DeeLanParticipant
I thought the sleeping on the floor comment had to do with her working in some third world country for a while. But that whole conversation I thought EJ was being an a$$ so I wasn’t really paying attention.
DeeLanParticipantI look at Melanie as someone who may have had a dad do anything for her but at a price and it was all for what he could get from her in return. He aparently didn’t want her around so he sent her away to boarding school. She didn’t have any guidance and had to fend for herself in the only way she knew, manipulation and scamming as her father taught her. Once she got around people who cared about her and actually took care of her emotional needs she sort of stepped back and took on a weaker role and allowed others to finally care for her.
I’m nothing like Melanie but I was divorced at 26 for remained single for 20 years. During that time I took on the adult role in caring for my parents until they passed away then I was on my own for 9 years helping my cousin raise his granddaughter. When I got married and had a great man to care for me and the bills and actually want to do for me I did the same thing as Melanie. I stepped back and even though I’m part of the team making decisions as far as our finances and what we do with our money I don’t want to be. I got tired of worrying about bills and money for so long it’s nice to act oblivious and let someone else do it for me. If the time ever comes where I’m in a position to have to take care of things alone I know I’ll be able to do it but I’m happy in the roles my husband and I have, mostly because it was my choice.
DeeLanParticipantI keep wishing Paul would go home. He sounds like Rod Stewart after he’s inhaled helium. I’m also not fond of the last guy that sang but can’t remember his name. He was great the week he sang Luther’s song but I keep waiting for him to cry on his mom’s shoulder like he did during the auditions. I’ve always liked Lauren but I’m a country music fan. I felt she was trying to act too much like Kelli Pickler but after hearing her parents last night I don’t think it’s an act, she really is that nieve. Scotty is my favorite though and even though I’d like him to win I think he’s got a better chance of making it if he came in 2nd or 3rd.

Survivor Reef Sea of Survivors
DeeLanParticipantNicholas, EJ and Brandon were over 21 had been on their own and more experienced than Chelses.
To me the difference in age doesn’t matter as both get older but Chelsea wasn’t 21 yet and he’s in his 40’s. If she was in her mid to late 20’s and he was late 50’s the difference in age would still be there but to me would be more acceptable. If she was in her 30’s and he early 50’s it would be less awkward to me.
I’m actually more comfortable with a younger woman/older man than the other way around. I thought Billie and Nick were disgusting but again he was barely 21 if that and she had a daughterl his age and the Kate/Nicholas pairing was the next most disgusting pairing on the show.
DeeLanParticipantWith all the jokes about her cooking or lack of cooking skills I think the next Chef Ramsey or Paula Deen would be great with a bit of comic relief to it.
DeeLanParticipantI’ve also watched since the 60’s and yes, some of those storylines dragged on but they weren’t front and center and in our faces every day. A lot of the time we were as in the dark as the characters and it played out with us. It’s not the internet and spoilers that tell us this it’s the writers. We see the act played out and and then have to sit through months and months of rehashes and flashbacks.
The longest storyline I can remember was Laura and Bill’s affair and Mike’s paternity. Only a couple of people in Salem knew the truth and it was a secret for years but it wasn’t the main storyline. It was background and surfaced years later when the truth came out. They could have done that with Sydney and it would have been great. Let EJ and Nicole raise her with Doc Baker, Brady and Nicole being the only ones who knew that Nicole miscarried. Don’t dwell on it day after day with the truth threatening to come out and knowing it will. Mention it and let it go. That would have been a great story but they had to ruin it by dragging it ino the Sydnapping and then the revenge.
DeeLanParticipantHe posted this on yesterday
My agent suggested today that I go back to DOOL as a vampire. Could you imagine the chaos I could create. DOOL could use some deep loving.
DeeLanParticipantYeah, That’s what I get for trying to spell certain things from memory
DeeLanParticipantI agree Ashton’s attitude may have cost her some votes. It was like the judge’s comments were going to her head and she really believed she was Diana Ross or a Diva. I think Lauren can sing but she’s acting too Kelli Pickler and that’s getting on my nerves.
DeeLanParticipantI think she could get a license but a not be able to own a gun. Of course this is Salem so reality is out the window.
DeeLanParticipantI wasn’t impressed with Paul and don’t know why the judges are in love with him. He might not be a bad singer but his voice gets on my nerves.
DeeLanParticipantHaley sang Shania Twain
DeeLanParticipantNever saw that one.
DeeLanParticipantI read Days Cafe and their day ahead gets posted in the late evening so I can see if I want to watch or record.
