I know to work in a creative field you have to be able to take criticism, but it would be hard for me not to take things personally after a while, so I could see where she got her feelings hurt.
I think the Sami character has evolved a lot since I started watching, which is when she was using being raped by Alan to get to Austin. She actually thinks about other people now, and I can’t remember the last time she was scheming to get/keep a man. I think it’s unfair to say she hasn’t grown up at all. I think her character has taken on a much different role in the last few years and I have thoroughly enjoyed watching. Sami is probably my favorite character on the show, and while I was disappointed when Lumi didn’t work out, I knew that’s just soaps and something else would come along. I am really enjoying watching her have men to choose from rather than so desperate to hold onto.
I wasn’t really excited to see a possible Ejami match since he raped her, but they do have a lot of chemistry and it’s possible to believe that people can change. I hate what he did to her recently with the kidnapping of Sydney, and I hope he gets nailed for it (although I don’t think he will), but James Scott is such an incredible actor, one of the best Days has ever had IMO, that he can really do anything the writers throw at him. Personally, I am rooting for Safe, but it’s kind of fun to see the turmoil and animosity between EJ/Sami/Rafe. The three of them really play their scenes really well.
I was really excited when Alison took over the hosting duties for the Biggest Loser. I think her sweet personality really benefited that show. I can’t imagine how she balances her work/personal life, though!
BTW…I thought I saw Bryan’s last air date, but did they ever tell us what happened to Lucas? The last I remember was him at Philip’s wedding, and then we never saw him again. ??? I do wish they would have tied that up a little better, especially considering he has 2 kids on screen. Are we to believe they still see him, but he’s not talked about? Or did he run off and leave them?
I agree with you, Patti. I can’t stand that Nicole didn’t seem to learn anything from the whole kidnapping Sydney storyline. I think the writing needs to go in a different direction before we all start ff her scenes. She needs to find a way to be redeemed, we already hate her enough. I’m tired of seeing her be one person to Brady and then a completely different towards everyone else, making everything about her. She’s as bad as Kate, IMO, and I hope they do something so she’ll wake up.
People say Sami is annoying and a bad mother, but Nicole reminds me a lot of how Sami used to be back in the day. Scheming to get Austin, Brandon, etc, with all the wrong intentions. Sami makes mistakes, but she has her heart in the right place these days. If I were Sami, being so fresh off all the emotions of losing and reconnecting my child, I would probably beat the @%$& out of her!
I don’t think the writers even know where this relationship is going! It seems back and forth, waiting to see how it all plays out with no real plan or purpose. I don’t want them back together, but it’s kind of fun to watch.
I have to say the show has definitely held my interest in the last few months much more than in previous years. I have almost stopped watching tv altogether, except for days. I am not crazy about all the storylines, probably Mia/Will/Chad/Gabi the least, but there are several that really get my heart beating! I couldn’t wait to see the reaction of Daniel & Melanie finding out they were father/daughter. I was so ready for the Sydney kidnapping storyline to end, it lasted a bit long in my opinion. But nonetheless, compared to how storylines used to drag out (especially with JER), the show is running along very smoothly, IMO.
Did anyone else on this board watch Passions? Every time I see Brady and Arianna together of course it reminds me of Theresa/Ethan. I watched that show for years just to see a resolution to that whole triangle and the truth to come out about everything. I don’t know if it ever did because I got so mad that it took so long. It was like 4 or 5 years, ridiculous!! You could literally not watch the show for 2 weeks and they would still be using the same lines when you turned it back on.
But I digress…
After watching today’s show, I think it will certainly be Rafe. Victor will probably figure it out, too, but it doesn’t really concern him much to care. He’s too busy worrying about how to keep Bo from killing Vivian and and so on and so forth. Rafe was already a bit suspicious of Anna being in town and her nervousness about visiting Sami. Especially once Arianna and he talk and she tells him about answering EJ’s phone with Anna on the other line, bingo! Where will the proof come from? Can he convince Sami of this? I hope so.
I used to loathe Sami back in her scheming to get Austin days, but she has really grown on me. I think she has grown up a lot. Although she continues to make mistakes, it seems like her heart is in the right place now. As a mother I really feel for all she’s been through. I really like Safe and I hope they get to be happy for a while!
I like his new hair do. And I liked his move with Victor, very smart. However, if he was truly not bluffing, then incredibly selfish. Victor was right, what about Hope, Ciara and Caroline. Who cares about them, apparently!
My heart is breaking in a million pieces for Sami. Although I don’t think she was right in blaming Rafe when the ransom drop didn’t go well, Rafe should not have berated her for following her instincts. I am SO ready for this whole kidnapping storyline to come out and for EJ to be exposed for the snake he is. I have to hand it to him for playing the part of the distraught father so well. But for him to think Sami keeping Sydney away from him is worse than everything he’s done to her is so pompous and arrogant. I thought it was hilarious when Stephano tried to tell him that vengeance wasn’t appropriate at this time. Ha! When has Stephano NOT taken revenge?? I sure hope Sami and Rafe can work through all this when it’s over. I think EJ would be happy just to have broken them up.
I was thinking today as EJ was telling Johnny they’re going away that Johnny can talk, and surely would say something to Sami when he got back about seeing his sister. We shall see. Will it be Rafe that figures all this Anna stuff out soon?? I amr ready for him to talk to Arianna about how weird EJ and Anna acted about everything. Hmmm…
Forgive me as I am about 2 weeks behind, but I was just watching when Hope walks in and yells at Bo and Carly, acting all mad that she was after him. Then she got mad that Bo took his ring off. Hello!! He already slept with a woman and is not remoarseful about it. What other sign do you need that he thinks the marriage is over?? It made me laugh out loud when she called him an sob and then broke a vase. Oh, now I’m watching and Justin is "going to make it all go away," by kissing Hope. Haha! That’ll help things! Soaps are so predictable.
What would you call it if it wasn’t rape? Coercion? Whatever you call it, it was wrong and cruel. I am still mad that the show let a child be conceived out of that experience.
I know I’m in the minority, but I am okay with Carly and Bo together. I am sick of Hope’s self righteous attitude with Bo, throwing out demands and expecting him to just take it. She is getting exactly what she deserves for her behavior following Ciara’s kidnapping. JMHO
I can’t think of one good reason that EJ would take Sydney and hide her. I don’t think it’s Stephano either, though that would make a lot more sense. EJ seems to be very genuine with Sami and I don’t think he would do that to her. Who knows what happened to Anna after Tony died. She might have gone right off the deep end! It is definitely interesting to watch, though!
