Sean, Kristin Alfonso and Ari were in Australia to promote the show but where Kristin came back to the U.S. Ari and Sean stayed to explore Australia while continuing to promote the show.

and have Direct TV. It goes out at least 3-4 times a week if not every day. It’s very common when we record something to find out later that we didn’t get all of it or we’re watching something and the picture gets pixelated off and on until it goes out. This is when it’s overcast, raining or clear. Also when we signed up we were asked if we wanted the insurance or whatever it is for $5 a month. We said no but they tried to talk us into it by saying that if anything stopped working we had to pay for the replacement and a remote was over $100.

With that said we had Dish a couple of years ago and had a problem with them not getting NBC in our area. We had to pay an extra $2 a month or $24 to America Direct to get NBC. They’ve since gotten an affiliate here so that’s no problem but when we switched to Direct we had to send back our equipment at a cost to us. Seems they’ll deliver and install but won’t pick up used equipment. They did send us boxes with pre-paid shipping labels but added the shipping costs on to our final bill. The good news with Dish was it hardly ever went out.

A Toshiba Thrive and an Asus. The Toshiba is a 10 inch but I felt it was too big to throw in my purse when I went out. Don recently got me a 7 inch Asus which is nice a portable.

My favorite is the Toshiba because it’s easier to navigate and read my favorite forums and Facebook due to the larger screen. When I was in the hospital I took the larger one and could stand it up and actually post to Facebook and send emails with little problems.

The reason I didn’t go with Apple was price. The Toshiba is an android tablet and it’s the honeycomb version that was built for a tablet not for phones. The Kindle Fire is android but it’s an older version (built for a phone) that Amazon built on and it can be proprietary as far as some apps go.

There are also Windows based tablets that I’ve heard people having a lot of problems with..

I guess it all depends on how you plan on using it.

and I can honestly say the stories I heard about the first 2 weeks being the hardest are true. At the 2 week mark I was upgraded from a walker to a cane (I have a nice blue one) and the therapist took me walking outside on Friday. We walked about a block before we turned around. I’m only taking the pain meds 3 times a day now; when I wake up, around 2-3pm and at bedtime.

everyone for the input. I’m still nervous but not as much as before. A friend of mine is a retired surgical nurse in Chicago and she’s amazed at how thorough they’re being with the pre-op.

and they had PT, Case Management and the doctor’s nurse come in and talk to me.

We’re going to measure the wall side of the tub to see if a shower bench would fit, that would allow me to sit outside the tub and slide over to where I’m sitting for a shower. Don could give me the hand held or just get everything ready for me and help me get down. We already have a grab bar on the wall outside the shower that I hold onto when getting in and out of the shower so that’s a big help. In the master bath, which is just a toilet and sink Don’s sister got us a taller toilet a couple of years ago and Don installed that so I’ll have no problem with sitting on the stool in there.

The nurse said I should expect to spend 3 nights in the hospital and PT will come in twice a day while I’m there then a therapist will come to the house for a bit. She also said that patients who have had a previous hysterectomy said that the knee replacement hurt less than the hysterectomy so that’s reassuring.

and what I mean is Jennifer taking away ALL but the essentials until he gets his act together. The law says a parent only has to feed, clothe and house a child. It says nothing about internet, TV, cell phone, money or any other luxuries that kids take for granted today.

If he were my kid and said he needed money for lunch then he’d either take a bag lunch or I’d figure out where he goes and put money on a tab for him. If he wanted any thing else than he can earn it himself. Also a child gets privacy when they are old enough to deserve it so until he settles down I’d be checking on his whereabouts, make him check in periodically if he’s out.

Kids learn at that age or earlier the skills they need for adulthood and the way he’s acting he’s not ready for that responsibility. If he were a little older and got a job does he think his employer would tolerate his attitude or behavior.

Today too many parents want to be a friend to their children and aren’t being the parents they need. They need to be parents now and later when their child is grown and a contributing member of society they can work on being friends because to be honest, the way most kids today are being raised I know I wouldn’t want them as friends.

but haven’t watched the show in a while so not sure how they’re handling drugs at that hospital.

When I was working there were pharmacists and pharmacy techs. The techs would make rounds each shift and fill the dispenser on each floor. Each patient had their own drawer and there was also a drawer for excess meds that might be needed. Each employee that needed access to the meds had their own code and it only opened the drawer for the patient you were taking meds for. The hospital could check and see what you took and how much you took from it. If any meds were needed from the pharmacy between those refills or meds that weren’t in there an order had to be sent to the pharmacy and they’d either send it up via the vacuum tube, a secretary would go down and pick it up or a tech would bring it to the nursing station. For narcotics there was a check sheet and each vial, pill or whatever needed to be accounted for each shift with at least 2 nurses checking and signing their names.

Remember how they did Alice after she had her stroke. She was either sitting down, using a cane or leaning on someone/something. I’m not saying Peggy had a stroke but age and injury might have a lot to do with it. Plus she had something wrong with her foot a while back that I’m sure was real and written into the script.

The problem with the internet is that we can’t tell what the intent or emotion was in what we read. So many times I say something that I knew was meant as a joke yet that doesn’t come across to the other person.

There are so many wonderful people here I would hope you wouldn’t let the comment of one person push you away whether the comment was aimed directly at you or as Patti says, a general comment to nobody in particular.
