I agree it’s not good for watch too much TV.  Not sure about the autism link but I do know kids need to play and use their imagination in pretend play and develop their fine motor skills which toys can do.  I also know studies have been done that kids watching TV too late in the evening or older kids playing video games too close to bedtime have a harder time falling asleep and are more sleep deprived.   The brain needs time to "unwind" before going to sleep and when you take a kid from action packed or fast moving TV or video games straight to bed their brains are still going at warp speed.  The same they’re now saying is true for kids who have computers and smart phones with texting and chatting capabilities.

Touchpads use to only refer to the little pad that moves the curser also called Trackpads (I HATE THOSE). Now touchpad is a term used for devices that don’t have an external keyboard but keyboards that appear on screen.  My tablet has one.  Hit a button and a keyboard pops up on the screen and that’s what you use to type.  No mouse, no trackpad, no way to control where you’re typing except to touch the screen where you want it to go.  Very difficult to correct a typo after the fact without deleting each letter back to the mistake.  I’ve noticed on forums I go to when people are on their iPads or other mobile devices they always have typos.

Usually when you see it done in an emergency it is done on someone who’s unconscious but if it’s an elective procedure then the person usually comes in awake and they sedate them.  When I worked in the hospital the docs would call us to come to the bedside and anesthesia would be there with IV sedation and they’d shock the person. This was usually a patient that was awake and alert.  We had to be on hand to start CPR in case it backfired and actually put them into a more dangerous rhythm or stopped the heart completely.

Not all cardiac shocks are defibrilliations.  That’s only if they rhythm is atrial or ventricular fibrilliation   When it’s another rhythm they call it cardioversion even though it’s the same thing.

Don was in atrial flutter and the doc put him on blood thinner for several months until the blood levels were where they wanted them. Then he was admitted as an outpatient, they used IV sedation and cardioverted him into a normal rhythm.  He’s since gone back into the atrial flutter and they’re just leaving it and he sees the cardiologist every few months.

Just read on several news sites that he lied to producers that his dad left him and he hasn’t seen him in 10 years.  His dad called TMZ and said that was crock because they see each other regularly.  Jermaine then tweeted that he never told the producers about his dad which they knew was a lie so they started investigating him.  They found out about arrests in 2011 and one was for violence.  He gave the police a fake name both times plus there are warrents still out on him.

From what I read he will be on tonight’s show and the show will address this during show tonight.  Not sure why he’ll still be on since it seems if he’s out he’s out but thinking they have the show planned down to the minute with him in it so unsure what’s going to happen.  Should be interesting to find out how they handle this though.  To me addressing it on air is a publicity ploy to get the viewers and non viewers to tune in.

I had a laptop I used for 5 years and when it came time for a new computer I wanted to go back to a desktop. Laptops are nice for people who are mobile which I wasn’t.  I now have my desktop with full keyboard and numbers on the side but we bought m keyboard with the specifications I wanted.  We also builty my computer from scratch so it’s exactly what I want.  Don won’t buy a pre-made computer for anything.  It’s also cheaper for a desktop to buy the case and each component separately and get exactly what you want and be able to upgrade parts easily without having to get an entirely new computer.

I have a tablet that I like for portability but I won’t work using it.  It’s too hard to type using the touchpad and I’m always hitting the screen in the wrong place and getting funky spelled words. I don’t even check emails on it since I want all my emails in one spot for business.  They do have keyboards you can get to use with the tablets adn when I had my laptop Don bought me a numbers only keypad that I could power via USB or put a small battery in and use it as a calculator without the computer. That was the best.  t was the size of a calculator

All I read was he posted that he was no longer with AI on his AI Twitter account.  His Twitter account has since been deleted.

When I was last in the hospital I had the choice of allowing calls through or not.   I didn’t want any calls coming in except my husband so it was easier if I just called him when I was up to talking.

Every hospital I’ve worked in or been a patient in (both Chicago and Southeast Alabama) the phones and TV’s have been standard in every room with the exception of ICU.  In ICU the nurses are close enough to call out if they need help, the family isn’t usually in the room long enough to need the phone and they don’t want the patient to be bothered or stressed out by a phone.  If one is needed they can always bring one in for the patient to use for the one call then they remove it again.

From what I understand if a contestant makes it to the final 24 that’s it, they can’t try out again.

Last week when they were announcing the results and Jimmy was giving his critique he said that about Ebon.  He felt he was a great singer but didn’t think he was strong enough for the competition but felt next year he would be and if AI didn’t change their rules he couldn’t come back which would be a shame.

Working in the medical field I can tell you when it’s a family member on the cart all your training goes out the window.  You panic just like any other family member.

I too don’t car for HeeJun.  He’s got a good voice but rubs me the wrong way.  The guy with the long curly hair reminds does remind me of that guy a few seasons ago with the dreadlocks that threw himself under the bus to get eliminated..  Last night he was decent but he sang in a normal voice, when he sings in that falsetto he’s awful.
