Things just seem to miraculously be okay for people on TV. It would be nice to see people struggle a bit. Having children is such a joy, the best of my life, but very difficult as well. I couldn’t imagine doing it on my own and having to provide for my kids both emotional and financial stability. I know moms who do, but most have struggled for quite a while to make that happen!
drea4713ParticipantIt seems more like a multiple personality disorder than turning back to Princess Gina, to me anyway. With Ciara getting caught stealing, that is definitely foreshadowing Hope’s muggings. I think this is a great story line!
drea4713ParticipantI love the scenes between these two. I have to say Stefano is a good match for Kate. He’s the only one I can remember who keeps her in line!
drea4713ParticipantThat makes sense, but I hope they don’t have Chloe cheating again! I don’t see a lot of chemistry between Philip & Chloe anyway.
I totally agree about Vivian, though. Please give her a different story line! More interaction with Kate, a Kiriakis/Dimera feud, anything!
drea4713ParticipantI can see why Stephanie doesn’t like Melanie. I’m not saying she doesn’t have reasons, but if she’s going to act all moral and self-righteous, then she can’t act different to Melanie than she does everyone else, in my opinion. She should own what she did, too.
I don’t think it’s fair to say they are the same, though. Melanie is a big younger than Stephanie I think, had an awful upbringing, basically no good influences, her father was pimping her out just a year or two ago, then killed and she was a prime suspect. Stephanie grew up without a father, but still as a Brady. Not really comparable. At some point you can’t blame your upbringing for bad choices, but I think she’s still trying to find her way.
drea4713ParticipantThis could be a good storyline. Maybe in one of her alter ego nights, she snaps and kills Vivian, freeing up Bo to come rescue her from her drug/mental problems (because we know he likes doing that so much!), and poor Carly would be safe and not in need of a white knight, lessening her appeal. I think it has possibilities!
drea4713ParticipantI don’t think she really bought that Stefano was sick. She said before they left her house that she hadn’t agreed to it, but since EJ was going to do it anyway, she wanted to be there for her kids and tagged along. As EJ pointed out, it was his night with the kids, so when he said they were staying the night at the mansion, what choice did she have? He knew she objected and did it anyway, so her cards were all played. I think she knows something is up.
I don’t think she’s an idiot for wanting to believe that EJ has changed. She made a great point while talking to Roman that she knows what it feels like to want people to believe you’ve changed. I think she’s just showing some grace and mercy. To a certain extent, he has changed. Once he realized he still loved her, you could tell on his face he deeply regretted what he had done.
drea4713ParticipantI understand people being upset about Bo & Carly being together, but it sounds like you’re attacking the actresses’ appearance. I think she’s pretty. Please remember these actors are people too who have feelings (and often read these boards!).
drea4713ParticipantI know an adult mother and daughter who speak to each other that way. They fight and cuss and totally disrespect each other but choose to spend quite a bit of time together. It drives me crazy and I think it’s totally dysfunctional. Thankfully I’m not around them that much!
drea4713ParticipantHe mentioned to Kate about staying at Maggie’s. Even though Mia is there and that would be uncomfortable, I would think it would be better than staying at the Dimera mansion. I think it is for another reason like he will stumble upon a conversation he’s not supposed to or something. I think it would be interesting if he got a little dark side while he was staying there, or if he figured out EJ was the kidnapper, he struggled with whether to tell Sami or let her suffer the consequences of her actions.
He could stay at the Pub, too. It’s not like he needs a babysitter, he’s got to be like 16 or 17, right? Plus they don’t have to show him where he’s living, he’s usually in scenes at Java anyway.
drea4713ParticipantI just posted a similar comment on the thread above. I am no feminist, but she doesn’t appear to have any self esteem to allow these men to make decisions for her. After such a traumatic thing with Lawrence, she really needs to be alone to sort things out instead of jumping right back into another relationship (with a married man!). It’s not even interesting to watch, and I don’t say that about many storylines.
April 8, 2010 at 2:21 pm in reply to: Carly needs a babysitter??!! What a contrived story line…. #11867drea4713ParticipantCarly is not defenseless! Did they forget that she killed Lawrence to get away from him and protect Melanie? That should be enough to show she can take care of herself. She knows the Alamains best of all since she lived as one for so many years. Every time Bo tells Carly he loves her I have to laugh, especially when Hope is brought up, because you can see in his eyes that his heart is still with her. Carly must not have much self-esteem or be completely ignorant. I sure wouldn’t be happy having to share a man’s affections with another woman. Then again, I wouldn’t get involved with a married man. Tee hee!
drea4713ParticipantThere is a reason Will is moving into the mansion, it’s definitely out of character for him. Since he hates EJ so much, it really makes no sense why he would move into his house (even though he’s not there, I know)! It really bugs me that Will has been so forgiving of Kate and all the horrible things she did to Chloe and Lucas. I know it wasn’t proven or anything, but he’s a bright boy. He seems to have a higher moral standard than what he’s showing. I guess he’s so used to forgiving people being raised by Sami & Lucas! LOL
drea4713ParticipantI would have sympathy for anyone whose child was kidnapped and told they were dead. As a mother, I can’t imagine, that is every mother’s worst fear, I think (losing a child). I don’t think the Sami character has been despicable for several years. I guess we just see things differently.
But if I’m not mistaken, I think the only times she has sex with EJ ended with pregnancies, not that that can’t happen in real life, but come on. The only time they showed her willingly in bed with him was when Lucas was released from prison and I think that’s when we’re supposed to believe that Sydney was conceived (and even THAT was interrupted!). It would be nice if everyone thought that every time they slept with someone they might get pregnant, but I think very few people actually have that expectation.
drea4713ParticipantI wanted to throw something at the tv when she told Sami that she "realized" in prison that this whole situation was Sami’s fault for not telling EJ she was pregnant. Oh my gosh!! I guess that’s par for a lot of society, nothing is ever your fault! Always blame someone else for your bad choices. It drives me CRAZY!!! I thought they were trying to make her a decent person or at least human by showing her having a nurturing side, but that just undid it for me. If she couldn’t have sympathy for what Sami went through as a mother, then she has ice in her veins.
