I’m a Registered Respiratory Therapist and while we worked in all areas of the hospital the nurses did not. They were specialized like doctors where in the ER they had to learn to triage and be the doctor’s eyes and ears when a patient first comes in. In the Critical Care Units (we had 3, SICU: Surgical Intensive Care, MICU: Medical Intensive Care and CICU: Cardiac Intensive Care) and you might have seen a nurse working in another unit to help out they each had their own unith they reported to. NICU is VERY specialized and they don’t work other areas on the same day due to the transference of germs. Maternity had L&D as well as the post partum floor, they rarely moved around then there’s the nursery which is hardly ever used anymore. Thpse nurses could do the post partum and work in the NICU if they were understaffed.

It’s usually not diagnosed this early. I’m thinking that if it is it was something else that brought the baby to the doctor and it was found accidently. This happens with a lot of cancers, just found on scans looking for something else.
I did find this when doing more research "Symptoms may include fatigue, loss of appetite, and fever. There may be a lump or compression of tissues in the affected area."

On Thursday’s episode Jennifer was pushed off a balcony and went into a coma. Ben came home looking for Ciara and found their place trashed and a woman’s arm sticking out behind some furniture. Eric confronted Sarah about being pregnant.
the end of Friday’s episode Jack was at Jennifer’s bedside with an hourglass John had given him. He turned it over and suddenly Jennifer woke up and it was a year later. Today we found out that Jordan was killed with her scarf and Ben’s in prison for it. Will is his cell mate but no idea why. Jj’s back on drugs and Sarah has a baby girl that her and Xander are passing off as his.
it was well done and they’re filling in gaps without having to go through long drawn out storylines.
