Even if you have the arrangements made ahead of time you don’t know the date of your death or even the year so you can’t have that part engraved ahead of time, only the stone picked out and the birth date. When my parents died, in Chicago, I was told they had to wait until the ground settled before adding the stone. They added my dad’s a bit too soon and it started sinking on one side and had to be removed and reinstalled.
DeeLanParticipantNot sure but were the daytime emmy’s a Dick Clark Production and he does produce a lot of shows on daytime as well as night time.
DeeLanParticipantSame here. I especially loved puzzled look on Sami’s face when Kate was being nice and civil, asking how the service was and inquiring about Lucas and Will.

DeeLanParticipantRoman was already with Marlena when Carrie showed up at his door, she was probably around 5 or 6 and said he was her daddy. Then Anna came and the backstory was that they were married and Anna died in a boating accident. Aparently she had been sold into white slavery but she was pregnant with Carrie at the time.

The surgeon did a great job and unless you count you can’t tell it’s gone. It’s the pinky on the left hand and when we got married he didn’t think he could wear a wedding ring but a year later he decided he wanted one and he wears it on his middle finger. When we meet people they don’t notice and don’t ask and if he ever brings it up they’re shocked to find out it’s missing.
He can joke about it. One time his nephew held up his hand and said "High Five" and Don held up his and said "No, High Four" He laughes at that Zappo’s commercial where the puppet starts counting the ways they’re better. He counts on his fingers up to 4 and when he gets to 5 runs out of fingers and yells. He thinks that’s hilarious of course I don’t know if the laughter is to cover up the fact that he’s upset or if he really does think it’s funny.
DeeLanParticipantEveryone there with a couple of exceptions (Stephanie, Nathan, the new Bill and the little ones) have worked with Frances and have a history with the Alice character so emotions had to be real. I’m sure it felt like they were saying good-bye to Frances all over again as well as to an era.
I’m now wondering with the Horton Matriarch officially gone will that be then end of the Hortons as the main family in Salem and will the Brady’s take over even though they’re spread so far apart or will it be the DiMera’s since they keep growing and adding new family members every other day. I mean, Stefano has seemed to adopt "Young William" as one of his own now.
DeeLanParticipantI also thought it was touching when they were placing the roses on the casket. When it was Caroline’s turn she kissed her rose and mouthed "Good-bye Alice" Don’t know if that was in the script or not but it is something a dear friend would do.
DeeLanParticipantAgree but even the parts that weren’t involved in the tribute you could tell they were still affected by Alice’s passing. Shane and Rafe on the plane talked about it and about Sami and Kim. Kate was civil to Sami and even asked about the funeral and how Lucas and Will were holding up. For the first time there was no backbiting, arguing (except when Kim ran away from Shane) It was wonderfully done.
DeeLanParticipantHe was on again later but not for long. Don’t remember what happened to him.
Wikipedia says he left for good in 1979 and returned briefly for Tom and Alice’s fifthieth wedding anniversary in March of 1980, and is presumably told of both his fathers Tom Sr’s death in 1994 and his brother Mickey’s death in 2010 but does not return to town for either of the funerals.

DeeLanParticipantDoug and Julie are another example of a couple who pop in from time to time. It’s always great to see them when they come back it makes you realize what a great job they do.
DeeLanParticipantYou mentioned what a great job Ciera did. Did you notice at the end of Hope’s speach they did a close up of Ciera and she had a tear running down her face. It was priceless and so touching.
DeeLanParticipantCarrie wasn’t told she couldn’t get pregnant, she was told there was a rare problem with her and Austin’s blood and any kdis they have birth defects. That’s why she married Lucas, because she wanted to have kids.
DeeLanParticipantKim
DeeLanParticipantHow about when they zoomed in on the package Allie was holding. She said "it’s delicious" as she unfolded the top so it could be seen better. I wonder who was on the sidelines coaching her.
