I agree they’re reflecting on society’s actions but people watch soaps for an escape. Use to be a couple went through trials and tribulations and remained true, they worked through them and there were fairy tale relationships. Maybe society has gotten away from that type of thing but if you look at the success of the movies out there people still want to see that.
I remember when Alice was making donuts to break Roman out of jail, helping Bo and Howie to sabotage Hope and Larry’s wedding. Tom was upset but stood by her through it all. When Alice thought Tom was having an affair when he was really reciting poetry in a coffee house, she didn’t leave him but stuck by him. Those are the relationships I want to see. Not the ones where a little rough patch and one if not both are jumping in the sack with someone else.
DeeLanParticipantIf I remember correctly Nancy knew Chloe was alive and wasn’t led to beleive she died. Her father was embarassed that his daughter got pregnant and insisted she give the baby up for adoption. Nancy knew she was in that orphanage. BUT I do agree, Chloe should remember that time when her mother brought her into her home and ho she felt finding out Nancy was her mother and later that Craig was her father. She should be more receptive to Melanie and be the one that’s able to help her with her emotions. She should also be able to help Daniel through finding out Melanie is his daughter, all from her own experiences.
March 23, 2010 at 2:38 pm in reply to: Question about Judi Evans when she was in her Bonnie role on Days #11477DeeLanParticipantYes, I remember reading recently that one of the main reasons John Clarke left that role was the way they were taking the character.
I just hated that they re-wrote history when they brought Bonnie back. Mimi grew up in a loving family and had a normal childhood except for when her dad lost his job and they were living on the streets then the Habitat for Humanity house that all the teens helped build. To have the family suddenly become dysfunctional, the mother a lush and con artist and dad an abuser and deadbeat didn’t just re-write one character but an entire family’s history.
DeeLanParticipantA friend has a son who’s autistic. He was a slow talker when he was younger, acually was over 5 years old and wouldn’t communicate. He was hard to potty train even at 5-6 years old. Today he’in his mid-late 20’s is a good conversationalist, knows a lot about computers and drives a car.
DeeLanParticipantHas Sami’s past ever been documented on record or is she like the rest of Salem, got off scott free. I know she was on death row for Franco’s murder but when Kate had that other guy confess and Sami got off wasn’t all charges dropped since she didn’t commit the murder at all. Could that be held against her?
DeeLanParticipantOH they arreste them. They just mess it up so much they get off in a matter of minutes OR they arrest the wrong person.
DeeLanParticipantattempted murder (he was responsible for the bomb that made Nick wacky for a while)
stealing John’s kidney
DeeLanParticipantI’m wondering if fashion was something that Lawrence kept from her. She did say she was a virtual prisoner and if he controlled everything about her he probably also controlled her looks and how she dresses BUT she’s a free woman now and you’d think she’d get a makeover by now.
DeeLanParticipantI wonder if they’ll have any tension betwee Carrie and Mike or conveniently forget that they were even a couple.
Wonder if Shane was coming back before Frances Ried passed and if he’ll be involved with Rafe, Bo and Roman? That should be good, get some international espionage going on.
DeeLanParticipantMaybe Stefano has Tony back on that island and he’ll send Anna there to be with him and keep her out of their hair.
DeeLanParticipantWhy not????
DeeLanParticipantJust read Prevuze for tomorrow’s show. EJ hangs up after talking to Sami and says
This is much better than the original plan. With me here, I’ll be able to make her fall in love with me and I’ll break her heart and get to watch the whole thing happen."
DeeLanParticipantRafe is very suspicious of EJ. I’m thinking he just doesn’t want to tip his hand, preferring to let EJ get overly confidant and mess up.
DeeLanParticipantPart of the treatment for MG is high doses of steroids which is something SR had to deal with when she was first diagnosed. She was upset about the weight gain and facial changes that occured and has weaned herself down on her meds over the years. I’m sure they’re going to be putting that into the storyline as well as the fact that Maggie will have to slow down and not be as active as she’s use to being. I can see this story being something that SR can bring personal feelings and insight into and hopefully the powers that be will let her do it her way to make sure it’s done right.
March 12, 2010 at 6:33 pm in reply to: I really enjoyed the conversation between Stephanie and Melanie….. #11239DeeLanParticipantOwen was the gardner at the Kuriakas. He also worked for Stefano and kidnapped Stephanie (this one) and held her in the mosoleum.
