied about Nicole. She has caused a lot of grief for his family members. I think all of the younger characters don’t give Victor the respect he deserves. I like Maggie, but she knew what she was getting into when she married him. If the writers continue to have her get upset every time he gives someone a piece of advice they might as well send her back to her house and bake cookies.
