is that there seems to be an awful lot of gaps left open here. Rafe thinks Will never wanted anything to do with the baby and wanted Gabi to have an abortion which is far from the truth, she made that decision on her own and never seems to reveal that little tidbit. Hence Rafe thinks Will used Gabi.
Sami seems to think Gabi (much like herself) tried to keep Will from his child, which is also not true. That was all Nick’s doing and nobody reveals that little tidbit either. Hence Sami thinks she is not wrong.
and finally Nick, what can I say about Nick? He is too creepy for words right now and Gabi better open her mouth and tell him to lay off Will if she knows what is good for her and her baby. How dare he think that Will could just give up his rights as a parent? No matter how he plays this out in his head, as long as he lives in Salem he cannot hide from the child that it’s father is a gay man. EVERYONE knows Nick, so get over it and let things go. Marry Gabi, take care of the baby if that is what you want and let Will be a part of the baby’s life, which is his right.
I coud have just thrown things at the TV today. Rafe is being far too pompous for my liking right now, Nick is too creepy, Sami is reliving her past mistakes and, gulp, nobody but EJ is understanding her and Gabi is being too wishy-washy. It’s not like she’s 15 or 16 years old. Grow up a little bit will you girl, PLEASE, and start taking some control over your situation instead of waiting for Nick to handle it for you.
dvalParticipantbut when my son got married last May, in a Roman Catholic ceremony, the paperwork was all signed at the rehearsal. Sort of a guarantee that it doesn’t get forgotten in all the rush after the wedding, I think.
I won’t ever forget it because my 3rd son, who was the best man, signed the wrong line (above his name instead of below) and the priest tossed a hissy fit and told the groom he couldn’t marry them because the best man signed the wrong line. Which of course was an over reaction and the township said it was no big dea, they would have accepted it. But he got a corrected license the next day but he got everybody all worked up over nothing. Fortunately the rehearsal was on Wednesday and the wedding wasn’t until Friday, LOL.
dvalParticipantcount me in. I do like Sami. And you’re right, she does seem to get bashed more than other characters, at least as I see it. I bet if you went back through the posts you’d see anti-Sami posts outnumber the others.
The person who really lost my respect in all of this conversation after the wedding is Rafe. His reaction was that if Sami wants to blame Gabi, well I’m going to blame Will. And even though the things he said about Will were as bad as what Sami said, her behavior has turned him off. Hah, well I got a newsflash for suddenly self-righteous Rafe…it takes two to tango buddy and if your sister told you Will knew about it and agreed to this why he is any worse than the other two? And I think all you had to do was look at poor Will’s face during the scene at the wedding to know it was a relief for him to admit to being the baby daddy. IMO this was all Nick forcing this down Gabi and Will’s throats right from the get-go. I do believe he loves Gabi, in his own possessive deranged way, but he couldn’t wait to push Will out of the picture. Hope this comes out eventually too.
and as for Gabi, no I don’t feel that she is just a poor innocent caught up in things. The things she is caught up in were all of her own making.
dvalParticipantSami was just reflecting herself back on Gabi. She assumes immediatey that since that is what she did, denying Lucas his son, that is what every other female would do, LOL.
dvalParticipantI wonder how he’ll feel when he finds out it’s Will’s baby? Do you think he will regret what he did? I am glad also that all of Gabi’s misdeeds will be out in the open but I do wish that Chad hadn’t done things this way.
dvalParticipantwho was lurking outside the office (but we couldn’t see who it was just their viewpoint) when she convenientlly left the door open while talking to Cameron about the baby not being Nick’s. He’s been following her since Cameron had that lightbulb go off over his head during the "bachelor party".
dvalParticipanthere it was ONLY NBC that interrupted, not CBS or ABC.
dvalParticipantbecause EJ knew and was holding it against him, I think, so he wouldn’t get back with Sami. It was when Chad was threatening to tell all and then EJ went and told Rafe and he told Rafe if he would leave Sami alone he wouldn’t turn in Gabi, as I recall. Then Gabi went and told Melanie what happened, then Mel found out Chad knew and then Nick was released and Chad wanted to marry Mel, and then that was when Melanie left. Very vague recollections. Not sure if all of this is coherent time lines but something like that.
dvalParticipantBut I agree with you, everything you said, Patti. None of these characters is recognizable anymore. Rafe, well he is starting to seem more and more like Faux-Rafe, everything from the leering looks he throws Sami to the squeezing her knee in church yesterday. Maybe he is trying to become more like EJ in the hopes that Sami will be attracted to him then? Maybe that is the storyline here, make Rafe more EJ and EJ more Rafe but…
EJ well, he is the guy we loved to hate. Now he’s what…pathetic? No spunk, no fire, letting Kristen walk all over him. When is he going to wake up and smell the Stefano in all of this? I would love to see EJ become so enraged with Stefano and Kristen that he disavows the family BUT remains a DiMera in his behavior. Striking out on his own and buildind his own empire to get back at Daddy. That could be interesting.
And Sami, well, what can I say? This corporate girl Sami is just not working for me. they need to let Sami grow up but still be herself at work and in her personal life. There are parts of Sami that everyone agrees need to chnage but they can just mature those parts, not get rid of them all together, if that makes any sense. Make her more of a strong willed woman, less of a willful child. Keep her feistiness just channel it better.
dvalParticipantthought processes in this storyline to be totally out of character for him. Not understanding why Marlena didn’t trust Kristen, his being able to forgive and forget with Kristen so easily and then being so "angry" over Marlena not telling him the truth when he hadn’t listened to her for months about kristen. This is not the JOhn and Marlena we know. And if they send him away then where will the Kristen storyline go because she will have to find some other havoc to wreak. Very, very poor writing. No concerpt of the characters at all. then this pratfall nonsense we have to put up with from Missy Reeves. If we were all younger we could make a drinking contest out of her calamities…every time Jennifer falls down or has a health crisis or has a monkey wrench thrown into her relationship with Daniel, take a shot, LOL. we’d all be drunk most of the time and maybe we would enjoy the show more.
dvalParticipantbut that wouldn’t make for good soap opera now would it?
dvalParticipantthat lately Sami’s character is behaving more frequently like the old Sami, though I wouldn’t go so far as to call her despicable. That label belongs squarely on Kristen at the moment. The writers had seemed to be taking Sami in the right direction for a while, more mature, less flying off the handle, but since this Gabi thing she seems to have gone backwards. I think it has something to do with her remembering what it was like to be a pregnant teenager and not wanting anyone to hurt Gabi over this. That’s jmho of course.
dvalParticipantgive Brady a brain scan while he’s there and see if there is anything at all in there. This character is constantly being portrayed as about 12 years old when it comes to women. He bounces back and forth "in love" more than the teens on this show.
dvalParticipanti think it was one of those heat pads that you can wear, like a Salonpas or something.
dvalParticipantwould have been for Nicole to be taking the high road and respecting Eric’s vocation while he is the one struggling with it. far-fetched idea, I know, but it could have been interesting.
