If Melanie went to school in Europe she may be ahead academically but I do remember when she had her 18th birthday after she came to Salem. Mia might be a year behind since she probably took a year off while she was pregnant and went to Japan but with Salem who knows.
DeeLanParticipantJust because they said colleague doesn’t mean he was a medical doctor. It could very well have been Trent since he’s a college professor and most likely has a PhD that would make him a Dr. of ___. He could have been an attendee or a speaker. Of course Trent was into so many different schemes he could have been posing as a medical doctor at the convention.
DeeLanParticipantI always thought the ultimate price Vivian was talking about was loosing her daughter. I thought she’d drive Carly nuts and either kill her daughter or make her daughter hate her so much she’d loose her forever.
DeeLanParticipantIt’ll come out in some convoluted way that he was undercover, trying to lure Vivian in somehow or there was some other reason he was doing this and he couldn’t tell Hope what was going on. Then the angry looks won’t be because he’s angry at Hope but that he’s angry at himself because of what this is doing to her.

I guess he’ll still be in Salem but like the late Mickey Horton, not on screen.
January 12, 2010 at 10:20 pm in reply to: This situation with the characters of Bo and Carly makes me wonder if….. #9568DeeLanParticipantDidn’t Justin tell Bo that Hope asked him to file separatin papers.
DeeLanParticipantI agree what Bo did was disgusting and low BUT look at all the times Hopes slept with someone else and he’s taken her back. Granted she wasn’t really in her Hope mind when she was pregnant with Zack and they didn’t know who the father was but Bo took her back and accepted TJ as his own until the truth came out. Then she says her marriage is over sleeps with Patrick and ends up pregnant. Again Bo took her back and accepted the unborn baby thinking all the time Patrick was the daddy. That doesn’t justify Bo’s behavior this time around but why can’t Hope be as forgiving as she’s always expected Bo to be.
DeeLanParticipantI agree with the degrees of claustrophobia. I have no problem being in enclosed spaces as long as I can move my arms or I’m not penned in. I couldn’t play any games when I was little where I was tied up such as cowboys and Indians where we pretended to tie someone to a tree. When going for an MRI I’m OK if I can keep my arms over my head and be able to move them but if I have to keep my arms inside where they don’t have the freedom to move I freak. Even if I don’t move them I can’t feel penned in at all.
DeeLanParticipantIf/when Mrs. H. goes they’d better have ALL the family come back for that one. Even if it’s only showing people from the back to acknowledge they cared enough to come back.
DeeLanParticipantI’m not saying Mia’s bad choices were Nicole’s fault. I’m just thinking her nasty, witchy side could be her trying, unsuccessfully, to stop being everybody’s doormat and doing what they tell her is best for her. Yes, she made a bad choice having sex with Chad but who’s to say she instigated it. She might have caved under pressure and just gone along with it not to get him upset with her. She made a decision to give her baby away because she knew she couldn’t support it and take care of it. She might have gone about it the wrong way by selling her baby but again, we don’t know how she met Doc Baker. With no money she went to a clinic, away from Salem so her friend’s wouldn’t know what happned and he convinced her this was the best thing to do. Then Nicole comes into the picture. At first Mia didn’t want to give her baby to Nicole because she wasn’t married but Nicole convinces her and she again thinks she’s making the best decision.
I know I’m probably speculating a lot on how things happened but I see Mia as a girl who didn’t get much love from her mother and wanted that love so much she was afraid to upset people and have them also turn on her so she made bad choices by listening to these people who convinced her they cared about her. Now after she sees how those people took advantage of her she’s decided to start acting like them and see what that gets her.
DeeLanParticipantIs he really trying to keep Sydney from Sami or use this as a way to draw Sami closer to him? Having her lie to Rafe I don’t think is to keep Rafe from finding the link back to him but to have Sami keep things from him and drive a wedge between them.
DeeLanParticipantI’m thinking Nicole had a lot to do with Mia’s personality switch. She was always the "good girl" doing what everybody told her to do and people too advantage of that too many times. Nicole switching babies and not letting her know it was her baby that died was the last straw and she snapped. Now it’s damn the torpedoes full speed ahead and heaven help anybody who gets in her way.
DeeLanParticipantI pick Rafe for Sami. For all the reasons mentioned above as to why he’s good for her but also I see a lot of potential there with the DiMera’s. Him being FBI and them being, well, DiMera’s. More so than with Abe and Stefano since being FBI their jurisdiction is nationwide not local and their resources are far superior plus he’s got brains and more common sense than the entire SPD.
DeeLanParticipantI agree, the first thing would be call 911 or do CPR and a bit then call 911. You usually call for help. Even if you KNOW the person is gone and beyond help you still want there to be some hope and there’s the "what if" or "maybe" thoughts running through your head.
DeeLanParticipantI think they get rid of the vetarans because they don’t know what to write for them anymore. They’ve put them in a box and can’t figure out how to get them out so they toss them out. Bringing in new characters is like having a blank canvas and they can write them anyway they want. The problem is, they get into the same rut and continue the bad writing and making family connections with the established families they’re now in a smaller box than the vetaran they got rid of. So, they need to bring in another clean canvas but don’t have the money so get rid of someone else.
Rinse and repeat……
