DeeLanParticipant
I agree about the real "true loves" but need to add Doug and Julie to the list. Yes they were with others before but you knew they always loved each other and eventually ended up together.
The others I mentioned were ones that found their "true love" in their minds then moved on as soon as the going got rough to another "true love". Those couples or people have no idea what real true love is.
DeeLanParticipantI liked Marlena when she first came on the show as Laura’s therapist then Don then Roman’s wife. The last few times she’s been she really gets on my nerves with her nose in the air and dictating propriety to others. Rather than being the strong woman I loved she’s turned into a one woman vigilante with anyone she feels has done wrong including everyone in her family except John.
DeeLanParticipantYes.
Here’s my take on some of the people/couples in Salem
Marlena was with Don then Roman was her love and now John though we all know John is her soulmate
Sami = Austin, Brandon, Austin, Lucas, Austin, Rafe. With a little EJ thrown in on the side
Chloe = Phillip, Brady, Daniel
Jennifer = I feel Jack is her true love but she’s getting tired of being the one left holding everything together while he goes off on a childish adventure and scheme
Melanie = dont’ think she’s found true love yet
Phillip = doens’t know what that means. He wants what someone else does. He had Chloe in high school but was the jealous, posessive type. Then Belle when she wanted Shawn, then Melanie when Nathan wanted her.
Doug and Julie were made for each other
Victor never loved the women in his life except for Caroline, possibly Isabella’s mother and now Maggie.
Brady = is capable of loving deeply and I do believe Chloe was the one for him
DeeLanParticipantMaybe that’s what he used to finance Kate’s business.
DeeLanParticipantHe was married to Carly, Vivian, Kate, Nicole, Vivian and Maggie. Only one of his marriages ended in divorce. Carley, and Vivian #1 were annulled. Kate and Nicoles were invalid. Kate’s was invalid because Curtis Reed was discovered alive Nicole was legally married to Trent at the time of her marriage to Victor. Vivian #2 was a divorce.
Kimberly had an affair with Victor and later had sex with him to save Shane. Savannah Wilder was working for him and that’s all.
DeeLanParticipantI don’t believe someone can just wake up one morning and be gay and I don’t believe something or someone can turn someone gay. I feel you were born that way. My brother was gay and grew up in the 50’s at a time when you were ostrasized if there was a hint or rumor. He was chased home from school and beat up almost daily and dropped out of school. I can’t believe someone would choose that lifestyle when they know that’s the way they’d be treated.
I’m just saying I can see them having Sami feel guilty enough to blame herself. Even though she has nothing to do with Will’s orientation the guilt might be good for her.
DeeLanParticipantIt might have been a symptom of lack of oxygen to the brain by whatever it was that caused the stroke but she had the stroke after she messed with the paternity test and was getting into everybody’s business.
DeeLanParticipantYou are so right. My niece was a problem since she was little and her parents took her to therapy. A doctor at that time said she will only change when she wants to and that will only happen when she has to. So far there’s no reason for her to have to change. She’s married but left her husband when she was pregnant with the 6 year old. She meets guys who have no future but they’re the greatest things since sliced bread and going to take care of her. What happens is they all move into her parents house, they support them all then the the niece gets a bug up her butt, moves out and the guy leaves because nobody’s there to support him. Then she comes back home, parents take her in and she meets another guy and the cycle repeats. She even tried girls for a while and was caught having sex with her brother by his girlfriend (both were adopted so no blood there but still gross). Parents get on both of them, the niece admits she molested her brother when they were teens but the next day she says he forced himself on to her and they kick him out. She’s a manipulator and user and she seeks out people that tolerate her behavior and her parents by allowing it to happen are enabling her so she doesn’t HAVE to change and that means she doesn’t want to.
She was seeing a psychiatrist and diagnosed bipolar and with a personality disorder. She was put on meds but didn’t take them when she went out partying and her mom felt that was smart that she’s not mixing alcohol and meds. Problem is, she’s always partying and not taking the meds and even if she did take them during the week it takes time to build up in your system and time to get out of your system so she was never properly medicated. The alcohol and drugs accentuate the personality disorders and the bipolar. Don keps telling his sister that every dime they give her is like another shovel of dirt for her grave.
We’ve told them all, we love our niece and pray for the best for her but we will not tolerate her behavior and don’t want to be around it. When she’s ready to clean herself up we’ll be her biggest supporters and will give her all the help she needs but until then, stay away.
Her parents moved into a bigger house that they couldn’t afford due to all the people living in their house at a time when they should be downsizing. The only smart thing they’ve done is get legal custody of the 2 boys but the way she’s in and out of their lives is doing them so much harm. Their dad’s been in prison twice for drugs and the 9 year old knows his mom sleeps with every guy she meets. He’s starting to complain and be embarassed by the way she dresses and begs her not to come to meetings at school.
A couple of years ago she wanted to dress as a prostitute for Halloween and have him be her pimp.
DeeLanParticipantMaybe when Will comes out Sami will blame herself and feel she drove him to it.
DeeLanParticipantReading about EJ’s super sperm I got visions of Taylor returning to Salem in a few years with EJ’s child.
DeeLanParticipantI do remember that time when Caroline was a bit of a shrew with feeling it was her place to be in everyone’s business she showed a bit if jealousy and cattiness when Victor seemed to be taking a liking to Maggie.
DeeLanParticipantI agree to a point. You eventually have to stop waiting and walk away as some people have to hit rock bottom before they’ll ask for help and losing the one person he came back for might just do that to him.
We’re dealing with the same type of thing with my niece who’s bipolar, a crack whore and alcoholic. Everytime someone’s there to help pick up the pieces when her life starts falling apart is another confirmation to her that she doesn’t have a problem. Don and I took ourselves out of her life last year and her parents finally decided not to allow her to ruin their lives and that of her 2 children, ages 6 & 9. After a DUI when nobody came to her rescue and bailed her out, a surgical procedure that had to be canceled because nobody would give her the $250 the doctor or hospital wanted as a deposit she’s cut back on her drinking and is getting into public housing. A step in the right direction but we all know if everyone comes running to her it will give her permission to go back to her previous ways. She now needs to get into counseling and on meds for her mental condition.
DeeLanParticipantI took that to mean she looses patience with him because he refuses to get help and feels he can handle it on his own, which apparently he can’t.
DeeLanParticipantI’m surprised they didn’t have the generators set up to kick in when the power goes out like hospitals and other public areas.
DeeLanParticipantI’m talking about the scenes outside resident’s front doors. No snow outside the mansion when Nicole left or very little snow on the trees. Of course I’m sure they employ grounds keepers to keep everything nice and perhaps even shake the snow off the trees and bushes so they don’t get weighed down and the branches don’t droop.
