AH YES, memories. Our street was 2 blocks long and we’d start at one person’s house standing outside yelling "YO MARY" and waiting for someone to come to the door. Then the 2 of us would go to the next house. Eventually all the kids were outside riding bikes or on the porch playing with dolls. On weekends all the parents would gather on one porch and we were allowed to play after dark but had to stay in view. During the day anyplace was fine. The parents never knew exactly where we were but knew we were someplace on the street or in someone’s house. We knew what time we had to be home and if inside we always told the mom we had to be home at a certain time and they reminded us.
I remember we use to put playing cards on the spokes of our bikes with a clothes pin to make it sound like a motor and would pretend we rode motorcycles or we’d pretend our bikes were horses. Do kids even have bikes anymore? We used our imaginations and anything was possible. I was born in 57 and when I was younger the Monkees were popular and a group of us had our own band with a set of bongos and pencils for drums, 2 Swinging Cat guitars (yellow plastic) and a tamborine made from a needlepoint ring and bottle caps. We were the Monkees and would sing along with the records. I was Mickey.
I also grew up in a family big on card games and poker was high on the list and I learned how to play poker at an early age. My aunt’s mother-in-law was on social security and couldn’t afford to loose too much money so they called $5 Poverty. Each person pulled out $5 and that’s all they used throughout the entire game. They started out with a nickle ante and could raise a nickle at a time. When they were all in they could still play and call but couldn’t bet or raise. If they won the pot they could start raising again. If one person ended up with all the money the game ended and they’d have to pull out another $5 but that rarely happened and they could play all night and only loose up to $5.
I remember when I was about 10 I had a list of what beat what and I’d play with my parents and once in a while I could play in the $5 poverty games with the adults. They helped me a lot especially if I had trouble seeing that I was already beat on the table so I wouldn’t call, or bet needlessly.
When Merideth and that new resident with the crush on Derrick were working on Owen who got shot Merideth had a miscarriage. She doubled over a few times and the other resident asked if she was OK. Merideth said yes and the resident asked why there was blood running down her thigh. Merideth in her non emotional way said "I’m having a miscarriage." That was the end of it.
I thought the SWAT team was outside the room when the shot went off. They’d just gotten there and were sneaking up to the doorway at the time.
One thing, this show had so many twists and turns it kept you glued to your seat.
I wonder if Nicole hadn’t miscarried and gone down the path of baby switching would she have really changed with the love of EJ and the family life she never had.
I was going on what I’d read years ago. Michael Douglas’ first wife said he was a sex addict. When he went to rehab for drugs several years ago it was rumored that he was also seeking treatment for sex addiction.
But we all know what they say. Believe half of what you read and none of what you hear.
When the resident in the room with Bailey got shot I thought they were going to kill off every resident that came from that other hospital.
From the previews I had a suspicion that Derrick would get shot and thought that would be the cliffhanger. Then I thought it would end after we heard the shot in the room with The Chief (he’ll always be The Chief to me) and the shooter. I figures we wouldn’t find out until next year who got shot. The show didn’t end up with any cliffhanger except will Christine and Owen get back together and will someone slip and tell Derrick that Merideth was pregnant. I do wonder if the thrill of being pregnant will make her want to start trying for a baby next season.
Ever since Cassie said she wanted to have a baby I thought Marc would be the daddy. Of course I also thought he’d adopt his grandchild and Cassie would help him raise it.
Didn’t Michael Douglas come out a few years ago that he was a sex addict and went to therapy for it. I think there was another celebrity that used that excuse also. Whatever’s the new rage in Hollywood catches on and everyone wants to have it.
Right. First she slept with Phillip while married to Brady, then she has an affair with Daniel while married to Lucas, now he hears a secret hinting that she slept with someone while with Daniel. That would give anyone the impression she’s a sex addict.
How can Bo be framed for the muggings He was out of state with Kimberly when Brady was attacked and on a plane when it happened to Roman.
Wasn’t CBS also the network that had Jericho and they canceled that after the first season but the fans protested and they brought it back. The problem is, they have split seasons or show a few new episodes then have a month or more of reruns. When they start with new episodes again the viewers they had have already found something else to watch during that time slot. Why can’t they go back to the entire season of 22-26 episodes THEN take the summer off with reruns rather than all the breaks and reruns being constantly shown.
Primetime TV gives you an added respect for daytime actors/actresses. They film a new show every day, not a new show once a week for 4-5 episodes then get a month or more off.
Dial Idol which usually gets the predictions correct this late in the season has Lee with the most votes this week (double the person belowe him), followed by Crystal and Casey going home.
